Ingrid Bergman great actress, great beauty she was luminous. I love every performance one of my favorites is Notorious with Cary Grant and the great Claude Rained
Ingrid Bergman's life and work were so brilliant and outstanding. She deserve this honor and tribute for all the roles she has done. She was also a caring and loving mother to her children.
This is truly one of the most impressing documentaries I've ever seen. Highly interesting. Fantastic! And Ingrid Bergman is outstanding ❤️ After seeing this you are absolutely aware what present Hollywood pictures are lacking. I'm also very fond of the pictures she made with Roberto Rossellini. But it was that Hollywood glamourasation that lifted Ingrid Berman almost in a realm of heaven. And in our hearts and minds forever. This is, to my opinion, a fact that one should be aware of.
Ingrid Bergman was definitely one of d greatest actresses in Hollywood golden era.She was so authentic in potraying all her characters, that she often left me in awe.Ingrid was on d same level with Hollywood great, katherine Hepburn. They were actresses who will never be replaced!
She was perhaps greater than even the greatest Hollywood actresses. “Foreign” actresses were often the best. Aha! “She didn’t want to be a Hollywood cliché.”
Very True. Thank you, Ingrid Bergman, your Truthfulness to Yourself is, was Amazingly beautiful. Have enjoyed each film, still do. Your life is inspiring to many of us women. RIP
@@elainelosee7974 Yes. I agree... Ingrid was a magnificent actress... so devoted to her career and ART...... Thank you for giving the world ...... all the great movies you played in.....My only disappointment in life is never to have had the chance to see you in person......!!!! Rest In Peace beautiful Lady.....!!!!
Great actress and great beauty are almost understatements. She exuded true star quality which is a certain unique energy not bestowed on many. Unfortunate that she was misunderstood and misjudged by so many only to end up on a pedestal again. Met Liv Ullmann once and she's another very tall, big boned Viking woman, another great actress and beauty and strong woman. Both very down to earth people along with the late great Colleen Dewhurst. Ironic that both Ingrid and Colleen both died at the same age of 67 from cancers because they were huge smokers! The late great actress and humanitarian Rosalind Russell also died in her 60s from breast cancer because she was also a big smoker. The late great Yul Brynner also died from lung cancer because he was also a huge smoker and made a TV commercial for the American Lung Assoc against smoking. Same with the late great actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn another lifelong chain smoker along with the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, another chain smoker who passed away from cancer! Ditto for the late great actor and humanitarian Paul Newman another lifelong smoker who also died from lung cancer! There's a video on RU-vid of Yul Brynner smoking while water skiing, now that's a major addiction! May they all rest in peace.
i love how Humphrey Bogart attributed his new found leading man "love interest" success to Ingrid Bergman, after making Casablanca together. he had always played these character baddies, and he said something like, " I am the same man that i always was... I haven't changed. But when Ingrid Bergman looks at a man with the light of love in her eyes..". i am heavily paraphrasing, but that is the gist. I never forget his tribute to her, and have to agree with that ( that, and the unexpectedly delightful production values of Casablanca, made Bogart the big hero )
I love Ingrid's movies. I just saw two of her movies I never even heard of, called Goodbye Again with Anthony Perkins and Yves Montad. Anthony Perkins played such a sweet character. No Norman Bates but still just as powerful. The other movie is Arch of Triumph with Charles Boyer and Charles Laughton. I recommend them for any Ingrid Bergman fan
A beauty beyond beauty... In my opinion the last words from Anthony Quinn about her "inner glowing light", are the best tribute to this unforgettable great woman and legendary artist. Very touching documentary, thanks a lot for it. 💖💖💖💖💖
It's strange...Just before I watched this, I was commenting to my husband about her luminous quality, then I heard Anthony Quinn say the same thing here.
She's always been one of my favorites. I thought she was a great beauty with classic features and when she acted I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was so strong!
What a woman..actress shinning soul.thank you for this tribute to a career so full and varied life. To live true to oneself is a gift to life itself..the love loss Ingrid experienced in early life..so tragic..she turned into a empathetic actress. R.i.p.beauty.
She and I have the same birthday, and finding this before my birthday, which is in a few days, is such a treat! She's been my favorite actress since I was nine! ❤️
Naturally, I can't say I personally knew her, however, I must say she was not only a magnificent beauty, but seemed a beautiful Soul as well.. Her talent in film continues to be as brilliant today, as the day she began her career, and am grateful it's all on film! A most gifted Actress..♥️♥️
OMG. Anna. Magnani .....one Magnificent actress. Did she ever win an Oscar. ? I'm not sure,. But she made a phenomenal film with Marlon Brando back in the 50's. (Forgot the title). But I'll never forget it ..one of the best dramas of all time ...
My mother sat on a flight to Paris in first class and sat next to Ingrid the entire flight. They chatted and chatted. I’m not surprised in the least. They were European women, successful career women, mothers, Grandmothers and had very full lives.
Yes, two wonderful Women. Not surprised that they Chatted, that how Genuine Ingred was, open to all She met. How proud you must Feel, great Memory. Thanks for sharing!!!
