@@earlianabailey9727 It will help them remember things better? It's not a training thing that helps people kill each other. There are training stations for survival skills too.
Zeltrix - Designz Im not a punk and also I think it's racist because they are both black and I thought that's why the person said thresh is like rue' s big brother
it was her job to tell them. the capitol would not tolerate a hunger game where after some days the surviving tributes just sit in different corners of the arena, munching apples and sipping water thus holding out forever in theory.
@@bernard6998 problem is you cannot unleash something totally devastating, you need a survivor in presentable condition. also to keep in mind: it was always a concern that the last 2 tributes may inflict major injuries upon each other, so they both die in short succession. :( it was a wonder the first hunger games had any survivor: it was a coliseum without exits or hiding spots but lot of weapons; the carnage was over in less than an hour afaik. in the books everybody followed the rules set by capitol nicely until they were broken in 75th hunger games.
Rue is so sweet and adorable, but she is a lot smarter than we give her credit for. She took Cato's knife, letting him believe that another tribute - one that, if I am not mistaken, Cato kills later on - took his knife instead. So in a way, she was deliberately giving Cato a reason to dislike some of the other tributes, creating grudges that she hoped Cato would follow through with in the arena, making them more likely to be hunted than her. As well as it being a funny prank..... damn, that girl is cunning.
“My advice is don’t ignore the survival skills” *literally shows a montage of everyone grabbing a weapon and training but ONE person, who makes a fire.*
Electric Starfire no she did it herself because she knew she was one of the last people in the game and knew eventually that either catniss or Peeda was going to kill her so she acually knew those berries kill so she ate them for quick death
Nope. She trusted Peeta's capacity of identifying what was poisonous, and ate it because of that. It's clear, in the books, that Foxface is really trying to win, and she was way too close to just give up.
To those saying that nobody died from natural causes, you need to understand the instructor said that because the arenas are always completely different and might be very tough to stay in. In the book Haymitch talks about an arena that was a desert, and the game ended in a few days because almost everyone died of deshydratation. They got a “normal” arena (a forest) but it could’ve been ice, sand, or a jungle like in the second movie.
@@MadaeNoirthat was for the second quarter Quell, the one Haymitch won. Everything in the arena except for food and water supplied from the cornucopia was poisonous
Maybe they switch it up every year or two. Being a televised event, the Capitol's viewers would soon get bored if it was the same thing every year and viewership would drop.
@@pillsnpotions260 actually, she was one of the last people in the game, and since she couldve been killed by either katniss's bow or cato's sword, she chose to die more peacefully and commit suicide
I love the way Thresh looks at Rue that's so cute ❤that smirk is a mix of humour, pride and confidence u can just see their relationship. Almost like siblings
An underrated moment is that even the staff - who are desensitized and uncaring to the Tributes' plight - look amused at Rue taking Cato's knife. It's a nice bit of levity to an otherwise morbid scene.
Some districts train for the Hunger Games from 12-18, as the Capitol select people that age to join the Games. It stops when they're 18 because that is the final age they are selected for.
She’s not, it’s a matching game about reflexes. That exercise has nothing to do with edible plants. She’s called foxface because she’s sneaky and survives through stealing without people noticing, she doesn’t know how to get food on her own
Foxface was the most clever and ethical out of them. She did everything to purely survive without Killing anyone and when she understood there was no future she took her life.
I mean yeah, he probably would of survived longer if he didn’t try to go to the cornucopia with a broken leg, as you can see him falling and grunting from the snap of his leg in the training. He was crippled and he couldn’t outpace Marvel, therefore pinned to the ground helpless. He needed supplies early on because he can’t do much otherwise…high risk low reward. Don’t make fun of him like that if you don’t understand the circumstance he was in! 😤 EDIT: you can actually see his knee brace while he ducked from Marvel’s knife swing, that would definitely slow him down, I feel bad for him…
1:30 You know that when Cato said: You're the first to die! To Jason.. Cuz he 'stole his knife' but guess what Jason was actually the first to be killed by Cato... Anyway I think that was really intersting
U may have not even noticed but what if catos knife was cloves knife that she gave to him. Cause clove smirked and smiled cause she knew he would get it back Just a theory
its kinda obvious finch (foxface) killed herself. i could be wrong, but considering the fact she was considered the smartest tribute in the 74th, she would of known the berries were poison. i think she took the chance to die fast instead of a long, brutal death from cato.
