Mark & Cristina welcome members of the original “Dynasty” cast. John James, Pamela Sue Martin, Al Corley, Pamela Bellwood and Gordon Thompson all tell great stories about their experiences on the show.
@@shepardwilde4701she was DEFINITELY a totally different character! That wasn't Fallon and I never accepted her as the new Fallon. Tracy Scroggins should've replaced her. Emma should've taken the role of Monica Colby instead.
Pamela Bellwood always look to me, like a younger sister of Barbra Streisand! Btw, I'm so glad they found the original Fallon aka Pamela Sue Martin. I missed her so much!
They all look fabulous. Both women are beautiful, but I must admit I have always had a huge crush on Pamela Bellwood. Her beauty, her voice, his intensity delivered in such a reserved manner, truly a wonderful actress.
I always loved John James, or at least his character image, he was so sweet and always hated the way fallon(pamela sue Martin) treated him....such great acting, such a great show,...nothing like it today..💗💗
I was born in 79’, so I didn’t appreciate the show truly until now. I remember how popular it was though and my Mom loved it, but it always came on right around my bedtime! I’m watching it now in its entirety and they’ve just had the funeral for Fallon. I couldn’t wait to find out if Pamela Sue Martin was going to return, so I googled it around 3AM. I couldn’t sleep. I’m so devastated over Fallon. I know the character will go on now but I know it won’t be the same because Pamela Sue Martin’s Fallon was the best. She was truly irreplaceable. I’m so in love with Jeff and Fallon and was so happy that they were about to remarry. Now, the only reason I’m continuing to watch the show is because of Jeff. I love Alexis too and Claudia has grown on me…. All the main characters have. I was disappointed when they replaced the actor who played Steven too, Al Corley, but Jack Coleman’s version grew on me. He was great too! The show is on Prime right now and I’ve got about 4-5 seasons to go. I can now say, as an adult, that I see now why so many adults from my childhood days were always talking about Dynasty and my Mom’s getting a kick out of me falling in love with her old beloved show. It’s so great to see these reunion interviews and to know that most of the actors are still alive. RIP John Forsythe. 🌹
I was in 76 and I remember every Wednesday night in the 80s, my family would gather around the TV every Wednesday night to watch Dynasty. Like you, I was devastated even as an 8 year old in 1984 when Pamela Sue Martin didn't come back. I never accepted the other actress as Fallon.
Dynasty forever 👍 👌 ✌ ❤ love the characters, love the series and its casts especially the actors brilliantly fit to their roles, thank you for giving us unforgettable moments and experience above all.
Great to see this. They are all so, well, normal! Shame Al Corley didn't have more to say. Gordon Thomson always sees the funny side though, doesn't he!
Now I liked Dynasty, Even John forsythe said this interview and I agree with him, he said that Dynasty wasn't the classic Dallas was even doe it did well in the ratings ,it had Aron Speilling of course and was hard show make. I have to agree with John forsythe their. He knows what he talking about and great actor on Dynasty as well.
JJ and PSM's scenes were the best as Jeff and Fallon .. it wasn't the same when Emma Samms came on, didn't have that same chemistry .. and then came Miles :P
Always admired Corley for his principles in standing up to the producers & the writers. From what I've read, Al resented the way his character was required to flip-flop from gay to straight and thought the whole script idea was unbelievable & silly. Steven was originally written to be a gay character, but Spelling, Cramer, and the Shapiros bowed to public pressure thinking it was a bridge too far to maintain a recurring out, gay character on a popular primetime show. Corley subsequently resigned, rather than compromise
Watching the show now, its so blatant they were scared to develop Steven in a particular manner. The scenes with him and his boyfriends are hilarious. They hugged a lot and gave each other manly shoulder pats.
O my god when we were kids under ten years old we watched series the cast all actors actresses are very awesome now they became aged now Ihope all classical American tv series as dynasty and falcon crest Dallas have special RU-vid channels to remaind us of our beautiful childhood memories
I love that "looking like every other 60-something person in the country" is somehow "aging poorly." On a more interesting note, I love the genial rapport between them.
I was just a kid back then but I always had a crush on Pamela Bellwood (Claudia) . I don’t know what it was about her, she had a vulnerability and elegance about her.
