My mother was 100% Tejana! I'm the only one of 7 kids that had my Mamas heart for tejano music ! I went to Texas and was so over joyed that the stations were all Tejano music
I was born in Houston but moved to Michigan at the age of 11. The might've taken the boy out of Texas but never could take Texas out of the boy. I'm always listening to Tejano music.
Happy July to all my familia blood or not , In el pueblito de Sharyland, Texas, for those that don’t know of it , it’s a lil town between McAllen and Missin. , I live in California now, but I miss my home town got fam. Yeah, I understand what you mean I'm a Tejana too and lived in Arizona for years. It's similar but not South Texas!! Even the food taste different on the west coast. Viva Tejas y Tejanos!!
My heart goes to the surviving family for losing their beloved sons and players since 1997 when they were so young. Life is too short and we never know when we depart. God bless them for the music they started and left us to enjoy. Let's hope their music is here to stay!!!

Fucken shit! ...97 dislikes ..really????... I guess there's 97 people that don't know shit about shit period! Lol the original Hometown Boys were and still are the best in Tejano music... period!!
there is some groups today that still sound like this they just newer generation too be honest it doesn't sound to bad honestly but i agree early Tejano is amazing never gets old thank the Germans who gave the Mexican an accordion to play with it and the Irish with polka and the keyboard is my favorite in Tejano music. Desde Nuevo Mexico a mi Querido Houston, Tx suvale hasta arriba todo el pinche volumen
Everytime I hear these guys I think of my brother who introduced me to their music. RIP, covid took him in Feb 2021, before vaccines. I miss him so much.
I was raced in the barrios. Conjunto music everywhere. Cantinas in every corner. On my way to store I would peek and see the couples dancing to great music My grandfather always had the radio on to this music and even our Dr. The famous Dr Hector Garcia had the radio in his office playing to this music. It's in our blood and I love it. Especially when you're dancing with a good dancer. Cheek to cheek! 😂❤
2 years later and I am still listening to the Hometown Boys, love ❤️ their music! From Pontiac, Michigan, formerly from Pharr, Texas! Miss my Valley!!!
I grew up listening to the hometown boys.. N I'm proud to say now.. My cousin Ernie Bravo is now their accordion player.. He's the accordion assassin !
I spent almost a year workin in Las Cruces N.M back in '95 . And being from Wiconsin , I grew up with Polka music in my blood . So it was to my GREAT satisfaction when I found a radio station from El Paso which played Tejano . It was my constant companion during working , and non-working hours . LOVE The Hometown Boys !!!!!!
I grew up with this music!! I met my husband in 97 and little did I know he loved Tejano. We danced our butts off back then. I was a groupie and I followed Michael Salgado to EVERY concert here in San Antonio back then. 🤣 We loved Hometown Boys, Eddie G, La Tropa F. Those were the days when real tejano was in!!! Ahhhh to go back to the good ole days!!!! 🤗❤️