I am in awe of this most beautiful of women, Ingrid Bergman. Her talent was beyond description. She will forever be remembered for the many great performances she gave the world.
I love that she was so self-possed with not only the pressure from the studios when they tried to change her, but in owning her own life in the face of the horrific public backlash when she went to Italy. I think she demonstrated well that in order for others to make you feel badly about yourself, you have to give them permission.
@@josephine1465 please stop your morality judgements.... its so unkind. Spend some time trying to learn to think ..it takes lifetimes...but it's worth it...
Ingrid Bergman was a superb actress and one of Hollywood most beautiful women.D first movie I saw her in was,for whom d bell tolls, and she immediately stole my heart.I saw most of her movies after that, and always make sure and watch any that is showing on TV.Her beauty and class was awesome I have nothing against d young stars in Hollywood, however its impossible to replace d former generation.
What a GREAT DOCUMENTARY. I have just finished reading her book for the third time..through the years. And STILL find her STORY FASCINATING AND SUCH AN INSPIRATION ..SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PERSON ..AND HONEST..YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN INGRID..💗💗💗
A grand lady! It was Hollywood spin doctors that tries to create a image that is not real. I am glad she didn't surrender to that evil. It is people that put actors & actresses on pedestals and make these people idols. She followed her hearts desire! That's what made her unique.
Ingrid was a truly great actor. I was not aware her entire family died by the age of 15. She had a great acting career. My favorite movie is Indiscreet. May her soul Rest In Peace.
Physical beauty was not of her efforts, talented acting...one is or isn't...BUT Integrity, Honesty, Dignity...THIS, then can be her praise, her work, her fame of lasting imprint, against those who would want to rule cities, command armies, control countries, and destroy humanity.
That’s a top star and a beautiful woman and Ingrid Bergman.. She was always beautiful..Ingrid had so many losses but she strived to be accepted in college Royal dramatic school.
my parents had recorded this on VHS and we wld watch this documentary over and over again. thank you so much. Ingrid Bergman brought us so much joy then and still does!
Ingrid's mom was quite a beauty in her own right, but Ingrid was more beautiful than ever when I first saw her in Yellow Rolls Royce and in Cactus Flower.
How sad that today leaving one’s husband and child for another man would be seen as commonplace. Where’s the sympathy for those abandoned and betrayed.
I agree 👍 💯.... acting, portraying someone or something other than yourself... will eventually cause one to forget... who they actually are or use to be!
That is so true. Breaks my heart for that little girl. Probably asking herself what she did wrong that her mother came to choose a complete stranger over her. No child should ever have to go through that.
She was one of a kind. Beautiful, talented and confident to be herself. I didn't know she had such a traumatic childhood. She died when I was 2.5 months old. RIP Ingrid. You will live forever in the hearts of those who loved you and in the splendid movies that we can still enjoy.
I love this !! Not only because I am from Sweden no its because we are very proud of Ingrid and she was so such a strong women !! Never to be forgotten !!
She's a fine actress who can convey many different emotions easily and convincingly. She's also strikingly pretty and lovely. A very unique beauty. I think that's because she's a mixture of German and Swedish parents, the two nations which I believe have the most beautiful people on earth. I wonder if German-Swedish marriages are commonplace. Do many Swedes speak German and how do they learn? Is Ingrid a German or Swedish name? Thank you if you can answer.
Dear Karin, You are lucky. I am half Swedish, but here in Prague where I live, I am often called "The Swede" Trapped inside , I am watching Swedish things on youtube. I feel both connected and sad. You are correct, never to be forgotten.
@@emrebilgi I did a little bit of research into the name "Ingrid": It is an old Norse name and is actually mentioned on runestones (rune texts inscribed on slabs of stone circa 1000 years ago, in the viking age). The meaning of the name is "Ing (which is the name of a god)" + "beloved". During the decades after WW2 the German language hasn't been very popular in Sweden. It has been taught in school, not as the first foreign language (which is English) but rather as the second or third. Today German is hardly taught at all. Sweden get a lot of German tourists, so we should try to learn more of it, but somehow it isn't very popular these days.
its not whereu come from that makes a person.ingrid was a one of.she was ßo genuiñe. a real good human being.aand it showed on and off the screen.she was a truly0 wonderful person.
I have two favorite actresses, Ingrid Bergman and Sophia Loren. Neither of them classic beauties, but each absolutely stunning. And both of them exuding the very essence of womanhood in their various aspects.
The English narrator sounds like John Gielgud, but not quite. Does anyone know? There is no credit for the narrator. Never mind, I googled Gielgud and found it among his credits.
Que talentosa, que linda eres. De todas las estrellas que hay en el cielo tu estrella brilla mas poderosa de todas. Gracias haber conocido a Vd, sus hihas, y su vida.
Don't know about anybody else but I was in tears by the end of watching this show! Even if you only watch everything from 1:06:18 to the end of the credits that section alone is a superbly poignant summary of her life.
Where she did a screen test. It said she had no makeup on. Come on she had red lipstick on eye pencil on her eyebrows and face makeup on. Why do they lie? The woman is beautiful with or with out makeup.
