For me its not even the dying part that's anxiety inducing, the music just sounds like the most intense shit ever and Its super scary even today sometimes to me lol
You know it's a real Sega game from the 90s when you cant hear what the characters are talking about cuz the music is just blaring over the amazing dialogue.
It's always fun to find stock techno samples that got used in multiple games in the late 90s/early 2000s. Like the sample starting at 0:16 that you can also hear in 'Ice Brain' from Mega Man Zero 2.

i used to do the same and kicked ass even some people gathered to watch me blasting zombies in akimbo but when i was fighting a boss the music pace was a amazing chance to do some trick shots for the audience
This builds hype when fighting a Giant Armored Headless Zombie and tiny Imp, A Fish Man, a Hydra of Snake heads and A muscular Chainsaw wielding Zombie. Then fighting a revived created being and then a God-like creation gets more serious!
I really like this music start with something like flatline noise, making the bosses look more intimidating when got introduced after silencing the past soundtrack with the long beep
Very old reply but this game is on the Nintendo Wii, you can probs get the console and game cheap online cuz they're old. It's called House of the Dead the return and you get House of the dead 2 and 3 on the same disk, very fun games.

My boss is Type 28 "The Strengh" . And, Why in this game the bosses' names are first "Type"? "Type" means the "Number of Experiment", so "Experiment N°28"
Rafael Ignacio Probably G's way of enemy classification in his notes. There are minor enemies like those zombies, leeches, frogs....and you got the bosses who are named after the Tarot Major Arcanas.
Bloody hell I was scared of the bosses in these games. This music is just chaos - just a mangle of guitar distortion and electronic scratching and blips. It's great music for fear and adrenaline. Tower scared the heck out of me.
For a game based around a zombie apocalypse, House of the Dead is not scary at all. In fact, the zombies are quite funny sometimes. Also, I like how this songs essentially tells the player “Go! Blast that monster to pieces!”
4 years late but im pretty it is intentional, instead of making you feel fear, its supposed to give you adrenaline as you mow down zombie with guns, its very fun after all

I mean The House of the Dead series is not like Resident Evil, where also zombie apocalypse, but it is taken very seriously, since in RE you can feel the loss of hope, the true nightmares and wish that you never experience this in real life. So yeah. The House of the Dead inspired the zombie apocalypse, which based on killing more zombies (like Left 4 Dead 2), while Resident Evil-the zombie apocalypse, which based on horror and lose of hope (like Left 4 Dead 1). Also funny thing is that both HotD and RE returned zombies their popularity again after their (zombies) popularity began to drown.
I swear THoTD and DMC felt like the same game, cheesy voice acting, horror atmosphere, with GODDAMN BANGING TECHNO TUNES aaaaand hard gameplay as well.

@@DJPurpleOne17 3 is also pretty solid. No where near as good as 2. But still worth playing. No idea about 4. Because pretty much the only way to play that is literally an arcade machine. Overkill was uh...lets forget about that one.
i was playing this one day at the arcade and people gathered to see me doing speed shooting,just the music was enough to get me on fire my favorite boss battle was the hyerophant because looked liked it was dancing at the epic as hell music
I remember playing House of the Dead 2 at the arcade when I was a kid, the first time I saw Judgement I froze but once the music started fear turned into determination to survive and win.
