I think they should have chosen a better roster all together. Look at the Feever players now they are killing it! But that is the hindsight perspective. Forsight. I think they should still have a better roster than they had. Diana Taurasi is frankly to old... she is 41-42years of age? Caitlin Clark is good but I really do not know if that is the best. But she had an audience it is stupid not to take advantage of it! that is the mind boggling part. So if they USA team lost at OL hell would be loose. I think to answer your question they messed up big time.
an another point i have to make is this. By not taking clark and ditch atleast a few others and take some good players. Than they could do both. Win gold and get more money! in one fell swoop. But I do not think it is pride or jealous. I think this is just politicks at its very finest. If i take you and we do this and that and whatever. We get more of other stuff. So my question is how much was the prize money? Because that is what no one talks about. So the USA team won gold. Good for them. But how much did they get paied each for doing so? Now the raitings remark makes alot of sense if they got paied big.
OF COARSE! Don't pretend that these Black ladies aren't jealous, resentment, rascist etc.. it makes the people saying that that is not true should be banned!
Women hate strong women, it's sad really, and they would rather knock a star down instead of lifting them up and this is the result. The interest at the Olympics was 100% expected.
What I want is for the NBA to say, "You have this popular phenom now. Ride the wave and stand on your own. We're not gonna subsidise your league anymore after 30 years of losses. Good luck!" Their business acumen will skyrocket real quick.
@@Skummeh2 Women always want MEN to take care of them. Men fight, men build, men PAY for everything. Just look around. Then when they get a chance to stand on their own, they just can't be bothered.
Britney Griner didn't 'have' to supplement her income by playing in Russia, she still earned more money than most Americans but wanted more and took a known banned substance into another country, she should still be over there and the more legitimate and honourable political prisoners should be free
We're talking about an extraordinarily competitive job with irregular hours and lots of travel, that pays nothing till 22, lasts for maximum 15 years (if you're incredibly lucky), and takes a massive physical toll. I don't think it's unreasonable or greedy for one of the profession's top 1% to want to earn more than a mediocre lawyer.
"she should still be over there and the more legitimate and honourable political prisoners should be free" The problem with this statement is there are no legit, honorable, political prisoners in Russia that should be set free and I am assuming you mean Americans. The Marine and Wall Street Journal reporter who were set free much later that Griner were guilty of spying that is why the CIA was involved in the traded prisoners. Also, Russia released surveillance video of both men caught red-handed receiving classified Russian information. Americans are not saints. Both countries spy on each other and when Americans get caught doing it they shouldn't whine and cry about it, because they knew the risks of being a spy.
@@westasleep Ronda Rousey said it well "How much you earn should reflect how much you bring in" Imagine working in company which is loosing money more than quater of a century and demand more money...
Grainer was and is greedy. He never should have been allowed to play on the woman’s team. He is arrogant and thought he could snub his nose at the law. He should still be in prison.
That’s just misogynist, and imma be real with you, you’re a hater, and I doubt anyone hates women as much as you do, when they don’t behave the way you want.
It starts in grade school. They are horrible bullies engaging in reputation destruction innuendo and gossip. Being highly socialized they can turn many against one another.
theres a few more reasons like she isn't a black lesbian activist. makes more sense when you know who controls almost all of the mainstream media outlets in the US.

Simply put, Caitlin Clark puts butts in the audience seats. When has the WNBA needed to change an arena because of one player? Never until Caitlin Clark arrived in the WNBA.
@@dantesos7564 2024 USA Paris Olympics women's basketball games were poor attendance as well. Dinosaur Taurasi and TS Griner were benched during the final game as well.
I am a random Canadian who not only had no interest in the WNBA, but who would rather watch lawn bowling. Until, CC. She came on my radar three years ago. She has juice. She has style. She has skills. She has the X factor. She is Real. Now, I know the names of the teams. The stars. Her antagonists. Her sponsors. Anything connected to her. She would have brought these Canuck eyes to the US Olympic team. Without her, simply, I had no interest whatsoever. At all. Zero. Less than Zero. I would have preferred to have watched the Australian BGirl breakdance... 🍁
As a random Brit, your experience is exactly the same as mine.. Had zero interest in basketball until I came across Caitlin.. Now I subscribe to league pass to watch her games, something I’d never in a million years think I’d do.. Didn’t watch any basketball at the Olympics..no interest as the best, most impressive and humble player had been snubbed..
I'm an old point guard that didn't watch the WNBA at all. Now I don't miss a minute of Caitlin Clark. She seems to play at a faster pace than the rest of the players. That's why Indiana picked her first. Now they are probably going to the playoffs. There was a flurry of discussion about the rookie of the year honors. Forget that. Caitlin is the MVP. Why did the best selected players of the WUSA lose to the remaining All Stars? They choked! They beat France by one point. They NEEDED Caitlin Clark...
I feel the same way! They try to hard to hide their jealousy! Everyone loves a great athlete! CC is so fun to watch! I only heard of one WNBA player, Brittney G. because she was in prison in Russia! Didn't think much of her because of her disrespecting America! CC comes on the scene making headlines and I started watching! The CC effect! Petty woman always hating on each other! When you have real talent you don't have to do that!
