Adult tamagotchi collectors are pretty serious and there is a niche of the community that enjoys modding them. im really glad to see people talking about them in a positive light even though Kutchipatchi is my favorite and you railed my man for no reason
@@AngelKitten7 doesn't have to be if you want it to be casual for you it can be and if people want to be more serious with it they can and that's like not really anything to do with you at all, they can do what they want, you can do what you want
should i skip school for youtube video making? i making good stuff but i need much time to making. maybe replace school with making videos. i have two girlfriends. thanks for your opinion dear pi
Woahhhh I was looking for a “history of tamagotchi” video like this a while ago but couldn’t find one. Today I randomly searched Tamagotchi in RU-vid and I found this video made 11 hours ago today! That’s so perfect!😄
Loved this video!! ♡ I'm in my late 20's and am still very into Tamagotchis. I have a bunch of Tamas (some are new, some are from my childhood.) I love the nanos!! They're just so tiny and cute. My fave nano Tamas are Evangelion, Hello Kitty and Gudetama. There's Toy Story ones coming out soon lol. Random but aiight. I really want one of the pricier colour Tamas, they're definitely a lot more involved. When I have time I run 2 Tamas at once (one nano, one original) but in general I just don't have the same attention span or regular sleep pattern that I used to have as a child. I get way too invested in my Switch, watching tv or some other activity and they just die lmao. But I also feel bad leaving them on pause all the time! (≧▽≦) The longest I've kept one alive was a week or so I think? I've almost gotten all the Angels on my Evatchi. Some adult Tama community people are kinda crazy af tho so I don't get involved with them. I'm good just vibing by myself, enjoying my nostalgia.
They totally are I have a massive collection but I keep to myself because I’ve had allot of issues with that community, I wish I had collector friends thoughh
Tamagotchi has been my obsession for a few years now. I got one so I could have something annoying that would ensure I didn’t lose my keys, and then I just sort of got addicted
I think an important part that you didn't focus a lot on is the social aspect. I remember liking pokemon red but I got hooked to it because all my friends were playing it and the link cable lets me duel and trade pokemon with them.
I only ever had the knock-off versions growing up, so it's neat to see so much affection for the official, original version. Virtual pets were everywhere at the time - I believe some games for the Dreamcast VMU and Sony's knockoff of it (the Pocketstation) were virtual pet minigames.
My tamagotchi belongs to the 4.5 version and I took it back in 2010, and apparently I managed to grow 8 gens without letting it die.(of course after almost 10 years of letting it die repeatedly, sometimes, by mistake though) I'm gonna keep this number growing! I love it so much and I'm happy it still works!
Just discovered your channel and binged watched all of your videos… I love how concise, informative, and funny your recent videos are. You just have this old 2012 gaming review vibes but just more modern. I think I’m in love with you.
my guy the azstrosist stonks are up, been a fan ever since the vaporwave video bro glad to see you continue evolving and doing what you love thats the thing ive always enjoyed about your videos is that it always sounded like you were having fun
Never had a Tamagotchi growing up. The closest I got to one were the Club Penguin puffles which well, didn't die after every school day so there's that.
I'm also a Tamagotchi collector in my 20s, and I've felt really welcomed by the community across different platforms! Something about looking at these plastic eggs gives me so much serotonin... but why did you have to do kuchipatchi like that, so uncalled for lmao
I remember buying one in a magazine as a kid. It stopped responding to button presses within a few hours (maybe it wasn't broken but I didn't know what I was meant to do) so I was scared to look knowing my virtual pet was going to die, but to make matters worse it took agonizingly long for the little dude to actually die so I just spent an entire day nervously glancing at it. It... wasn't a fun time, to be honest. 💀
My dad just found ours from when we were kids. They are the v1 connection ones, I just reset one and kept one at gen 11, was able to download the data from 2004. I've been trying so hard with them lol.
I had a few when I was a kid and defo didn't buy a rerelease gen 1 and some second hand gen 3s off eBay couple years ago... kids now will never know of the nostalgia of these little buggers. Also shoutout my mum who used to babysit my Tamas when my school banned them. Great video btw!
Gen 4 was the one that got me into them, absolutely loved playing all the games online and putting in the codes for cool stuff I got to have on my device.
