I think you are correct in that the Tyrell's are there for "selfish reasons", they want the best possible position for their family. But one reason you can appreciate them is that I think they also see how the wellbeing of the people is something that will benefit them as well.

The Tyrell's are really interesting. Margery, like Sansa has ambitions, but Sansa was naive and day dreaming. Margery knows what is going on. I think Margery IS kind, she just isn't blinded by it. Olenna is a good counter point to Tywin. They both do whatever it takes to keep their families in power and safe, but has genuine love for her family.

The Lannisters never owned a Valarian sword unlike what they consider lesser houses, even House Mormont on a little northern island had one, not to mention the Starks who had "Ice", the sword that was used to cut off Ned's head and then Tywin reforged that huge sword into two.

A cool detail is that Tywin always wanted a Valyrian sword (most great houses in Westeros have one, but the Lannister lost theirs in a disastrous expedition into Valyria) so I think that is the biggest reason he is forging it, not really to help Jamie out lol

One of my fav episodes for the fight at the inn. "Im gonna have to eat every chicken in this room" is the best! Arya getting Needle back was super satisfying. The Tyrells are not just there for selfish reasons. Lord Tyrell has ordered that she must marry Joffrey and they are doing what they can to navigate that order. Of course she wants to be queen so is is not wholly unwanted too. They know there are rumors he is awful, so they are making moves to learn what they can and strategies to control him for the best outcome for Margaery & their family. Btw You guys need to get your subtitles fixed for times when Dothraki or Valerian is spoken. Important dialogue will happen. The Book of Brothers only contains the great deeds that have been done when they become Kingsguard. In other words; Jamie did indeed have many impressive exploits during his youth. His impressive show of swordsmanship when he killed an infamous outlaw called "The Smiling Knight". After this he was knighted by Ser Arthur Dayne himself- considered by many to be the best swordsman in Westeros at his prime. ^^ just a bit of backstory from the books. I believe the battle is only briefly hinted at in some dialogue in season 3.

23:20 -Everyone for the most part plays the game for selfish reasons. What’s cool about the Tyrells is that, not only are they a Matriarchal Family in this world, but they play the game in a way that gains the common people’s respect. They have love for one another like the Starks but are still cunning like the Lannisters. This is extremely rare in GOT where most players could give 2shits about the kingdom’s people. Margery tamed Joffrey in a way no else has been able to so far. The Tyrells are great at playing the game if you pay attention.

The Red Viper of Dorne, Oberyn Martell, is one of George R.R. Martin's coolest and most interesting and intriguing characters. I really wish HBO would give us a mini series of his life story. It's very interesting. As for Meera and Jojen Reed, I can tell you that Howland Reed, Meera & Jojen's father, is such a loyal and devoted subject to House Stark that Howland is the only person alive who Ned trusted with the knowledge of who Jon's mother is. ( *The* grand mystery of the story.) That's how much House Reed is to House Stark. Take that for whatever you feel it is worth. Did Howland raise his kids to be as loyal and trustworthy as himself? I reckon we shall see.

Not liking Margery is totally fine of course. However, she is not cruel, not vicious, and very smart. She is a solid player of the game of thrones. We saw that at some point she was genuinely sympathetic to Sansa and wanted to comfort her. As far as people of Kings Landing go, she is alright. Also, soooo hyped for Oberyn to finally make an appearance. Pedro will be playing Joel in The Last Of Us adaptation, I.CAN'T.WAIT!! PS That was maester Aemon :)

You guys missed that the massive sword was Ned's & what they threw in the fire was either Rob's or Ned's coat. "Raccoon Fur," hilarious.

Jaime has done far more than killing the mad king. He defeated the Smiling Knight while just a squire. Prior to his maiming, he was broadly considered to be one of the three best living swordsman alive at the time, hence why losing his swordhand was such a big deal.

I can see maybe not liking Margarey but Olenna is badass! One of the best characters in the series.

The song at the end is actually the Stark theme mixed with the Game of thrones theme. The stark theme along with the targaryen themes are probably the best compositions composed for this show. They perfectly reflect the stories of each family, as they are both come back stories in a way.

The first Dario Naharis dude had a scheduling conflict w another project he was already working on when filming for this season started, unfortunately. Respectable, but yeah he definitely lost out.

Maester Aegon is the blind man at the wall. Ed Skrein was replaced by Michiel Huisman as Daario Naharis supposedly because he had a role in the film The Transporter Refueled. However he disputes that. Most suspect he was replaced for some on-set personal issues which apparently was not his decision.

Tywin wasn't being sympathetic and loving toward Jaime. He was manipulating him, as he has always done with his children and everyone and always will continue to do. And this is just the beginning of this particular manipulation to get Jaime to leave the King's Guard and become Lord of Casterly Rock. EVERYTHING Tywin does is for Tywin and his legacy.

Margaery and Lady Olenna and Danerys want the exact same thing; to rule the 7 kingdoms. Why do you sneer at one and root for the other? And I know the incest thing grosses you out, but you should keep in mind that Danerys is the daughter of a brother and sister. And they were children of incest too. If you keep all the layers in mind, you really start to wonder why you root for the characters you do, and the length a character would have to go for you to stop. Jaqen H'ghar is a great example of that. He would have killed ANYONE Arya named, no matter right or wrong, but I still (personally) love him. I am not criticizing you guys, I've binged all your episodes and am subbed, it's just that this show (and the books) made me think in ways a TV show never made me think before, and I think you might appreciate having your minds twisted around even more. Daenerys has three giant lizards that aren’t even that giant yet. I just think that’s funny/insane. Also, I am one of the only people that likes new Daario more. If you look like Dansby Swanson then you’re a 10/10 eye candy in my opinion. The way Sansa describes what happened to her family in such horrid detail, makes me think Joffrey was the one to tell her. You know he would’ve gotten off on that shit. Cersei complaining about Margaery and Loras always makes me giggle. The Tyrells get under her skin so much. Listen, I WILL defend Margaery and the Tyrells to the end. Yes, they are ambitious and can be manipulative/deceitful if they need to be, but what I love about them, specifically Margaery, is that they have more than one feeling/emotion towards things. Maybe it’s just me, but I really think that Margaery is a good person. I think her relationship towards Sansa shows a lot: she uses her for political gain, but even when Sansa can’t be a pawn to the Tyrells anymore, Margaery still seeks her out to comfort her. Just because she uses the small folk, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have genuine emotion towards them (especially the children). Two things can be true at once. That makes her SO complex and that’s why I love her character. And then you look at Cersei and the other Lannisters who don’t even attempt to help the common folk. And just like every other house in Westeros, the Tyrells are looking out for their own. Just as Tyrion didn’t fight against Robb Stark dying because it’s what was best for his family, Margaery becoming THE Queen is what’s best for hers. And she’s been doing a damn good job for the shitty deck she’s been given. (If nothing else, we can agree she’s hot!) The Hound + chickens = true love

They weren’t supposed to be on that long a journey but they saw the popularity of The Hound and Arya road-trip and actually wrote more scenes for them in Season 4
