The investigation of the murder of Bella Bond began with the body of a little girl inside a plastic bag found washed ashore on Deer Island in Winthrop, MA.
From the day Bella's body was discovered on June 25, 2015 to mid-September 2015, investigators worked tirelessly to spread awareness of the case throughout the community to garner tips that would help them identify the child who became known as 'Baby Doe'.
Their search efforts led to a tip that turned the investigators' attention to a couple in Dorchester. Thus began the Bella Bond trial. A case comprised of heartbreaking evidence of how a child was harmed by the very people who were meant to protect her.
