Brief circa-1976 interview excerpt with Tony & Terry (on an Aussie TV program I think). Includes a short segment of the Tom Jones "Sorry Suzanne" clip without the blasted watermark!
The most underrated musician and guitarist and singer ever was!!! He could blow all them all away but he stuck with the hollies because that was his band !!!
Oh, to find colour clips of Tony Hicks is such a blessing - it does justice to those beautiful and *sparkling* blue eyes - what a JOY - It's the closest to the real thing (you know 😃) - and to hear him speaking with that posh Brit accent is just too ❤️ much - seriously - an utterly beautiful man
Tony is definitely my favorite of The Hollies. Really wish I would have been alive in the 60s/70s, but sadly this was 30+ years before I would even have been a thought. Such great music and Tony was so cute and had/has such gorgeous eyes. Really enjoy his voice and musicianship as well.
Something about those "puppy dog" basset hound eyes. HE'S IS SERIOUSLY GORGEOUS. SERIOUSLY. If I had a face like that I wouldn't be able to look away from a mirror. I love his sensuous eyes.He is to "die" for. (lucky & fortunate is the lady who "owns: him body & soul).
Well I'm 67 and remember them just like it was yesterday. The music from that era and up until the 80s was very skilled and the talent of the musicianship was unbelievable. I truly feel proud that it was the music of my younger years.
"...Out of 12 monthe we're only together for 6". That is why they have always kept it real. That is how they were able to sustain. Congratulations on being inducted into the R&RHOF...you earned it!!
Tony has great down to earth personality a lancashire lad like other hollies Bobby is from burnley I’m from Blackburn, the burnley football team colours were red n blue I think n gold
Ha, was discussing gorgeous 70's hair. A great period, from 70's to 80's beautiful hair. Was just recently looking at the ACDc's rhythm guitar player's beautiful hair in a documentary and also David Cassidy's hair in one of his documentaries. Not to mention Michael Landon.
This clip i believe is an Australian television production called Sounds Unlimited with presenter Donnie Sutherland "a cracking fella" from the mid seventies.
It's their North-west (of England) accents, Tony is from Nelson and Terry is from Allerton in Liverpool, Terry has a fairly soft Liverpool accent, but you can certainly tell that Tony is from Lancashire as soon as he speaks.
YES....IT'S TONY......HE's THE WINER, i MEAN WINNER. & MAYBE HE'S BIG ON WINE TOO.YES, TONY HICKS IS A WINNER. REAL EYE CANDY, HE'S SOOO BEAUTIFUL, DON'T KNOW HOW HE DEALS W/ THAT BREATHTAKING BEAUTY. HE'S JUST "OVER THE TOP" GORGEOUS.
I think it's the way his eyes and eyebrows slant down a bit that gives him that "little boy lost" look at times...but he seems pretty upbeat here overall.
0:53 “That fellow he moved onto a group called 10cc didn’t he” An interview where the artists know more about the music than the interviewer. (I’m just being cheeky.)
hits-stop,stop,stop,king midas, on a carousel. carrie anne.bus stop(my fav),he aint heavy, having my baby, woman long tall red dress.tc.really weird tony couldn't remember one,i plucked this out of my head.
First we were in a band called "Lovely Lads" then later we changed our name to "The Originals" but there was another band already called the originals so we changed out name again to "The NEW Originals". After that the originals broke up and we were going to change back to the originals, but then whats the point.
Great band similar careet to the Searchers. Hey Carrie Anne was originally written as ' Marianne " ... they like the rest of us were in love with Marianne Faithfly...Oh yes it was true love
He visto albums dela era Terry Sylvester firmados por Graham Nash. Sylvester queda 🤡
I saw Peter Noone did an interview and said, Herman’s Hermits, had the first chance at Stop, Stop, Stop, before the Hollies; but they passed it on to the Hollies. Is this true?
🤔 Oh, maybe they wrote it for the Herman's and then they rejected it? I've heard something similar but with Bus Stop which Graham Gouldman wrote specially for The Hollies. The Hermits passed it on when they came at Gouldmans' place for a new song (I think it was No Milk Today) or something like that so the song went straight to The Hollies and well we all know what it hapenned next. Although briefly after, The Hermits had recorded their version of Bus Stop...
Yes, No Milk Today was promised to Peter Noone. (From a interview with Graham Nash) Stop Stop Stop was writen by Nash/Clarke/Hicks. I don't believe it was offered to the Herman's Hermits.
