I tried the mod some days ago and yeah I was thinking the same, that this feels a lot like Victoria 2. And my God, the game (at least on Prussia side) has SO MUCH STUFF!!

If they can add in multiple start dates, make in run really smooth' and make AI and player nations partially disarm their country after major wars. I would only use this mod.

This is one of the most historical, most accurate, and while slow, the best HOI4 mod to play. If the vanilla (Road to 56+) and Great War Trees could be improvised in this mod, this would be the perfect mod for any historical stragetic player to get into.

I feel like you’re just better off playing Victoria II if you want a game set in this kind of era. The mod is insanely well made and detailed but HOI4 just wasn’t meant for century-long expansion. It also doesn’t help that the lag makes the game run even slower. I also tried the mod as a small nation and it’s even harder to expand or do anything. You essentially have to wait 5 HOI4 years for a great power to declare war on you using one of their focus trees or wait until the world tension is high enough, which also takes seemingly forever for it to do. Like the best way I can sum this is up is by saying that in my 10 years of gameplay the world tension is still only at 2% and going down. This isn’t a problem with the mod, at-least I don’t think so, it’s a problem with HOI4.

In case you didn't find it there is an option to unite Africa in the options (open through decisions). This drastically improves performance.

This looked really interesting, then I saw that the mod has made Norway completely annexed by Sweden which it wasn't. Making Norway a puppet would fit in more as it was a rather loose union where Norway had its own government with foreign affairs handled by sweden, but the rest was mostly handled by norway. This mod ignores the Norwegian war for independence in 1814, probably the most important war in Norwegian history. A war for its very existence. Would have been nice to have it be a puppet state. The puppet mechanics would work well for breaking free as norway sort of did it over time as well. Hope any of the mod devs sees this to atleast consider it for future updates. Would mean a lot to a Norwegian

With that big of a timeline I don't think any ahistorical paths would make any sense, after 10 years or so nothing would make sense anymore, so I think it's just a really fun mod for roleplaying and detailed simulations

I do think the mod is quiet nice made but as a German some points aren't correct as we learned it in school. 1. All the german states were in one faction the "deutsche Bund" which worked as kind of a buffer zone in central europe to balance the powers of europe. It was as a not united german state strong in defens but caused to the many several leaders and states weak in attaking. 2. The Prussian-Danish war was caused through the annexation of Schleswig(which wasn't a member of the "deutsche Bund" because the danish was also the King of Schleswig) there mosstly Germans were living back than. Then this happend Bismark wanted to give Schleswig his rightd back and Danemark refused. So Prussia and Austria-Hungary invaded. 3. After the Prussian-Danish war Prussia and Austria argued what would happen to the occupied terretories. Prussia wanted to annex them, Austria wanted their independence. So the Austrian-Prussian war happend which was the end of the"deutsche Bund'. Most of the northern german states allied with Prussia and all of the southern with Austria. The great powers France, Russia and England(there the english King was the King of the german state Hannover) stayed neutral because they thought Austria would win, but on July 3rd 1866 Prussia won and formed the northen german conferderation ( "der Norddeutsche Bund"). In generall the mod is well made but I think it should have started earlier in around 1862 then Bismark became the "Reichskanzler" of Prussia and his biggest aim was to unite Germany under prussian rule. Also then I saw this I was kind of disappointed cause this was one of the most interisting and important time periods of german history. Fun fact: with the battle of Königsgrätz the prussian army introduced the somewhat first mass produced breachloader called "Zündnadelgewehr" which allowed the prussian to shoot while laying down, moving and retreat. Though the real impact is debatable, ultimatly the prussian army won the war, because most of the main and elite infantry of the austrian army was heavily demobiliesed due to financial constraint. (Excuse my poor english)

Fun fact... or gun fact... of the day, Prussians beat Austrians by having Dreyse Needle guns, while Austrians still had muzzleloaders. The war is one of the biggest examples of infantry weapons helping the war effort in a major way

I saw this advertised in the workshop on Steam but, with 1700 hours on HOI4, I assumed it could not be a s good as it sounded. Watching this has made me realsie how wrong I was. Thanks Alex. I am about to leave You Tube and start to conquer the World once again.
