Description: This book on the human brain is packed with facts and explanations. Let's see if we can make some connections with neuro-anatomy, psychology and ASMR's.
I'm convinced there's an intimate correlation with our social nature and it's effects like grooming, hugging, and other forms of close communication. Thanks for watching.

I always had a hypothesis that asmr is about the thing in our brain that needs social bonding. The asmr I first liked was always stuff like having someone brush or braid my hair, things like that. And you know so many other social animals like monkeys and cats are known to groom each other as a way to cement social bonds. I feel like asmr exists because it triggers the part of the brain that says youre in a safe calm space with your fellows and you are strengthening bonds, you are being taken care of.

I agree totally with OP. To me it often reminds me of early memories of being with a care taker. What i think is most interesting is binaural ASMR. It makes me wonder if it has to do with some kind of regulation of the auditory equilibrium in the brain.

His voice whispering to me at night is creepy, but for some reason, my brain is loving it. I'm feeling the tingles on top of my scalp and I haven't felt those tingles in a long time. So, thank you for this video!

I'm a Dr of Psychology & I believe that ASMR has enormous untapped potential but the healthcare community have pretty much ignored it. So I am doing some research to try & turn things around. Will you help me by participating? The more people who do the harder it will be for healthcare professionals to continue to ignore ASMR as a viable compliment to existing treatments.

So, I finally realized something that should have been obvious to me. The reason you have so many more views than likes is because you’re too good at what you do. If most people are like me, they listen to/watch a video multiple times, but we can only Like it once. 😆