To play the daughter of that other English lady Joan Collins? How dare they! Emma Samms' spirit must be looming over people enough to provoke unnecessary negative commentary.. Many viewers had reasons to appreciate both Martin and Samms as Fallon - and I think that's ok all around.
I just watched all 9 seasons on AMazon Prime instant video ----- wow - I wish I could find the reunion show they did a few years later, what a cliffhanger! :(
I love Al Corley is still very cute and handsome. I wish he was my boyfriend in real life. I will always still care and have a special place in my heart for Al Corley.
The "Amanda" character was effectively erased after the replacement actor departed nearly midway through Season 7; when Blake pondered over his children in an episode of Season 9, he never bothered to think of her!
Pam bellwood was awesome actress back in the early 80s playing a everyday house wife and recovery then a mental person then a rich working woman happy sad mad crazy just before her time
John and Pamela as Jeff and Fallon had the most chemistry of all the couple on the show. I hated that Pamela left the show, and try as I might -- just couldn't get into Emma Samms as Fallon.
I agree. I liked her as Holly on General Hospital, but she wasn't Fallon. It was only in the final season of Dynasty that the writers began to write Emma's Fallon more like Pamela Sue's Fallon
Hey guys give Al some chance to talk about his gay role back in the day.. That "Square Rooms" guy Al Corley still looks hot and handsome over the years..I must admit I had a terrible crush on Al. Too bad he's not talking enough here..
Back in '84, Gordon Thompson who is also there on the panel, hinted that " people shouldn't be fool by the loving relationship between Fallon & Jeff because the real actors (James & Martin by Season 4) seem to not like each other". The reason why PSM left the show was due to Joan Collins. I remember watching a documentary where Martin said , she felt it was unfair that Collins gets to kiss and sleep with all the hunks on the show (i.e. Michael Nader). I remember when she did leave the show and i felt very sad. Emma Samms TRIED her best at but, she only made the character wimpy and weird. Spelling should've casted Tracy Scroggins as Fallon #2 and Samms as Monica Colby. John James had better chemistry with Scroggins then with Samms. Either way, it made me smile yesterday when I came across this video and saw the original Fallon & Jeff reunited after 32 years. I so miss the 80s!!!
wow had no idea, thanks for the scoop. I wished they had really given Domonique Devereux (spelling?) more of a storyline, she was stunning and regal and she came on strong but they just threw her to the back burner, by not truly developing her to her full potential (a fierce match for Alexis). She was fierce when she first came on, and then the direction her character went i didn't like (begging for acceptance into the Carrington "Dynasty," that made her seem weak IMO, and then the intricate issues of race and race relations, class, and how she was conceived (through a hidden affair), i just wish they hadn't gone that route. I didn't like Emma as Fallon either, she truly sucked, she did better playing on General Hospital and yes, Tracy would have made a much better Fallon #2. I didn't like when they brought Amanda & the whole Moldavian storyline on, that's when it seemed to jump the shark, it was painful and hard to stay with the show during that timeframe (for me at least) and it gets rather blury from that point on (as far as storylines and plots afterwards), but the early seasons were the true gems. I know, i so miss the 80s, Dynasty was the 80s, it was the best, better than Dallas, and any other late soap that it rivaled (Knots Landing, Flamingo Road (which i vaguely remember)).
Also: i hated Adam when he first came on, he was just a spoiled and devious prick, he seemed to clean up his act as the seasons progressed, but the rape of the butler's daughter, and the poisonous paint thing with Jeff were just so wrong, he should have been more held accountable, but dear Mother Alexis really shelded him. And i didn't like how they brought on Adam and Amanda (how they were written into the show and how they were lost, switched at birth, etc.), just seemed so far-fetched, but then again it was the 80s and the storyline for such a show had to be over the top I suppose.
