In ancient times the Mongols were the most feared army the world had ever seen. The HU are the modern day equivalent, but they are not conquering the world with violence, but rather with the universal language: Music.
@@sajuente8235 they were nothing like terrorist... yes the slaughtered the armys of the people they conquered but once conquered all they wanted was tribute and let them mostly be autonomous.... except for china which they controlled directly. they were feared due like any other conquering army of the time. Alexander the great was feared by the world of his time same as the mongols were of their time.
The mongolians were part of the Huns way back when sort of same culture and if you know history the people who conquered lands slaughtered the vikings the romans MONGOLS. and so on
I’ve been lucky enough to see these guys play live and they’re amazing. They finish with this song and the whole.... tribal thing works really well with an audience of metalheads. It was pretty awesome being in a crowd all joining in with the Hu Hu Hu Hu Hu chant that goes through this song. There’s something about this kind of music that transcends borders and cultures. It’s primal. I love it.
Like someone else commented on the video of Yuve Yuve Yu: "When Mongolian language has 4million speakers but your videos get 30million views that's when you know you're doing something right" ~ Nena Vaskina
Lol. My husband has a particular disposition to dislike Taylor Swift songs. He loaths them and hates that some hooks still filter through to get stuck in his head and torture him. Guess how I get my own back when he has annoyed me?
You know what's hilarious? I think my two favorite modern artists are Taylor Swift and the Hu. I have eclectic tastes. I love what Swift does lyrically and what the Hu is doing vocally.
@@sistermadrigalmorning233 There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Taylor's music is not my cup of coffee, but I'll never knock anybody for liking what they like. That is pretty funny both of these artists are your wheelhouse though. I can dig it.
These guys are really cool...even my wife likes them. The whole album is good actually. I copied & pasted this next part from a comment I made on another reaction video to this song: Regarding the instruments played by The Hu, I lifted this info from Wikpedia (therefore it is possible that it's not 100% accurate): The morin khuur (also known as the horsehead fiddle) is a traditional Mongolian bowed stringed instrument. The topshur is a two or three-stringed lute an the tsuur is an end-blown flute of varying lengths. Cheers!
The Hu sound is all about traditional Mongolian instruments and their unique sounds. We use Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), Tovshuur (three-stringed lute), Tsuur (Mongolian flute) and Tumur Khuur (Jew's harp). The Hu is traditional meets modern and past meets present
Wow, your reaction was PRICELESS! They have a full length album that came out about a month ago that's really fun if you're into folk music from around the world. Meanwhile, they have a few other videos on youtube you could check out and react to. All great.
I love the Hu Band!♥️ If you haven't, look up the translation of their lyrics. These are the descendants of Genghis Khan. (That's why they're following behind the warrior on the horse. He symbolizes their ancestor.) Notice when they punch the sky, they're saying "Hu!"😊
I love The Hu, Mongolian Warriors🥰 first time i saw them was at smoelenboek (fb) one of my friends was sharring this with me on my page.. i fell inlove right there❤
Yep. That was pretty much my reaction when I first heard The Hu. Few weeks later they released their first album, The Gereg. I ordered on the spot. P.S. I appreciate you didn't pause the music to comment (like MANY other channels do) and instead simply enjoyed it.
I got to see them in concert. Awesome is the only word for it! You should do a reaction video to their song Yuve Yuve Yu. Also turn on the subtitles for the official videos if you want to know what they are saying.
@@ollytherock7324 I never thought of them to show you. I ave heard a few of their songs but I never followed them. Anyway I am to busy with this band called Nightwish. Have you ever heard of them? Lol :-)
Hey look man im a black dude from the south who loves REAL music no matter where. The blending of metal and traditional throat singing and the meaning of the bikers and the bikes is just awesome. Im getting the urge to conquer some shit!
Wow - Awesome band!!! I love just about anything that has a 'tribal' feel to it. Some of what the leader singer does with his voice reminds me of the sounds from a didgeridoo. So cool.
I just listened to them all day today on a big sound system and I cranked it up my neighbor complained about me rattling their windows oopsy but yeah I had pretty much the same reaction when I first saw it I've always been interested in the Mongolian people because I love horses this just makes it all that much better I'm a fan of The HU now it all got to be worth listening to music was getting kind of boring because it was the same thing played with the same instruments and same basic story line I ran across this and it was just so totally different that I found to be quite refreshing also you will love their other songs I have a whole album and many songs that I recorded to play on my crazy audio machine here that is a traditional Mongolian instrument the horse head reflects their culture it is a Morin khuur is the name of the instrument they have also done music for the game of Star Wars and they been touring the United States and other foreign countries as well all I can say is damned amazing see if you can find the rest of their music there some mellow stuff to that sounds really good
1st to say that traditional Mongolian instruments & throat singing make quite unique folk metal. The HU is awesome. P.S. Are you already familiar with the German band "Blind Guardian"?
Respect for bands using their national elements, instruments and their own language. Have you heard os this ? Another Finnish band with a REAL national twist and their native language: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-co0A3vT-6-k.html

This is close, but no cigar. How about some Maori's from New Zealand playing heavy metal? Alien Weaponry. On Napalm Records, so you've been warned. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5kwIkF6LFDc.html
@Yorgos Yannopoulos Your comment sounds quite offensive. Mongolian music has been developing for centuries. The musicians in Mongolia usually are professionals just like the members of the Hu band.
For those that don't know, the creature in their band symbol is _not_ a dragon, but a snow leopard. In trying to decide on a symbol that represents ancient Mongolia and the Hunnu (Xiongnu), they did some research. A friend of theirs informed them that a royal burial site had been discovered in 2011 that indicated that the snow leopard might have been sacred to the Hunnu. The sinuous nature of the symbol is to show the way the snow leopard moves on the mountains. There's a short video about it on their channel.
You must listen to Tengri singing Heaven. From The Singer 2017. He is amazing. Hard to believe that i also really enjoy Yuve yuve by the HU....big difference from our Dimash!
so i discovered the HU (wich is mogolian an basically mean The People) via a friend 6(?) Months ago The Vilolin thingy is actually a mongolian Horse Head Fiddle, and the Cool Guitar is called a Balalaika beeing the people of Ghenghis Khan the mongolians are very proud people, but they hot put under the boot of the chinese and the russians, so the Hu has many uplifting an somewhat uproraing texts and some what partiotic ther Music is called Hunnu Rock by the band
There's a correction here, this is NOT a balalaika, which is a Russian instrument. The two-string upright instruments are morin khuur, as you said, the horse-head fiddles. The guitar-appearing instrument in this video is a tovshuur. Both originate from Mongolia, as do other instruments they play that aren't seen in this video (flutes, etc). You can also hear "standard" guitars, bass, and drums in the track, and they're all present when they play live, but the primary instruments are the 2 morin khuur and the tovshuur.
My husband has discovered them and they are appealing in a gutteral instinctive way to us. We have barely a clue as to the subject matter, just that vibrating chest sound.
Hu...as in human. This is a Mongolian war chant. I hope you called up the subtitles for your edification. Millions of people could tell you, if you hear this, make peace with your God and loved ones. A very bad storm is coming and there's a good chance of no one coming out of it alive.
Really like your reaction..I subscribed....You should react to their "The Great Chinggis Khaan" it is their best video by far..your jaw will literally drop...and their "Yuve Yuve Yu" is really good too
