That's always what I thought they were. They're literally hunting you in the game, their job is quarantine enforcement. You don't see them until you reach a certain level of infection, and they leave you alone once you're cured.
Though it does explain why alot of the lifepods could be broken and the people gone lifepod 3 and 7 should have been fine for at least a little while also i forgot what lifepod the fake doctor was in but he showed signs of the chaara warpers could have killed him
The scraps theory makes sense bc the pda is clearly a form of ai and can still connect to the altered data base which allows all our info we gather to be sent there as we try to survive, the pda also manages to provide certain amounts of pregathered info for when the aurora blows and when we land and first start to craft things. Alters prob has been sending people here for a while
Fun fact about the gargantuan leviathan is that that skeleton is suspected to be a teen not a full-grown specimen Also Margaret was said to have survived by eating the reaper being as leviathan class lifeforms all produce strains of enzyme 42 although only the emperor's enzyme can cure it this mean that Margaret slowed the Kara by ingesting enzyme 42 through the reaper
3:33 the water level cant raise purely on another plane entering the orbit, Maybe this part of the Earth is an enormus ochean and the Land got somehow Levelled around the planet so that it stays on the bottom, but the water doesnt increase, this could be a precarious state that will be reversed buy the movement of the ground and Land will be again out of the water
I feel like precursors are called that because most of there tech has been dated far beyond humanity and as for there weapons being the same its probably because the design is just similar as stated before al-an says that our opposable thumbs are great meaning maby they had hands similar to ours at one point which would aslo mean there's a large chance there wepons and tools were similar too
Tbh that would be the best adaptation! To solve a deeper mystery and short-track some of the gameplay in a story or even include some scrapped ideas to spin it for the audience who know the story and add new elements
I like the theory of 456B is actually earth after Nuclear War but it doesn’t make much sense because subnatica takes place 100 to 200 years later from now and all the fauna and terrain would take millions of years to form and also the gargantuan leviathan has been there for 3 million years. Also we probably would have seen more signs of human life before like little tiny remains of buildings in the ground or something. Also there is the penguin looking things In bellow zero that look like evolved penguins so idk. But pretty cool theory. I also like to think there is much more leviathans out there on others places of the planet because below zero takes place in one of the poles of the planet and there are so many different different leviathans so think about what else is out there because after you leave the planet in subnatica u see some of the planet and how big it is. I mean it can’t just be all void.
if u think abt it we have barely explored the Ocean in current time so we cant rule out any type of animals that may or may not exsist even now. when it comes to past human proof like buildings there is a chance that those buildings were flattened by nuclear weapons but you would think there would be some kind of proof of past human activity.
Btw the penguin like creature probably just evolved similar to penguins because they live in a similar environment also @big_chungalard2 it would take a long time for the planet to become stable to a point where it isn’t radioactive as it would take a lot of nuclear weapons to flatten everything to the point where only a crater is left
13:00 they sort of did put survival equipment in the pods though. Theres flares, nutrient bars water, and some medkits in the storage of the lifepods. The radio exists to be able to send distress calls and the pods were only really made for short term survival.
@31:08 I always assumed the openings along its bottom were for tentacles or limbs without bone. Looking at it now though, it could just be the skull of a leviathan. Fossil fragments are found all the time. Anyway, fun video! Thanks for making it.
The ancient fossil with three eyes could've had a bunch of legs, seeing as slugs don't have bones. There's been concept art of a creature like this, so it would make sense
I've always felt like I was being watched in Subnautica, whether it be the safe shallows or near the entrance to the lost river, it felt like something was breathing down my neck, watching me like I watched the fish in my base; Knowing that eventually, they'd be food. To think that my paranoia may actually be valid is terrifying. Also, look at the Shadow Leviathan from Below Zero (Use the wiki bc aint lookin at it while its eating me whole) IT HAS SPIKES. Let me explain why this is terrifying. Animals evolve spikes to PROTECT FROM PREDATORS. What fish on sector zero that aint frozen is attacking a FLIPPIN SHADOW LETHIATHIN?!?!?!?
