I've never really thought about it until after seeing this, but everything they showed in this version of this game seemed to make SO much sense. The reasons why non of those people (we had to save) didn't even try to run from the zombies was, other than they were all scared, was because they were all either old, had medical conditions or were trapped in some areas.
I like how the very first scientist had his throat torn and he's writhing around till you kill the first creature, instead of just being slapped to the floor like a weakling, the animations of the human characters are pretty impressive considering everything else
I originally had thought he was missing, but it turns out you can see him at 12:47 on the steps going up to the door. He's closer to the bottom of the screen.
It's how he was in the original. He was just an insert character for player 2 with no real personality, hence his name being just a letter. It wasn't until HotD2 that he got his own character depth.
@@caliggyjack7480 Exactly. G wasn't really a character in the first game, so much as he was simply an avatar for the second player. Like you said, it wasn't until HotD2 that he started to become a full-fledged character with depth.
The gameplay was good but the BGM needs to redo it again... And the 'Magican' speed needs faster instead even high resilient as the original was pro on speed and resilient... *You need to get higher points and good performance (include rescue all researchers) at those previous 3 chapters and boss rush (Chapter 4) to unlock the armory (For access more powerful weapons against hordes and bosses)
There likely will be better options in the future. www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/04/the-house-of-the-dead-remake-spotted-for-ps4 Hard to say for sure if it will come to PC too, but if it did, that would open up the possibility of using a mouse to aim, or the Sinden Lightgun.
Feel strange. When magician throws a bunch of fire balls to the sky and two players are busy with clearing those balls, why doesn't magician attack Rogan and G then? Not so smart
@@maximillianmarcosebastian880 Idk y all these remakes they try to Nerf enemies, either way I am gona use a mod that could make it like the original play style or I will make one for myself
@@arronmunroe because there are not many underwater themed games on the map and I think sega should try making a reboot for an upscured game they made.
@@henriquedearruda8902 Sorry, I misunderstood your comment. I see now you meant Sega should remake the game. I had previously seen comments similar to yours that were actually directed at me in reference to if I would play a specific game. I would agree that an Ocean Hunter remake would be cool.
yes and in the remake they should have more clear dialogue make the Monster defeats more satisfying I know the defeats of the old version in that arcade game where satisfying enough all the monsters dropped dead and go down but I bet the remake the monsters can talk and there defeats can be more satisfying than ever pulse the story will include a brother for Rahab he must had a brother that was positive and protected the ocean and stayed on humans side and told them to take care of the ocean and Rahab disargreed with his brother and they had a battle that caused tsunamis then his brother defeated him and ended the destruction there battle was causing and then he sealed Rahab and made him go into a deep slumber like Rahab said in his story in the original game then after seeing mankind’s mistreatment of the ocean Rahab reawoke overthrew his brother and created 5 Monsters to rule the ocean sink ships and attack divers Toral and Chris will be given personality’s and they can talk and we will see more about them and the divers they rescue will also have personality’s I mean if you remember they where not the bravest of explorers I mean they just try to swim away in fear and ask others to save them they where pretty much cowards and they should exclude Midgarsorm that 6th monster because there is absolutely no point in including a 6th monster when there are already 6 ruling the ocean and there will be more enemies like pike and tiger fish that would be pretty awsome.
Currently, jconfig doesn't work for 2p, and TeknoParrot is Patreon only. At the moment, I am just waiting for TeknoParrot to remove Patreon for that game. It will still likely be sometime later this year when I can play it.
@@arronmunroe i'm try the 2 players on house of the dead scarlet dawn jconfig so i can do that first set the 2 mouse on pc second check the Mouse Active RawInput set the 1p, 2p on mouse code and last one is set the PlayerGunDevice=0 on game.ini
I actually had tried the DOS version a while ago, but hadn't been able to make it to the end. The final stage has no power ups, unlike the arcade version, making it even more difficult to fight all of the Trogs. Currently, I don't have a good way to get past that, but the same time, I don't really want to use cheats to finish the game.
Even though i wanted to love the game i just can't, everything seems so half baked. And the final battle with The Magician? where is HIS THEME? you can't put a fight with the magician without putting HIS THEME man.
I think it’s partially due to the fact that keeping scientists alive grants more lives at the end of the level and also certain branches are determined by their survival. Fun fact: House of the Dead 2 has a route where letting a specific civilian die branches to a path that leads to more rescues than if they lived.
@Tyler Gamer Phung yeah the unfortunately couldn't obtain the rights to the original soundtrack I know not everyone likes this remake but I enjoy it for what it is at least we have a house of the dead game for modern systems and this is probably as close as well get to a re release of the original game. In my opinion some people had their expectations maybe a little to high for a remake of an arcade based game.
