The most ambitious crossover yet would be that all the Rebel Wilson movies are happening in the same universe and it turns out she is the same character all the way back to that musical she was in.

I like Anne Hathaway but she's always playing the same airheaded chick role. The only films i watched where she's not that kind of character is Rio and Interstellar. Though in interstellar she's on camera whereas in Rio she's only a voice. But even then, the character of Jewel is more headstrong and free spirited.

This is advertised as a remake of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" (1988) with Michael Caine, Steve Martin and Glenne Headly. "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is actually a remake of "Bedtime Story" (1964) with David Niven, Marlon Brando and Shirley Jones. They’ve been out of ideas for a long time.

I think it's a smart move to rename this and not call it Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Because most of the hate recently for Ghostbusters and Ocean's 8 is that they are just riding the coattails of a classic or successful franchise. You can't please everyone though as well all know.

@@sterlingsherman Yeah I agree, but I think that's the point man. They definitely can if we're just talking about comedic female-lead buddy films like Bridesmaids. but if the plot/story is anywhere near or similar to a male lead classic, and the fandom recognizes it, then everyone sort of jumps on it and criticizes that point. And I do think it's a valid point when you directly take the name of the classic franchise and slap it on your movie in order to have a pre-installed base of viewers/fans. I think it's funnier *because* of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (a movie I love). I'm 33, so I guess I'm allowed to enjoy it if it actually turns out good, but nothing will ever replace the original.

@@damiensamuel89 But the whole point of DRS is that the mark turns out to be the greatest con artist in the world, and she played on their preconceived notions of women. That's what took them down. What's the big reveal now? It didn't need a gender flip as DRS already did it, just smarter.
