I had thought Jake Abel was a wrong choice. But then I watched "The Host" and... Fell in love. He perfectly showed Ian's love, tenderness and feeling wrong about being a bad guy (at the beginning). He has something in his eyes that make me chills.
i am so excited for this movie. such an amazing book. and to the people who don't like twilight, it's NOTHING like twilight! i honestly think this is stephenie meyer's best written work. and i LOVE the cast! gaaaah i can't wait
i love the way they start talking like they are the characters hahaha "you treat her terribly...." "it's not true" "you smacked her.... ... " "it was an emotional moment" hahaha
This my favorite book everrr. And thats saying a lot. Even if you are not a fan of twilight, GIVE THIS A CHANCE YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. It is slow in the beginning, but honestly once you get past it, you will LOVE IT. I LOVE YOU IAN O'SHEA♥
The Host is one of the best books I have ever read. It isn't like twilight saga at all. And Ian is so so awsome! Jared... not bad (he loves Mel very much). But Ian... ohhh lord! Love him. So happy that Jake is acting Ian!!
I read your reaction, and wanted to comment on it, but now I can't see it anywhere. But here is my comment what I typed: PART 2 I am curious how they will do the inner talk between wanda and melanie. I reallllly hope they would let us see that, not just wanda saying that melanie is still inside without us hearing a talk between the two, it is an essential part of the book! xx
That's actually what I loved about the book. There really are no teams because its Wanda and Ian, and Melanie and Jared. Two different couples. I hope it's pulled off well in the film. :)
For sure! But it's WEIRD who they chose to play their parts because I think I mixed up the descriptions or something because I do like these guys, but I would've completely switched the actors with the characters. (Max is exactly what I pictured for Ian!) *hug*
*them talking about Wanda/Melanie* Jake: he treats her terribly Max: thats not true.. Jake: he slapped her. First meeting Max: It was an emotional moment. Me: DYING of laughter.
Max:and he's much more sensitive. Jake:and he treats her terribly. Max: it's not true. Jake:he smacks her. First meeting out the gate. I laughed so hard!!!!!!!
"We don't drive in England, it's too small." I have a feeling Max was subtly mentioning something that someone may have said to him, though I might be wrong. His face when he said it though...:D
Interviewer: What was one of the most difficult things you dealt with when you were on set? Max: Jake. :D Loved that! I'm glad that they're good friends like that.
"What is one of the most difficult things you've dealt with while you're in the set?" "Jake" Hahaha! Love The Host cast! So perfect for the perfect book!
I just about freaked out when i found out Jake was Ian. His like the perfect fit. I can see him in the caves and shirtless. Just finish re reading the book so not to forget and miss anything. God love him ♥♡♥
"And what about somebody who hasn't read the book and isn't really into sci-fi, why should they go and see this movie?" Because of Jake. Freaking. Abel!!!
i was lookin at the mortal instruments tralior when the host tralior appeared and i click on it and i litrally went the next day and bought it :) i fell proud that i finshed the book in 3 days :D
Yea! I think that they'll just have Melanie's voice, and then have Wanda speak out loud. But I wonder how that will work when there are other people around! haha xD I had the idea of having Mel's voice be harsher and more "angry", but have Wanda's voice be very soft and sweet (possibly scared) sounding. *hug*
Yeah, exactly! And I also imagined The Seeker to look like someone who is short with dark hair and scary eyes, not someone who is a model (Diane Kruger).. And for Ian, I imagined someone who looks like Ian Somerhalder, though the eyes of Jake match. I think he will do a fine job :) I just hope it's a good movie that does justice to the book
Max Irons is amazing. Plus it's good to know we Brits have such an incredible actor. Saoirse Ronan is absolutely phenomenal and Ireland is round the corner from England...? Does that count?
Haha, I was watching Max Irons' face when she asked that question. Of course I have no idea what he was thinking, but I like to imagine its something along the lines of "God I hope not."
I would love to see them both in this movie. I am not much of a sci-fy fan but it seems interesting. And Iwould also love to see Max in Divergent as Four. I really think he is perfect for the role.
I SOOOOO can't wait for this movie, and DESPERATELY hoping that they don't wreck it. Loved, loved, loved! the book! I wish they would adverise and hype this up a bit more though . . . no sneak peeks or anything . . .
I feel like they will unfortunately, but we can still hope! :) I definitely prefer Jake Abel, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Max Irons' interviews. The boy has some jokes up his sleeve.
PART 1 Yeah, I really hope so! Because when I read the book, the Seeker seemed so frightening, all combined with her appearance. And Diane just doesn't look like her. But you can't have all the actors look the same as the book, as long as they do their parts wonderful everything will be fine :) haha Yes, you are right! Someone who looks like Ian Somerhalder, but indeed younger and softer. But seeing this and the trailer I think Jake will do fine :)
Me too. They are so right though. It isn't a love triangle because they each have a partner. It just so happens that the two girls are stuck in the same body for a short while.
In this case, they may be comparing because the writer of The Host is the same as Twilight. Being that she's only released books of only these two subjects, it's the only other thing she's written. :)
I prefer him too! I liked Ian in the book too, but at the same time I really liked Jared and Melanie's romance, but Ian and Wanderer's romance was different and sweet and... I don't know .___. lol I loved the book! And I almost cried at the end because I thought that Ian was going to be left alone x__x
SPOILER! I read the end of the book yesterday, and was SOOOO happy that Wanda ends up with Ian. I felt that Ian was so kind and loving, kinda maked me fall in love with him too, haha :)
I wish they wouldn't make public that Ian falls for wanderer. When I first got the book I thought it would focus on a romance between wanderer and/or Melanie and Jared. Ian's romance with wanderer was a surprise, especially since the first time he meets Wanderer he wants to kill her. It was an unexpected romance, which I like. I wish they'd give movie goers the same chance to be surprised by it.
