BoomShakaLaka Yeah Hopsin wants everyone on the label including himself to blowup WITHOUT compromising how they operate as artists. Hopsin knows what it's like to be dooped by a major label, as evidenced by Ruthless. So he VOWED to never fall prey again to a major. These guys are independent to the bone.
+oblambo What Hopsin is the face of the label, and if people don't like Hopsin for whatever reasons they have, they're not going to check out the other rappers. That was my point. Technically they're not really independent since Hopsin had Warner Brothers distribute his newest album. All of Hopsin's flaws or faults discredit the other rappers' work, because of whatever Hopsin does or says. You can say all that if you or he wants to, but at the end of they day, Hopsin's style could defer basic/causal listeners from hearing the rest of the label.

M'ster Lewis I accept that reality, and understand the need for it. However, the content and delivery of Dizzy's bars, don't entertain me as much as Jarren's metaphors and delivery.
Killa Cali People don't get this lol. If you watch any Hopsin interview, he always talks about wanting to hype his crew up. What he did here was perfect for that. Gave Jarren and Dizzy the spotlight. Bet he coulda killed that if he wanted.

seems like hopsin might not be "the best" at freestyles but thats ok. His song are dope af. i dont download freestyles so i dont really care. Sometimes the best shit comes to you when you sit down and think about it.

Either Hopsin punked everyone to let Jarren and Dizzy get shine then came with a fire verse at the end, or he really just was fucking up. Regardless, this was dope. We're all human
manuthePROcrastinator real mc's make mistakes. He choked and then redeemed himself at the end. It's hard to pick a favorite in Funk Volume, and to me, that's a beauty. That's the beauty of the label.
yo dizzy went it in on this shit... and he's my least favorite on FV! and jarren was jus relaxin on his flow.. if that dude wanted too, he could've spazzed out and murdered everybody... and I was a lil disappointed in Marcus.. but understand everybody has there bad days... there not super human!
Although I'm sure these were off the top(I can tell by the cadence), freestyle means exactly what it says. It's free of style. No specific flow. It doesn't have to be off the top.
So Jarren's second freestyle was a song that was supposed to be on Slowmotion 2... I know this because he shared a part of Devil's Computer Chip on Instagram and it started exactly like it does on the verse.
