Previously with the help of his magic ring and quick thinking, Bilbo was able to rescue his friends and lead them to safety after being captured by the Wood-elves.
Bilbo and the dwarves continue their journey towards the Lonely Mountain, passing through Lake-town before making their way to the mountain. They face challenges in finding the hidden door that will lead them to the dragon's lair, but eventually succeed. Along the way, they encounter desolation caused by the dragon and grow increasingly tired and despondent. They discuss sending Bilbo to spy on their enemies but eventually discover the key to the secret door and successfully open it, revealing darkness and danger ahead.