My older brother had one of the original Tamagotchis and he needed our mom to take care of it over the weekend. She’s a housewife and was also taking care of five year old identical twins (myself and my sister) at the time. Needless to say, that thing died. My brother, who is very OCD and bipolar, hated my mom for months over its death. He never raised another one. Good thing my sister and I didn’t have them. My mom would have never taken care of them. We were raised on the original Petz series, which kept my mom from having to take care of a another virtual pet!
And the new releases have just about every digimon you could imagine and you don’t have to have someone else to battle you can emulate a battle and it’s like a Colosseum battle royale
Still into tamagotchis. Currently running the sdcc 2022 tamagotchis. Two of my favorite shell designs. They have both died once already. Hopefully they make adulthood this time.
The tamagotchi smart is arguably the craziest release they ever did. Tons of features and you can flash the smart and design your own mini games or change the code of the damn thing entirely if you’d want. There is some serious aftermarket support made by adults to keep these things fun.
Ugh I hate the way the tamagotchi pix shell looks but its the best & easily accessible right now. The way you care for it also determines growth along w daily things to look forward to
I recommend!! If you don't want something too involved, try the nano ones. They're a little smaller, more simple and there's a bunch of diff IPs you can choose from like Demon Slayer, Evangelion, Hello Kitty etc. I love Digimon too coz you can fight other Digimon lol. There's new waves of them coming out rn.
Got the Tamagotchi ON a while ago and just picked up the Uni recently on release. They have much more content now and much more personality. Gets me even more attached lol! The old ones will always have a spot in our hearts but the new ones are awesome!
just checked this one , man thanks for making me so much laugh, i love it, u super fun!!! XD got anyway the galaxy version after 29 years got my last one !!
Fun fact, one of the tamagotchi got stranded on the digimon world and becomes a new digimon, and also belphemon sleep mode, one of the deadliest demon digimon has an alarm clock that looks like a white tamagotchi
I remember getting a tamagotchi when I was I was 6 for Christmas. My dad would help me out to take care of it while I was at school so it wouldn't of not died or something.
I'm 25 and collect Tamagotchis. It's my obsession. The newer ones are so dope. I miss my Tamagotchi Ons, they were stolen blep. Currently running a hello kitty Tamagotchi nano.
i have a tamagotchi p2, and my favorite goober is pochitchi because he’s literally a dog. just straight up a dog. not a wacky, silly alien creature, no he’s just a f-king *_dog_*
LOL, I’m in my 30s and I still play with my Digimon virtual pets & Tamagotchi. I wound up getting the Tamagotchi Smart too and it’s pretty cool although I still prefer the good old fashioned button cell battery vpets.
back when i was a kid i loved these thing i remember when me and my brother went to school my mom would end up taking care of are tomagotchi so they would not die
Not sure about modern tamagotchi deaths being toned down since in the pix (which is the most recent tamgotchi in the US) if you don't take care of your tama, you have to see them be miserable in a hospital. Then, if they die, you see a scene of a lone tombstone in the rain. That's gonna screw some kid up.
I love Tamagotchi. I have a UNI and still replay my older ones every now and then. Who cares if I’m an adult. A lot of adults collect and plays these. I have so many different models. I’m missing a few but have most of the newer ones and most older models.
Kuchipatchi is THE quintessential Tamagotchi design imo, first thing I think of and I love him, his big lips are for kissing because he just wants to love mwah '3'
I’m still playing with tamagotchis lol Currently with the Tamagotchi Smart! Also have a Pix and On! Gonna be getting two rereleases next month- the donut one and the colorful characters one as well! The easiest way to check which of the rereleases you got is the background- P1 has a checkerboard background and the P2 has the swirls (which is the one you have!). I play mine everyday and am hunting for more- such as the Tamagotchi Ps, Tamagotchi Nano (Eevee is my dream one), Tamagotchi Connections 4 or 4.5, Tamagotchi Ocean (hardest Tama to play/keep alive) and other virtual pets like them!
It’s because the rereleases have slightly different programming so if you give it too many snacks it will die immediately. If you only play the game to raise happiness points, it won’t die on the new releases. The vintage releases aren’t as finicky. You can feed them snacks galore and they won’t die as easily. I highly suggest getting a vintage p1 or p2. They are way more fun.