Average WNBA pay is $116 K High tier at #250 K and low end at $60 K. To make money the players need to get an audience. Caitlin is the only player I know in the WNBA. Grinder I know of only for being arrested in Russia.
To the WNBA I say this. I'm retired my social security is roughly 17 k per year. Give me a freaking break, go cry to someone who cares. Never watched it before CC. She is the Pistol Pete of this era. By the way the record she broke was earned 16 years before the 3 point line existed in college ball.
US Women’s team knew that CC had a chance of matching DT’s Olympic gold record. In spite and to keep CC achieving this accomplishment, they kept her off
@@GJM000lol well tell them NBA to pay them more then it’s not on Clark you dunce. You’re just mad Greg that Caitlin is better than 99% of the WNBA already as a rookie and Reese is a stat padder. These chocolate tears are so salty!
Look it’s basic business principles. CC puts backsides on seats, those seats generate revenue. CC also generates huge monetary turnover in merchandising. She’s a walking talking money spinner. The fact that she will probably be a generational talent is just the cherry on top. The WNBA is largely missing a plum business opportunity that any other industry would be directly tapping in to. It’s just poor business management, nothing more, nothing less. It’s simple business management, not rocket science.
For many years the WNBA has been complaining about not getting decent pay. Caitlin bringe eyes to WNBA, she creates the opportunity for the organization to make that money they've been complaining about, and they are hating on her. They're ruining their best chance to make that money they want. 🤦♂️
@@jeffhenderson9007 she is a inexperienced and turnover prone player, who doesn't know how to lead at this level of the sport and has never known how to follow! Anyone who thinks that would've improved upon a 1 point victory over the home country is someone who doesn't understand women's basketball, if CC ever learns how championships are won she will understand why she wasn't ready for 2024!
You forgot to mention that Olympic coach's main strategy in the all star game facing CC was to double and triple team her to get the ball out of her hands from 90 feet away from the basket, all game long lol
The USA women hit TWO 3-pointers in the gold medal game and were under 40 percent from the floor. But they want you to think that Clark wasn't good enough for the team. Yeah. OK. Caitlin is rested, focused, and here to bust up the entire league. If she stays healthy, she will break the single season assist record... AS A ROOKIE.
People also fail to mention that the USA women's basketball team received referee protection in the form of 34 free throws to France's 13. USA got 27 points from free throws to France's 13 points. It was a robbery.
I am hoping so hard for her to do so. I also hope the Fever make a bit of a run in the tournament. I'm not confident enough to say they can win the championship, but they are becoming THAT team nobody wants to face in their round. Stay healthy and focused Fever and coach stay out of the way!
The old heads are gatekeeping her out of jealousy; ‘how dare she come into OUR league and be the favorite of the fans INSTANTLY’ the league is scared of CC because they know deep down she is HER, they just don’t want to admit it
What other WNBA player has to be guarded at half court like Clark? It was a disservice not only to the entire USA fan base, but the entire world that Clark was banned for no reason. Whomever made that decision is obviously unqualified.
Two points that really need to be made: 1. 10:06 You know something is wrong if SAS is making a very valid point. 2. If you're not a hoop head, you have NEVER heard the name Taurasi. She's doing some next level salty gatekeeping. If she didn't manage one rebound a game, she would have averaged.. (drum roll) almost a sextuple nothing in the olympics. .7ppg, 1rpg, .7ass, .0spg, .0bpg, .03TO, shooting at an amazing.. 16% clip. It's a fooking joke, and she's not willing to let in new blood. The WNBA seems addicted to shooting themselves in the foot.
They wanted to make sure DT got a 6th gold. A record that may never be broken because of age with CC not getting a rookie year chance. Then again CC will be to rich to worry about it.
A Golden opportunity for the WNBA...and they BLEW it! CC,brings stability to the WNBA, and for players and coaches and upper management, not to see the trees before the forest...you’ve managed to cut your own throats. Fuc*ing fools. Just an outside observation 🏀🇨🇦
I refused to even watch the Women's USA Basketball Games because the way they treated Catlin Clark!! I hope the coaching Staff get fired for the lack of respect they showed to Catlin Clark!! Mouse
Were you watching before??? If not who cares, the team had there list before she was in the League. This is their 6 straight win they didn't NEED her, you WANTED her there.
I'm French and honestly the women's defeat in final was harder to bear compared to the men's one (cause nothing to do against Steph, and imo the refs of the W final weren't great), but I feel like it is for the better that we lost in women, for the sake of the WNBA and women basketball. US losing would have shut their ego for good but they would have also lost the trust of the public in the level of the WNBA
"We have a player that's performing amazingly, everyone actually wants to watch and has dramatically improved attendance? Nah, doesn't seem like they're worth putting on the team... Wait what do you mean nobody is watching our games and we're not making money?"
The funniest thing is that there were FIVE guards on the women team USA at the Olympics in France. By the logic of the defenders of the decision to not have Caitlin Clark on the team, they must all be bnetter than her. So it's not just Diana Taurasi. It's also Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young. Claiming that Clark isn't better than any of them is just beyond ridicolous.