I totally agree with you on the characterization of Dominique. She was strong and bitchy character when she first join the cast. That bothered me that she needed validation from the Carringtons in order to be a important to the show. I liked that she gave Alexis a run for her money where Krystle only fought when "pushed". In addition, I also enjoyed when the producers brought Sable Colby into Season 9. Stephanie Beacham brought back that "catiness" that was missing when Ms. Carroll left the show. In my opinion, after the La Mirage fire, the 7th & 8th season of Dynasty sucked big time. I believe the producers knew this and was desperate to find an "arrival" for Alexis. Bringing Stephanie on, worked because Sable knew how to sling the "mud" back @ Alexis. I understand that you hated both Adam and Amanda but I actually liked them both. However, I don't condone rape. When I saw that scene between Gordon & Kathleen Beller, it did make me very uncomfortable. It also made Gordon Thomson uncomfortable too. During the 2006 Dynasty reunion, he said that episode was not his favorite because he had to keep pulling and ripping Kirby's clothes off. I found it odd that she fell in love with him during Season 4 and it was Alexis who ran her away. However, I always got a kick out of watching Jeff pound Adam's face in the ground especially that hotel scene during season 9 where Jeff vs. Adam & Sable vs. Alexis all in the hotel lobby. lol. Catherine Oxenberg was wrong to ask for more money especially when the she was still a newbie on the series. The replacement actress was horrible. The one thing that bothered me about Amanda disappearance was when the character was written out of the show. No of the Carringtons ever spoke about her again. In Season 8, Alexis would only refer to her "three children": Adam, Stephen and Fallon. I guess Alexis forgot all about the baby she had in London????
I really wonder if Pamela Sue Martin ever realized how much of a loss for the show her leaving was! Poor Emma wasn’t givin a chance to play Fallon really until season nine. We focus on the biggies like Alexis, but Alexis couldn’t be Alexis without the others.
Yes! People loved seeing wealthy people have problems. Valid! I loved these guys. If Al and Pamela Sue just not left the show it would've been so much better. Trivia.....Gordon never got to act with Al....he wasnt in the Reunion movie. 2 actors played each Carrington kid.
But remember when they first work together or one another, they don't know each other at first until they appear in the same scene. John James didn't know Pamela Bellwood until they appeared in a scene together.
I so loved Cristina Ferrari ! I am a product of the LA Talk Show ! John James was the best looking white guy on television! I had the opportunity to interact with him several times ! All I could do was stare at him ! He was a regular customer at my place of employment!
It's always a little risky doing a 5 minute "reunion" segment on a morning show because not everyone is going to get a chance to talk, and also they rarely looked the way they did about 30 years ago. Al Corley who played gay "Steven" put out a few albums back then and they are on youtube here with the original music videos. As for John James- I was just watching some of the old BATTLE OF THE NETWORK STARS shows and he was such a flirt who couldn't keep his clothes on. Aging really sucks.... lol
Actually this episode was 2-hours long. There were cooking segments, they showed off the dresses from the show. Pamela B. left half-way thru the show but the rest of the cast stayed for the entire 2 hours
why can't we have a new dynasty sequel with these actors ? they look great they can still run a show. what they were thinking when they made that beep remake a few years ago instead of doing a real dynasty sequel with the original cast back ? THERE IS NO DYNASTY WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL 80s CAST.
Notice how when they talked about the show being "groundbreaking", the interviewer made sure to cut Al Corley off from mentioning a word about his characters' homosexuality? Must have been some BS morning tv show.
No, it was Pamela Bellwood who talked over him. He pointed to Corley when he talked about being ground-breaking and Corley was ready to respond, but Bellwood interrupted. I don't think it was controversial 35 years later.
@@ivorytower99 People have had the LGBTQ’s agenda rammed down their throats in every aspect of their lives, maybe they thought they’d let people enjoy the nostalgia of a time when the normal among us weren’t marginalized
This was actually a 2-hour show. Home and Family was a daily 2-hour show and the Dynasty reunion took up the whole 2-hours with cooking segments and more talk of the show. Daily Motion used to have the full 2-hour episode but they've since taken it down. I wish I could see the full episode again. The best part was they re-imagined the Dynasty credits with the Home and Family hosts included.
Al Corley is still so beautiful and sexy. I as a gay guy growing up I had a crush on Al and as an adult I still have a crush on Al Corley. I just was never attracted to the second Steven, some men are probably, but not me.
This was an okay segment but I feel that the two interviewers kind of lost control of it in all of the laughter over the baby. I would have liked to hear more from the two males besides John James; they were all but ignored.
So glad that PSM is still with us. She stated that the reason she left the show is that she had chronic bladder issues. If she didn't take care of the problem? The result would've been deadly.
