Bought my Firebalde new in 2002, the legendary 954. In my view the best model ever made being Baba San's last, certainly the lightest one. Have raced it at every UK circuit plus Spain, Portugal, France Germany and Italy. In November it will go to USA for the lengendary Laguna Seca circuit. Fabulous machine and a great YTube video!
This brought tears to my eyes...what an amazing piece of work! In 1991, as a lowly college student with a Katana 600, all I wanted was a Hurricane...the white one with red and blue details. In 1992 that all changed when I began to see these insane (at the time) 900RRs wiping the streets clean with anyone who tried to race them. What a pleasure it was to see and listen to the people who designed these wonderful machines. All these years later, as I reminisce on those years spent on two (sometimes one) wheels in South Florida and I'm more than proud to say that there's a Fireblade sitting in my stable right now...and always will be as long as I'm able to ride. Thank you to Honda and to these men who reached for something more than what was already out there.
Mr. Baba-san, Mr. Fukunaga-san, Mr. Ishikawa-san and finally Mr. Hosokawa-san all in a room with different era and different life but harmonized through the same hardship and ideal; to develop the best FireBlade and Fireblades of the era. Its crazy that 4 of these lead engineers sat together and shared with such young mindset. I thank you all for your wonderful bikes! Thank you Honda! Still riding my 954 and its a thrill!!
I owned a 93 and 98 model CBR900RR and have to say even with all this new technology it was by far the best engineered motorcycle I’ve ever owned. It will always be my favorite motorcycle and will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you Honda Engineers for your passion of creating such an amazing machine.
I likely wouldnt even be able to carry on in conversation with any of you gentlemen . Considering i cant speak Japanese. But know. That you are some of my heros. Truly.
