Thanks for the answer about communicating with each other and with you. This is already a community. We can learn a lot from each other. [for instance, I was whining about my hot kitchen in southern California and a woman chimed in from the Philippines! Now I know I have a warm kitchen!] I can hardly wait!

I am can’t wait to start your home baking course. As many people did, I started to bake break during the pandemic from your videos. Folks, never mind conversions! Do yourself a huge favour and buy a SCALE. They cost less than a 10 pound bag of flour.

@@patriciathomas2746 its way easier to convert grams kilograms and when dealing with water, just weigh it, 1 litre is 1 kilo. Milk is a touch heavier but not much heavier.

LOVE the idea of being able to post a photo and ask the question "what did I do wrong?!" and get a (not too judgemental) answer from the club community. Looking forward to starting my breadmaking journey 😊

Re: ingredient conversions. US AP flour has the same protein content as UK SWBF. I do use bread flour for breads I want to be chewier, but for most bread, AP is fine. I'm super excited about the Home Baker's Club! This is a brilliant idea.

Greetings from California! I really enjoy your videos. You're funny and very knowledgeable. I made your recipe for yeasted bread 2 times and it turned out great. I had to adjust the water content though I used King Arthur Bread Flour and 20% whole wheat flour. Does the Home baker's club purchase come with the recipes included or do we also need the book?

For the group interaction and self help, I would advise ready built system such as discord, it's quick and easy to set up and best of all its free to use (although advanced functions do come at a cost)

So if I've understood this right, by paying a fee I get access to a plethora of videos that instruct me on many aspects of breadmaking, and those videos will be available on demand? Most of that is already freely available - as I understand it, the difference will be in the pacing of the videos. Have I understood correctly? I'd like to be sure what I'd be signing up to, and what it would give me that I don't already have. Thanks Jack.

Yes and no peter :-) You'll get full start to finish bread making videos with me in a real time pace you can follow along with recreating that kind of "in class" environment in your home as well as cooking videos and recipe of what to do WITH your bread and educational content structured in an organised manner to browse and learn at your leasure with zero distraction and interruption. If you're unsure you can always try for a month and see if it's for you or not. Hope that helps!

Are you imagining the Homebaker's Club will take the place of Patreon? I currently pay a monthly Patreon donation that may be similar to what you're planning to charge for the club, so may switch over to the club.

Ah this crossed my mind Roberta! When I started patreon I kind of saw it as a "stop gap" for those who wanted to support with the thought that many of you might move over. I fully get it though that some may like to contribute to Patreon without the need to be a member of the club.

Jack, just fyi…Americans need not feel like they can’t have the products you suggest. Most stores country-wide carry Bread Flour, AP, Cake as well as alternatives for gluten free diets. And if someone simply cannot find the necessities in the market….there’s always Amazon. Great luck in this endeavor.

I'm in but I don't want to pay a recurring fee. Reason being I am an elderly person and I stay away from these recurring payments in case I should pass, I don't want my husband to continue to be charged for something that he won't be using.
