The Homophobic FC Leader 

"I didn't want to be part of the drama, so I blocked them." - This is something I legitimately cannot understand. This person was reaching out to OP and they ignored the one person that was trying to warn them by considering it "drama". I don't think this person deserved what happened to them at all - but they likely could have saved themselves a lot of pain if they'd taken a moment to hear the other side of the story. Y'all - sometimes when stuff that seems like "drama" is happening, you should actively be paying attention rather than turning away and hiding from it.

Let this be a lesson to you all. The person who gets singled out and exiled from a friend group likely offers a small truth of the situation. They are often exiled to hide any wrong doings of the side that did the shunning.

I got kick for being Korean and straight. I didn’t even lie that I was straight. Being midlander was huge part. After I help find them fc house and help with housing glitching. “Imagine being straight in 2022.” Was last thing they said to me before kicking me. But my friend who bi can stay.

Just imagine adults making drama like high school kids in a game full of story content and lots to do. Instead you turn it into a some playhouse of sounding like twitter.

We (my coleader and I) started an FC because of all the drama that was happening in our old FC. Half the active players followed us to our new FC, and we’ve kept fairly free of any drama ever since. Any time we recruit a new member we try to be very supportive, but because we are small yet most move on to bigger FCs. Still, we’ve bought members houses, helped them level, made them whatever gear they need and more. We try our best to give them a good experience. We have a variety of people and we love them all. This is all to say that there are those of us who try to be good FCs to those who join us, so keep on looking.

Kate sounds like an insecure 13 year old. Id my FC leader was acting like that the first day I would've blocked them and left before Any of it got to that point.

Why can’t FC leaders just be chill? I’m a leader but I don’t really do anything or make anyone do things. I just have buffs on and my friends do their things. We will sometimes hang out to catch up cuz we all play differently in ff14. An fc full of dorks.

People are crazy. The only nice people I know are only nice for a few weeks or a few months before their true colors comes raging out. I had a FC leader who was cool for about a week before telling us we needed to give him the million gil we received for being on a preferred server and reaching level 30 so he could buy a plot. Very pushy about it. Apparently we didn’t need the money for anything else.

I still remember that one time I was promoting my FC, and I said something along the lines of, "LGBT+ Friendly," and then some dude was bitching about it. I just couldn't help but laugh because if I was pushing for shit like, "if you don't join our FC, then you're homophobic," that would've been one thing, but I said nothing like that at all, so it felt so random and unwarranted.

My fc had multiple dramas… We still have our FC house! I don’t remember some of the details but my fc really likes to joke about it a lot and we think it’s hilarious. Luckily the people that are left are memelords and shit posters.

An online mmorpg is not a place to facilitate discourse on equity, leftism and progressiveness. (As in, if one is a mentally vulnerable person/shy/person who happens to be marginalized, honestly empower yourself through your own skill and hard work first by eg studying or grinding your own journey through whatever field of your choice.) I'm saying this as a progressive, leftist who is pro-equity myself by western Canadian/American definitions. Online games are owned/populated by 6 - 12 year old mindsets, stating that with no connotation. It's the truth, watch some psychology video's, healthygamergg, read a psychology book, take a few psychology courses if you're in school instead if one needs empowerment. Honestly, as a fan of playing FFXIV myself, it is my genuine advice that one shouldn't every really 100% trust members of an online gaming community to act diplomatically, equitably and progressively. Games are a beautiful thing!, just don't take human encounters one makes in games to have any real potential of being a genuine relationship. (Generally speaking.) Peace and love.
