As the Hoppers ARE Baptist, Dean’s statements are clearly joke. He has been trying to tell a few more since his father hasn’t been able to travel lately. Claude’s jokes can be a lot more pushy… Neither of them intend to be offensive
The Baptist that he is familiar with probably are dead. The real Baptist were shouting and praising long before Azuza street. And they didn't need a quartet for hire to get them excited. You're welcome!
As a long time member myself of a Gospel Singing group, the quartet needs to not focus on how many are showing emotions in the crowd. Nor should a crowd watch a group to see if they themselves show any emotions. Their is a fine line between the movement of the Spirit and getting worked up in emotionalism. Nowhere in the list of the fruit of the Spirits is emotion mentioned in scripture. I have been to pentecostal services where it was 90% emotional and couldn't jump high enough and always seem to stop dancing when the music stopped. I have been in Baptist Churches where their was not much movement but there was a great Spirit of worship. Sometimes quartets get frustrated at the crowd if they don't respond in a certain way. In professional singers, some will do the hand waving and glory to God quotes at certain points in a song each night to rev the crowd. Is that the Spirit or just a stage performance act.? Not against emotion, but i have seen and been places that it felt more like a football game shouting than a sweet Spirit in the house. I prefer the decent and in order service personally.
I’m so sorry you don’t like Baptist. I guess I won’t come and see you or buy your merchandise anymore. I may be a Baptist but most of all I’m a Christian and I love Jesus……God Bless you.

All judgements will be Jesus himself doing the judging. Sometimes Gospel Singers get frustrated at the crowd for not responding as they would desire them to be. Their is a fine line between true movement of the Spirit and emotionalism in the flesh. I have been to many singings of professional groups, and observed some that would say the same praise the Lord glory to God line in the middle of a song or lift a hand at the same exact moment in the song, was that the Spirit moving them or just part of a rev up the crowd effort as part of their stage performance in a effort to work the crowd. I would hope it was a true Spirit leading them than a effort of the flesh but will leave that judgement of singers to the Lord as he said, judge not that ye be not judged.

Dear Kim, please be careful with what clothes you’re wearing because the dress which you wear in this concert is too short for a Christian woman. God bless you!
