Actually, Hollywood Squares helped Burt out early in his career, when things weren't going so well. He never forgot that. When his career took off, he still would come back occasionally, as a thank you for the help they gave him. Shows the kind of man he is.
It would have been nice if they had most of the cast of The Electric Company on The Hollywood Squares as well as regulars Rose Marie Paul Lynde and George Gobel or when they did their STORYBOOK SQUARES bit--THEY SHOULD HAVE DID "THE ELECTRIC COMPANY SQUARES".

What was that odd bird screech Peter Marshall abruptly made... Weird... maybe it was that very funny but subtle one liner straight faced answer Karen Valentine made.
