Position the knife. Grind. Hone. This is the simple grinding principle of the HORL® Sharpener. A new knife sharpening method is being redefined with the rotating diamond grinding disc which is guided gently along the cutting edge with a constant grinding angle. This combination guarantees an especially even and reproducible sharpening result for your favourite knives.
This is not an infomercial. This is the real deal. We expand and explore different sharpening systems. You will see in the video that we had turned down this opportunity. We did not be able this direction we wanted to move. I thought this was a copy of something, but it turns out it was the original. I challenge them to send it to me and we'll see what's up. Turns out it was extremely good and we are happy to share this item with you. This video is just an introductory video to let you be introduced to the product itself. We will explore sharpening later. We've already used the system many times, and had great success. We're excited to show the success to you. We have ideas on how to improve it, but it really does work great on its own. With the diamonds as the originator of the cutting system, you're able to cut into any metal and get a new Apex on the edge of your Blade. This is good for culinary use as well as outdoor knives. We're excited at the potential. There are a series of upgrades that we share with you. Please explore all of them. We will include links below. We are not paid in any way, shape or form for this information. We do not have any commissions being paid on any of the links provided. And no form where we compensated. We're just giving you the news on how it performed.

Nice concept, but I prefer freehand on stones. Nice review, by the way.

I prefer to sharpen on stones. Some I have purchased based on your whetstone wars recommendations. However, my kids would probably opt for something like this system based on the convenience. I’ll watch your followup video. This may be an option for Christmas presents if you think it’s worthwhile.

I'd like to see you do a review of the Hapstone T1. Less than $50, and will handle any angle you wish. Also promotes being able to freehand sharpen by learning the muscle memory to be able to go completely without guides.

An interesting concept for easy sharpening. But I feel the cost of the system with all its accessories would outweigh the cost of a decent set of wetstone's, which are far more versatile than that system. Ps I do like it, but it's not for me.

The suction of the open side of the blueberry does more to holding it in place than the weight. Also putting multiple in a row you add the forces up. I guess the first berry cuts better than the third right?

I offered one of these to a friend that wasn't willing to learn to sharpen on stones, he loves it. I think the main drawbacks are the height adjustements you talked about and maybe the price.

Interesting video, I appreciate your take on this system as I had been wondering if it was any good or not. Cool.

I'm finding it hard to believe this is going to happen. 😮

In the same way that a cook should test everything he cooks, why demonize a sharpener for trying different methods to sharpen? I don't think everyone has the time or ability to learn the "traditional" way. greeting from mexico

Its a nice system. But do not buy the premium set!! Instead buy the belgium brocken discs. These are way better and more durable.

Surprise, surprise. I wasn't sure this would perform to your standards. Thanks for the heads-up. See if TS Prof will send out a sharpener out to you. I'm saving up for the TS Pro. 👍

Seems to me like you would have to remove the knife from the magnet and switch it to the other side every single time you want to do alternating passes. That is my WHOLE sharpening routine, even with a knife with an unsharpened edge (I am a knife maker). My kitchen knives have such thin edges that I only do alternating edge leading strokes, and this system would be so inefficient, having to remove the knife and flip to the other side every single sharpening pass. Speaking of pass.......I'll pass on this. Even to recommend it to someone. I like the concept, but it doesn't fit most people's sharpening process. There is another system gaining traction on social media. I forget the name. It's red colored, it has a rod that the knife sticks to with magnets, and you can use whatever stone. But again the problem with that is you have to remove the knife from the magnet and flip it around every time you do an alternating pass, edge leading or trailing. I think this system is good from the "scrubbing" motion of removing steel in a hurry, but for the actual refining of the edge, just too much hassle to remove the blade from the magnet, flip it over, just to do the other side. I bit critical, I know I am. Some may not find that inefficient at all, but I personally couldn't stand doing that. I hope that makes sense.

As always, too much talk and little to no demo. I really try to like your videos. Honestly. Besides, what do you mean that the German knives are soft? Compared to what.

@@johnjomp Not speaking for Greg, but usually when people talk about German knives being soft, they mean compared to quality Japanese steel.