This isn't a literal arcade game lol. Arcade machines were designed to take people's money. The games were purposefully made difficult/cheap so you'd put more money in to continue playing after you "died". That's why Magician was insanely hard to beat. There was no need to do that for the remake since it was a console game. Although, if you bump up the difficulty, he moves faster and is closer to how he was in the original arcade game.
I watched all your gameplay by House of Dead ..and I'm happy that you save the Civilians.. sometimes you messed up..but you're really good 💯💯💯...not the other gameplay that they let zombie or shoot kill the innocent civilians At the same time... you're gameplay is Marvelous... keep up your Channel
I can excuse the awful fan-made quality animations and the even worse voice acting, but the OST is by far the worst, I still prefer by far the '96 original
25:00😂 getting asked if anyone actually reads the loading screen suggestions, so true because most of the suggestions are like “shot the enemy to stay alive” no s*** it’s a survival game and you have a gun, use it.
They are going to make it. A remake of the second game was confirmed along with the remake of the first game. When is it going to come out, and why haven't we gotten it already? I don't know.
Seems to be a newer thing. The original Daytona allows it, but not the more recent Daytona Championship USA. I still used "FAT" in my video of the newer game, though, because I found a way to get around it.
I snagged this on PC for 1 reason. It ain't because it's a new game. It ain't because it's House of The Dead (for the most part). It's purely because it's the 2nd legitimate on-rail shooter on Steam (the 1st being Blue Estate). Heavy Fire and Reload don't count.
Well house of the dead overkill is on steam too. It’s called typing of the dead but when you’re on the main menu you can switch it to house of the dead mode
@arronmunroe Well despite the fact that I don’t own a Nintendo Switch and actually own a PS4 {got mines late in 2017} and will later own a PS5 System when the time comes only, I like how the remake version has better graphics that’s way better than The Original Version from back in 1996 (though came out in 1997) and it’s Second One from 1998 as well before that all changed for The Next Ones from back in 2002, 2006 and 2018 also! Good Gameplay you did despite The Mediocre Reviews it got, but I don’t care about that.
What is happening when you try to start it? I have only tried on Switch, but I did find it a little annoying how it seems to force single player controls for the menu and then makes me set the controllers when I try going into multiplayer.
Music is trash. Why couldn't they just pay the Asian man his money and get the original music. Would it have seriously cost that much more. It nit having the original soundtrack was a huge deal breaker for me. You can't make a nostalgic remake then strip away the music and full it with generic half asked remixes. Imagine if they remade mario 64 but none of the music was the same. It would RUIN the game.
I'm not sure what to say about that, exactly. I don't think there is anything else to it aside from how it's selected at 00:28 in this video. Of course, this is using the joycons, but I don't believe it's too different if you are using a standard controller.
@@dbmikeyg255 So you are referring to when you attempt to start multiplayer? This game does treat 2 joycons as one controller in the main menu up until you try to choose multiplayer. For example, at 00:20, I have to set it as 1 controller.
I think this is a pretty well made remake, but it would be very rare for me to actually say I like a remake more than the original. Even the original being the first way I played it could make it seem better, although that has little to do with the quality of the game itself. I am looking forward to the remake of the second game.
@@arronmunroe fair answer. I have to agree, this isn’t too bad, nor do I think any more planned remakes will be either, but none of them can come close to pulling off the campy charm and (probably) unintentional hilarity of the originals. I also find the actual canon order of the games interesting, especially if you count Overkill among them (which I absolutely do).
Which version are you playing? I just needed 2 joycons to play here on Switch. On PC, it might be more trouble to play 2 player, because I think you might need to use a gamepad for a second controller if you don't have real lightguns.
@@chunjet1004 You didn't say which version you're playing. If it's Switch, 2 joycons or 2 regular gamepads work. If it's PC, one mouse and one gamepad would work, or 2 gamepads.
@@waiteinlai4233 All I can really suggest is trying it the way it is done in this video. The game acts a little weird forcing it into single player mode when you're in the regular menus, but it should go to 2p when you select the co-op mode.
The new music is indeed weird, but is Maximilian Dood is to be believed, it's almost certainly some kind of rights issue. Let's hope the planned HOTD2 remake doesn't have the same problem...
While Sega developed the original, MegaPixel Studio got the license to develop the remake. This isn't too uncommon. For example, the Ninja Turtles in Time remake was developed by Ubisoft, while the original was by Konami.
