The iconic objects of The Sims franchise 

I was fully expecting you to put babies as an iconic object for the sims 4 😂

I keep forgetting how kid-targeted the sims 4 is… and then we look at the sims 1

When I first loaded up The Sims 4 and saw the Sims CLIMBING out of the pool, I could've sworn a tear of betrayal ran down my face...

Some Sims 3 things I think are also iconic are the jellybean bush, the deepfryer/ice cream machine, and baby/toddler stuff (stroller, baby swing, playpen, etc.)

Sims 4 iconic objects: the wishing well and that pod bed thing from Get Famous. Also the shrub your sims can use to 'fertilize' or woohoo in.

In the Sims 4, I think the wohoo bushes are one of the most iconic items in the game!

I feel like aspiration rewards in 2 are all memorable The hour glass life elixir, a literal electric chair, the giant ball that changes your aspiration. The spinny ball ride in the club is sick too The only one I can thing of from the more recent games is that weird claw time machine from 3. And the dj booth from 4 since it's so well designed

The love hot tub from Sims 2 gets me every time. Iconic.

I remember deleting the sims 1 heart bed from their houses after using it so my mom wouldn’t see 💀 I was 9 and had to beg her to let me buy a teen rated game so she was very suspicious…if she had only known how suggestive sims 1 was lmao

I never forget how traumatized my cousin and I were when we discovered the bed didn't say "juice in bed" but more like "games ;) in bed". In Spanish it said "jueguitos en la cama" and we read "juguitos en la cama" 🤣🤣

You know what? For me the observatory from the Sims 4 IS iconic. I remember when I played a game where I decided to try and woohoo/make a baby with every single sim that visited my household. My first victim was the cleaner, a bald guy looking an awful lot like Mr Clean named Jacob. We woohoo'd in the observatory and got twins, named Observatory Jacob I and Observatory Jacob II (well, OJ I and OJ II for short - their full names didn't fit). Of course the household was a mess and we didn't have time for twins so OJ II was put in a one by two square and taken away by social services. But OJ I and in extension his spawning point the observatory both live in my heart 💖

The love bed reminds me of CallMeKevin and without context that is very strange

Totally still wish for a smaller version, but the baking machine in the sims 4 is certainly iconic. And the giant telescope for that matter.

Sims 3 for me is the band instruments. The fact that you can have multiple sims playing together is chef’s kiss. Also the space and rainbow castle mural wallpapers in Sims 3. I’d intentionally design rooms with a three panel wall so my kids could have one. Sims 2 I would have every family member with their own mechanic car just because I had one or two sim needs to increase that skill and doing the car was the best way to go about leveling it up. I think I had six in total once and had the most ridiculously huge driveway to accomodate them all.

The dancing floor and cage were part of the house party expansion pack I believe. The costume chest was one of my all time favorite objects!!!

I had a butterfly chair and inflatable foot stool (pouffe) in the late 90s/00s. The early 00s was peak tat! Beaded curtains, lava or UFO lamps, inflatable furniture 🙌🤩 What a time to be alive 😅

If I could add anything to your list from the original Sims, it's the Barcelona kitchen counter. That curvy one, you know which one I'm talking about. There's a whole Twitter account dedicated to that counter and I feel it. I used that counter in every single house I lived in.

i mean most things from the sims 3 generations but esp the costume box for kids and the canes for old sims. the martial art stuff from world adventures is pretty iconic too IMO. the pee bushes in the sims 4 is pretty iconic too

Rebuilding the car in the Sims 2 was my favourite thing and I would always cheat money just to have it. Such a cool car after all the work. And spiral stairs! Aw. now I'm nostalgic.

I think I had one of those inflatable armchairs, when I was a kid - but I always wanted a sofa one! I used to look at them all in the Argos catalogues 😂😂

I feel like in the sims 2, the telescope from dons rooftop is one of the most iconic items. Also in the sims 4, the vampire stuffed bear that doesn't show up in mirrors swell as that ridiculously large cupcake machine.

Cow plant in sims 2 University was very iconic for me and my sister

Can't remember if they were from a pack or not, but the sims 2 had these like cube lights that you could stack on top of each other and I used to go MENTAL with them, and having them all set to flash different colours 😭 wreaked havoc on my framerate

Fun fact: The original sims game had spiral staircases that came with Unleashed EP. Over time they have just been an iconic item. I also think the dancing cage from Sims 1 was pretty out there in it's time.

