Good tour of my former old Town..London has some beautiful architecture and Neighborhood's for sure&long may they last( As long as the local planning Org monitor and restrict some of the renovatios by crazy rich individuals or companies) who go over the top with buillding& never actually live in the property). Adding a Swimming Pool might seem nice, until it compromises ur neighbors foundations! And a Sw1 Postal Code says it all!
Hi Sinead, and greetings from Baltimore, MD, USA. I lived in London during my teens/early 20's and went to school and college there too. I just want to say how much I enjoy watching your videos. Especially since you cover some the areas that I lived in and some of the areas that I used to love to visit. I like the balanced approach that you take between talking about the history and the contemporary status of the neigbourhoods that you cover. I also love you accent. Keep up the good work and I'll look forward to seeing more of your awesome videos in the future.
Oh Sinead! It has been at least 4 million years!!! You are funny. I love the Belgravia area. The properies are very beautiful and perfectly maintained. It would be a dream come true to be able to see the inside of one or two. I bet they are immaculately designed and appointed. Wow.
I'm glad the Grosvenors have ownership of the area. Otherwise developers would have gone nuts ripping everything out and replacing with ugly 60s and 70s office buildings. There's no mega basement development either.
Fascinating story about the Grovsnors. They bought a cheap plot of land in area of London. The monarch at the time, I think it was Queen Anne, wanted a quite place for her court, and moved to same area. The price of the same land vastly increased, and the grosvners became very wealthy etc etc. Gosh talk abt being in the right place at the right time.
@@olivierolivier6080 It doesn’t work like that. There’s nothing stopping you from becoming similarly wealthy. It’s all down to yourself and your endeavours.
Thank you Sinead, that was a wonderful tour of an area of London that I know quite well as my late husband was from Chelsea, going back a few generations. His grand parents met in Kinnerton Street when both in 'service', he as a groom , she as a lady's maid. We often walked around the area which was full of memories for him and had a drink in The Grenadier or The Nag's Head. I love Orange Square and have eaten many times in La Poule au Pot,
A note about George Peabody. So revered on both sides of the Atlantic, his hometown, then known as South Danvers, Massachusetts, changed its name to Peabody in his honor.
Glad that you enjoyed the video, James! If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours ru-vid.comvideos. There is more where this came from.
Hi Sinead, thank you for showing us this beautiful elegant part of London, i absolutely love old buildings and architecture, i always think they could tell us a story or two. Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Hope you are getting your strength back. Great to see you back. Take care xx

Things have changed so much since I have been there but I do remember the history and going past Margaret Thatcher’s house while she lived there Thanx Sinead great job Enjoyed
Nice to see you out and about again. Fab video, Eaton Square always reminds me of the TV show 'Upstairs Downstairs'. Also a more recent drama called Belgravia about the development of the area.
Thanks lovely ❤ hope you're over the bug that's knocked you about!! Loved this one as l worked as a chef at the Audley in w1 in 1984/85. I used to wander these back streets and mews in our 'break' time after lunch service (remembering that Pubs used to close for 3 hours mid afternoon. We are hoping to be back next summer and arrange another private tour with you! Love from Wayne and Sue. Melbourne, Australia
Hi Sinead , we squatted in Eaton square in the late 70s - Our band rehearsed in the ballroom. What great memories. We were kicked out by the Grosvenor estate via group 4 .
Lovely place you picked this time for us Sinead. With all my trips to London and being such a huge Beatles fan I have yet to go to Brian Epstien's residence. I must explore Belgravia and of course stop by Brian's old place on our next trip in September 2025 ! I always mean to check Free Tours on Foot, but I know London so well now I tend to do our own but I will check you out next time. Catch you on your next adventure - Howard
Thanks so much, Sinead, for all the great content! Discovered your videos only a few days ago through the Jack the Ripper one on Ace's channel. I'm a long time Londoner but always learn something new about our vibrant city. You've found your niche and should continue creating these London tour videos for years to come. I hope that you will! I could listen to you all day long. :) All the best. 💖
Hi Sinead, this was fun. I laughed out loud at the thought of my 20-year-old mini Reggie parked up next to those supercars. He may be a bit spluttery, but he has character! 😄
Your narrative of Belgravia was excellent. I lived for two months in Lowndes Square in ‘74 & enjoyed exploring the various areas. Kudos for your stories. 👍

