After so many years of this design getting roasted by the comic community, I'm glad to see it finally get the recognition and respect it has always deserved.
@@cruelcraft5559 Same. This seems more grounded and fits with the idea its a bunch of Oscorp stuff Norman grabbed and modified. That animatronic mask everyone loves to bring up wouldn't have fit here.
Tbh I have never seen anyone spit on this design in my country but it must be said that in France American comics are a niche market. Ofc it sells relatively well but it has never been as popular as manga or European comics.
@@Gonzora Oh yeah, at least where I live everyone called this Goblin the lost Green Power Ranger, too goofy, and not close to the comics enough. Saw these opinions online as well. As someone who loves Power Rangers, was terrified by Dafoe, and didn't really care for the comic design in the first place, I felt like I was the only person who appreciated this design. Glad I was wrong.
@@Doiboy35Oh I see. Here at the release of the first film most Spider-Man fans only knew him through the cartoon and also grew up with Power Rangers, perhaps that's why this design didn't shock us. Also, I found this Green Goblin suit even cooler than Spidey Tobey suit but hey, maybe that's because I was and remain a fan of the Green Ranger. 👀 That being said, I'm giving here the vision I had as a child of the 90s, but perhaps French adult fans were also spitting on this design. Personally I especially remember the bashing on Venom from Spider-Man 3 but here I think it's international and deserved (but in the end, apart from the character design, this version of Venom remains the best movie adaptation... wich is depressing).
I know he's licensed after the NWH movie, but I'm kinda sad he doesn't have that chromaflair effect in the original movie. Where his suit shifts from green to purple in some lighting. It was clever way to integrate his two colors
I don't have any Hot Toys (maybe someday) but I was in pretty much the same state of euphoria when I got the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Twin-Pack by Threezero as a 30th birthday present!

Furthermore, to complete the transformation of me into a spoiled adult, my girlfriend gave me small gifts during the 29 days before my 30th birthday and on the big day the final gift was a replica of Lucius Malfoy's cane/wand. Tbh a weird guy like me is very lucky to have such kind loved ones in his life.
I remember my first hot toys. You never forget your first time opening the box. It was Deadpool from his first movie. So beautiful. Then I got Batman from Justice League, Cap from Endgame and, Spidey from Civil War.
It's as if Toy Biz got the performance enhancer and Hot Toys took hold of it. Their greatest creation. Bringing to Spider Criminal what he always wanted. A Goblin beyond his wildest dreams.
I ain’t even gonna lie. Spider criminal’s reaction is completely valid for back in the day I always wanted to get hot toys figures but couldn’t afford them and always wanted a Sam rami green goblin and 10 years later he finally gets released and am in fact also ECSTATIC!!!
Favorite Spiderman villain hands down! Loved the review Criminal! You probably know more than o do about the character but was his helmet supposed to have some purple on the top? May of been some concept designs not sure. Anyway, I hope to add a hot toys in my collection someday!
I believe in the first movie the purple was how light reflected off of it. Would have been cool if they figured out a way to put it on this figure but I can imagine finding a material that’s green with a purple shine is pretty difficult
Already got myself a "The foe" figure. Got it when I figured they would never make an official movie figure, same with The Ock. ... Still, plan to pick up the upgraded suit.
I can relate having two hot toys figures myself. I got the Returns Batman (single release), and the Netflix Daredevil. They’re such sick figures in my display with Batman being my favourite of the two I have considered getting my hands on more, especially Andrew Garfield Spider-Man and Wolverine, but Hot Toys take up a lot of room and are just their for show. I like to fiddle with most of my figures, even MAFEX and SHF. Hot toys aren’t like that at all, so I’ll stick with the two I have.

I can relate when you buy a new figure the emotion of having bro it's sooo soothing as a owner of 20 hot toys I can proudly say these things are my prized collection but this goblin hot toys got me acting up yooo😂

I'm team doc ock when it comes to villains in the raimi trilogy, doesnt mean I dont love Dafoe's Goblin (pause) I just love the realism of the mechanical tentacles, so naturally I got the NWH Doc Ock! Its essentially perfect. It's a high recommend from me criminal. But this video is amazing, I just watched the unboxing and it's made me feel like a child again seeing these movies for the first time. Just pls be financially responsible with hot toys haha.

Yes and no, but I get what you mean. I had the same feeling. After looking at them both, I think that ML overall *looks* more accurate, but the mouth is not as open as it should be. While the issue the Hot Toys helmet has is, in my opinion, that it should be a tiny bit wider