Autumnal weather is my favorite too! Fog and rain are my jam. ☔️🍂🍁☁️ I honestly kind of get a little bit of reverse seasonal depression during the peak of summer because it’s just too hot and humid here and my body hates the heat. 😒

The Sims 1 truly had lovely objects and wallpapers. The art and design had so mich atmosphere. Makin' Magic was so beautiful in a way they haven't been able to achieve with a magic pack since.

my earliest memory of ts3 is that outdoors playhouse. i was in a tennis camp and this rich girl brought her stupid macbook. we played the sims 3 and i was AMAZED at this crystal clear graphics n shit and THAT GARDEN HOUSE THINGbut i only had the stinky old ts2. later that day the laptops charger burned down and started a fire in the motel:)) i sadly never convinced my anti video game mom to get me the sims 3 and i jumped straight from ts2 to ts4 when it came out.

The dancing cage from Sims 1 came with House Party I think. This thing was iconic within the iconic category. For the Sims 4 I'd add the decoration box from Seasons. It's a money maker. Love the elements collection, too! It's mad underrated!

When I was in 5th grade, I remember one of my friends trying to explain the Sims (1) to me and talking about that vibrating bed. I'm not sure we completely understood it back then, but it does bring back memories 😅.

I have CC beds for the kid's beds from TS2 that you showed. The space and castle ones. The CC came with the whole bedroom set and wall/floor patterns!

I think one of the most iconic things for The Sims 1 for me was The haunted spooky world in the clown world you could go to and ride the roller coasters

seeing the neglect house followed by the shagger house was an uncomfortable moment because I briefly judged you then realised I have the exact same equivalent sim households, I'm just too cowardly to really call them what they are like you do

The vibrating heart bed really is the most iconic Sims item. I've played since the first Sims game and I may not remember much, but i absolutely remember that bed and I thought it was the coolest thing 🤣

The most iconic item I remember from the Sims 1: The dive-tank, I LOVED it! I think it came with the Superstar-pack? I remember once a burglar came to my lot and just stole the entire, huge dive tank and put it in his little bag 😶😂

I hope we get back to a more adult and unhinged sims when Sims5 comes out. The vibrating bed, Spiral staircases, the group smoking bubble thing (Sims2), the loveheart hottub, the dance club dancing floor and cage, and the cake entertainer are the best. Also I want robbers back.

that’s SO TRUE about autumn weather i have MDD (major depressive disorder- basically clinical depression but juicy) and i LOVE cold weather and rain. if anything, it’s summer that makes me more depressed.

I'm sure someone already mentioned this, the dancing thing I believe you were referring to was the dancing cage, and it was included with the Sims 1 through the Hot Date expansion. The Sims 1 also introduced spiral staircases with the Living Large expansion I believe. Great video though! The Sims 1 really felt unhinged, especially when it came to it's many expansion packs, base game Sims 1 is actually pretty family friendly for the most part, if you don't include the creepy Goth house, the sound effects, and let's not forget the prank calls the probably terrified many kids.

My personal sims 4 iconic objects: The cupcake machine, The Wishing Well, the talking toilets, patchy, pufferfish nigiri, the shark-themed slip-n-slide, the anniversary hot tub, the get together closets and bushes, spooky stuff wallpapers, the plumbob lamps, the tragic clown painting, and the baby yoda statue. I'm not even a star wars fan but I just think he's such a funny thing to hide on lots.

Man. This honestly solidified how I've been feeling about the Sims 4. All previous sims games had so much character and personality and honestly pretty iconic silliness and imagination behind it. Sims 4 feels like it's become an aesthetic showroom of idyllic suburban life. I enjoy the Sims 4, but it's lacking what made me fall in love with the franchise as a kid.

My inflatable chair was always the comfiest (she was purple and stunning) because I never fully inflated it so I could sink into it a little. Also I'm bi and it was perfect for sitting weirdly in Edit: I think the dancing cage came with the Sims House Party? But I may be misremembering. Iconic Sims 1 item, though, that giant aquarium you could swim in