A very interesting tour trough a beautiful and amazing part of London ! Thank you so much for taking us with you on this magnificent trip and telling us so much of the history of this very nice part of the City , and thanks for sharing that with us ! Greets from The Netherlands !
I love London. I was stationed at RAF Uxbridge when it was the home of the Queen's color guard. One of a few Yanks there. Even though if I got a sever paper cut I'd bleed out what little British blood I have I have always considered England the mother country. Thank you for the tour of an area I was not very familiar with.
I have lived in my community all my life and have been surrounded by the most amazing structures and buildings on my door step we are blessed to have this where as the snobs in London paying all that dough to live on a terrace ect I live it everyday 🙏 but where not minted but we are rich I our history of the Georgian Quater Liverpool 8 and beyond ❤
Wow, didn't know about that family...thank you sinead not only do you entertain you educated me you sly girl 😊 hope you have a wonderful weekend, week ahead hope you feel better ❤

Aww, sorry ypunwere ill, Sinead. It's good to see you back and sharing another charming and fun walk. I really enjoyefpd learning about the Grosvenors and Thomas Cubitt's influence on the development of this beautiful neighborhood. Thank you for entertaining and inforing us. Cheers!
I was at Eaton hall in Cheshire recently for their open day. I visit their graveyard fairly often as it is so beautiful as grave yards go, to sit in and relax. I often wondered where in London they had property. They own more than you can imagine, including Liverpool one shopping centre, shopping places in America, Hong Kong and tons of property besides. Staff alone is in the thousands. Thanks to their ancestors
Super Video Sinead - just love your accent - as others. Yes, some of those London houses are the best & so classy. Georgian is the tops though I am glad my flat in York St. W1. with me at the top was only 4 stories + a basement. Easier in the South West now! Bless Badger.
Great to see you Sinéad I'm sure your super busy with tours love your channel sending warm vibes from Ireland ✨🕊️☘️ thinking of you the other day does seems like four million years 😂
Excellent vid... packed full of facts, and very watchable. A long term resident in Eaton Square was Jean Dawnay, laterally Princess George Galitzine. She had connections to Bletchley Park , was an original 50's Dior model and married a Russian prince! She had a country cottage in Hampshire, next to a cricket pitch, and the cottage where I lived.
Hi! Sinead. Hello from Chula Vista California. It's been awhile since I viewed your channel. But, here I am again loving this tour location is so lovely. ❤
I realĺy enjoy the video, Sinead. This place is so interesting, and the history is so important. Belgravia Tour, an excellent lesson of London with you, my so beloved ( and gorgeous as always) friend Sinead. Kisses from Barcelona. I ❤ you, Sinead O' Leary! 💋💋💋💋

At no. 1 Belgravia Square is the Romanian cultural institute the building is been bought by the Romanian government, it was former Romanian ambassador residency. Is a beautiful building. Inside and outside I been inside many times

This area is beautiful, like a planned neighbor hood with all buildings in the same paint color. I did some research on the criteria for a blue plaque. Do they ever recognize two or more places for the same person? Garden Lodge does not have a blue plaque but Freddie's family home in Feltham does. To me Garden Lodge represents him more than Feltham
There used to not be restrictions on blue plaques so some people (like Ghandi) have more than one. However, for many years the rule has been only one per person :)

Thanks a million for another interesting video. Belgravia is a lovely are but why I hate white color on buildings and in love with the London houses made from the red bricks and probably because white color is widely used worlwide in the hospital procedure rooms...What an analogy 😂 Ladies and Gents, I like it so much when you say that. Maybe we will hear Comrades 😂 so it will be ..Ladies and Gents and Comrades 😊 Anyway, the red lipstick is amazing and you were born to wear it. Probably CHANEL!? And what can be better in life as to wear the red lipstick and a signature Chanel n.5 perfume and living in posh Belgravia area of LONDON From NW Moscow with ❤
Thank you sinead for sharing your experiences and another fantastic video much respect and appreciation for your videos love the channel excellent content ❤love from Dublin

Chris Evans live(d) at 7 Wilton Crescent. Not sure he does since getting married years ago. Saw him many times each morning leaving for his radio show job
So interesting to see this part of London with which I’m not familiar at all. No doubt you’re aware that the Grosvenors own just about all of Mayfair as well. Imagine how much they must rake in from rent and lease fees.
@@ToursbyFootLondon I’ve mentioned the Farm St church to you before. That’s one patch of Mayfair that the Grosvenors don’t own. Fr Dominic, whom you’ve met, told me this.
