The Huts (1985, documentary) - Wester Hailes (Edinburgh) - Part 2/4 

As a secondary school pupil I actually wrote a couple of articles for the sentinel both based on football, one was as a result of a punishment exercise given from a teacher which they thought was so good that they contacted the paper who published my football based story and the next was a report on my football team's (Clovie CC) end of the year awards ceremony. Amazing what memories stumbling across these videos bring back!

Born 1981 72/45 Wester Hailes Drive. I was just a young person and I remember it as a vibrant place where there was an energy to do better. But it was a dark place too and only later did I realise the deprivation we had to endure. The people were amazing though and my memories of the concrete jungle are strong but contrast with growing up in a caring community.
