The favourite palace and residence of the notorious Tudor King Henry VIII was Hampton Court Palace. It was built by Cardinal Wolsey, but after his fall from grace it was given to the King of England. Whilst here, Henry's 6 wives all spent time at the palace, and it was considered the finest Tudor residence in the whole of England. But it was a site where the royal court was based, and because of this much gossip occurred here. But Hampton Court was the site where one Queen of England died. Jane Seymour, Henry's third wife died after she gave birth to the future King Edward VI. It's said that her ghost haunts the palace, and that every year she visits her sons former lodgings.
There have been many ghost sightings at Hampton Court, and one of the most shocking is the reports of Catherine Howard's ghostly spectre. Just outside of the Chapel Royal, it's claimed that Catherine's screaming ghost runs up and down the gallery outside screaming for her husband, Henry VIII who was inside praying. Catherine at Hampton Court was arrested for her adultery behind the King's back, and she was then imprisoned at the Tower of London before being executed. Her screaming ghost cries out for her husband reguarly and some people have even fainted in the gallery near the Chapel. There have been a number of other sightings of ghosts at Hampton Court, including that of a Grey Lady, a woman who its claimed looked after Queen Elizabeth I when she was ill from smallpox. But what is the history behind these sightings?

My son was 13 and just learning about ghosts, history, and the paranormal when we visited Hampton Court. We went all over and didn't see a ghost. He was so disappointed. He was also hoping for an out of body experience at Stonehenge. That didn't happen, either.

Chasing & hoping for a paranormal experience is the way to prevent yourself from the experience. Recently, I vacationed at a hotel from the 1800s that was said to be very haunted. Though I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I took a walk around the hotel in the evening. There are many beautiful paintings & antique furniture all over the hotel. After an hour of walking around, I decided to go back to my room, to sleep. As I approached my room, there was a gentleman dressed in a suit & top hat standing on the opposite wall of my room. His clothing Looked to be from the early 1900s.He smiled, tipped his hat to me. I heard a noise behind me, I turned around, when I turned back toward the gent, he was gone.

I just imagine the real scream when she heard that Henry found out….any one would be shocked and horrified if their powerful spouse found out about something like that, but the utter sense of dread knowing your spouse is Henry VIII and knowing your fate will be death and permanent historical disgrace…definitely dramatic enough to leave a mark on the veil between life and death

If any era would create ghosts, it would be the Tudor era, especially Henry VIII.

If it’s truly haunted it should only be Henry’s ghost not resting. I saw that clip you’re talking about. It’s creepy! Good video.

I’m only asking because of genuine curiosity, but why would it only be Henry’s ghost, not resting if it was haunted?