The league will survive now that it has a Super Star in the making...but let me be perfectly clear...by excluding CC, from the Olympic team...a Golden opportunity for WNBA was squandered. What a massive marketing mistake that was...heads should roll... Just an observation 🏀🍁
It's heartbreaking that the only one who made the WNBA a little bit respectable for 2 decades is tearing down the person she's supposed to pass the torch to.
18 PPG and leading the league in assists for a while. This woman is not playing like a rookie. Caitlin Clark is the future. She's a monster as of year 1. It didn't even take her 1 season to figure things out. I can't even imagine how awesome she's going to be in year 5 or 6 if she doesn't get injured.
Imagine you own a company that rakes in yearly negative results of $10M+, you pay your employers an average of $116k / year, and yet they bitch about being underpaid. You can't make this sh*t up. In any other line of business this would have been terminated 2 or 3 years after inception, at best.
Arike Ogunbowale and Caitlin Clark were both snubbed. Both of them should have been on the team before Taurasi and Young. Easily. Only reason Taruasi was even on the team was because she is near retirement. Clark has better stats than her in every single category. The bias of not putting Arike and Caitlin on the team were the exact reason I didn't watch a single second of it. And I loved the fact that Team USA lost to the WNBA All-Stars headlined by Ogunbowale and Clark. Definitely poetic justice.
Love your videos. I thought one of the purposes(raisin d’être) of the Olympics is bringing eyeballs and interest to lesser sports. They say every 4 years gymnastics signups spike. Love CC and her game and so far she’s just kept her head up above all the BS. The W just better hope they don’t drive her away, she’s their golden goose.
WNBA missed out on a huge opportunity to showcase CC to the world. For whatever reason, women are their own worse roadblocks to success. Jealously is a beast.
US Olympic basketball teams (male and female) have ALWAYS included 1-2 rising stars, either college players or recently drafted players. NOT taking Clarke was nothing but spite from jealous women who didn’t want a rookie outshining them. They broke from tradition and made an awful choice because their feelings were hurt. This is why women’s sports struggle to attract fans. So dumb.
"It's not the Olympic's responsibility to market the WNBA." This is objectively false. Included in the mission statement of the Olympics is "promotion of sports." That's literally marketing. When Wokies put together their DEI rosters you get low ratings or in the case of Australia you get ratings for the exact opposite reason: embarrassment.
Never watched a single sec of the 2024 US Olympic women's team playing. Been keeping up with CC, and honestly, she is very humble and entertaining to watch. I'm a fan of this future GOAT.
I know what it feels like to be snubbed and abused by jealous women. Kudos to Caitlin for her courage, hard work, skill and ability to take the high road. God bless you.
Did you see that tall girl standing there with her hands up instead of her hands down moving with Caitlin Clark the problem with the WNBA is these women very few of them actually know how to play defense they stand there with their hands up like that's going to do something no you actually have to get your hands down to move your body and then you get in front of the girl and put your hands up I don't know who coaches these girls but they have no Basics and I'm sick of watching them even just for Caitlin
Most absurd if not racist example of the WNBA and the Olympic game Organization NOT including Caitlin Clark in the lineup totally and completely ABSURD!
In the whole discussion of gender equality (which i am all for), no one of importance is prepared to admit that the WNBA is not a fun to watch. With the exception of a few good players, ive seen better games from high-school kids. Now there is Caitlin Clark, a basketball player with the skills, talent, and attitude that the league has always needed. It shows how average the players in the league really are. That they needed a better product... one they could sell.
It is such a girls club there that they will not bend at all to make it better. They fight and ridicule CC and hate her yet benefit from the private flights which is the reason for the bigger loss, they benefit from larger gates and more exposure but will say it's organic growth - no it's exponential as a result of Clark
I'm kind of sick of hearing thing like they don't make enough money, they have to go play overseas. Britney was making over 200k a year when she was playing in the Russian League as well that's almost 5 times the national avg in the US. And that's before merch and endorsements. She was making more then "enough", she just wasn't making what she wanted. Huge difference. Even the league min is almost 20 grand higher then the avg income.
Yup he made a killing in Russia although finds it hard to not get buzzed hence his situation, seen him play games with CC and he's huge by size but not talent, lucky for him he was traded for that mass killer in Russia, kind of very sad for the military guy left behind
The numbers for womens team USA did not get released for attendance. Stephen A found out anyway turns out they got below 13K for most the games in Paris. They would have sold out every game and expanded the WNBA brand in a big way if CC was there.
It is hilarious that the Womens team were somehow concerned they might not win gold so they need some "dream team" roster when they've literally won gold since the 90s and have never been remotely challenged. They're not the men's team where a bunch of international teams have caught up.
Has nothing to do with Hypocrisy, pure simple ignorance by the decision-makers...each and every one of them should now be left out of their decision-making positions.
They say they deserve more money, but you need more viewers to have more money, but they leave CC off of the Olympic team and say “they don’t need to worry about marketing” Make it make sense