Yes, it's one of the two theories about her death. The other is she tought the berries were good because in the book, Peeta was searching for berries similar to these ones
That theory only works for the movies, in the book it’s very much an accident that she died. She’s not a plant expert, she’s smart because she’s sneaky which is why ‘foxface’ works for her. She survives by following close to people and stealing their food and supplies without being noticed and in a way that’s not obvious. Because Peeta was collecting the berries she assumed it was fine to eat, that was her downfall. Overestimating her opponents. She doesn’t know these berries, they are exclusive to district 12
So like, the kid who fell off the equipment and seemed to hurt his knee, could he actually be like, "Sorry guys, I pulled a muscle during the training section. Guess that means I'm sitting out for the Games this year, eh?" That would be an insane loophole.
Y'all making comments abt foxface but she was actually the smartest of them all.. especially in the books.. she was 4th, and I think she knew damn well those berries were poison, but she just took matter in her own hands because she knew she could not win from Catniss or Cato..
the most strange from this film is why the heck they happy to teaming (the bad guys) knowing only 1 of them will live , or if their team win they all can live ?
Was there literally no other way that the director/screenwriter could have chosen to communicate to the audience that Foxface=highly intelligent? If that demonstrates genius, I could rock up and be on her level just by filling out the sudoko in my neighbourhood newspaper. Director could have easily utilised Chekhov's gun with the berries at any point during this training sequence.
Leila Da cat so she's can eat and not die. It's figuring out what is poisonous and what's edible. Kinda ironic, because she does from eating a poisonous berry.
Kelli Green She tried to commit suicide not a mistake...it only makes sense looking she knows everything..she could of won with her stealth and abilities.
Foxface is looking at different plants. I always had a theory that she knew the barries were poison. It was between Katniss's bow or Cato's brutality. She decided to take matters into her own hand.
When you've been randomly selected to participate in a fight to the death with over twenty fellow teenagers (all because your ancestors tried- and utterly failed- at revolution), you start to look for a way out. Any and every option is on the table in a situation like that- including suicide. (SPOILER ALERT) But even then, you're kinda screwed. In the books, the dogs that chase Katniss and Peeta at the end were the reanimated (and repurposed) corpses of the OTHER DEAD TRIBUTES. That's the ultimate sacrilege, right there- you die in the Hunger Games, and your body becomes just another tool of amusement for a city full of psychopaths.
To be honest I always took it as calculated risk. Her options. 1) Go fight and kill Cato, Katniss and Peeta. (Death is brutal way) 2) Hide and starve to death. (Painful and very slow death.) 3) Eat those berries, they are poisonous and die. (Fast death) 4) Eat those berries and they are edible and live. (No death and its delayed for some time.) As you can see she made a good call. Just .... you know how it ended.
so she was risking her life by stealing cheese and STEAL BARRIERS..if she knew that berriers are death(and wanted to die) why dont just take it herself..have no sense..I dont buy it at all..if she wantet to die and "help"pita and katnis(but why to help katnis at all..katnis dont own anythink to foxface)she could just steal berriers..but why then take cheese... and they never said she was good witch plants..they only show that she was good at stealing ..and pita would eat those..so she was thinking "if he want to eat then it is good to eat so I can steal it"... simple foxface didnt sucide herself..pita not on purpose autsmarted her
Well in the book Foxface was hunting them down and she saw food on the sheet of plastic that Katniss had acquired at the Cornucopia. She thought that since Peeta and Katniss had them, that they were edible. In the movie, Foxface's death was seen as a suicide, because she was seen at the edible plants station and she had known what nightlock were.
If you want your contestants to be in their best shape for fighting might as well put a thicker and softer mat so they don’t break their legs when they fall
Broken cow I do not think they want everyone to have the same no mods 1 district 1,2 get to to train form in early age other Districts don't so they get less training then district 1 and 2
@@tinyrick5977 They put up a forcefield and have Peacekeepers to keep tributes from running or commiting suicide, they advertise 24 tributes so they need to have 24 (except in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, there they don't care if some tributes starve before the games)
