20th Anniversary Show (Live at Wacken 2019)
For the greater part of the Wacken concert, we commandeered the festival’s two main stages, the side-by-side-and-connected Faster and Harder Stages, becoming the first artist in Wacken’s 30-year history to utilize both stages simultaneously in this way. During this show we were joined by the Great War choir, a bunch of previous Sabaton members as well as the internationally acclaimed GRAMMY-nominated virtuoso cellist Tina Guo for the encore.

Choosing military history or just history in general was the best decision Sabaton ever made. I remember watching a stream of Total War Warhammer in 2016, the guy blasting Swedish Pagans while playing Norsca. It immediately caught my attention, meanwhile a song about being angry, drinking beer or whatever, would not have attracted me. Then I found the song and then listened to Winged Hussars after that. I was hooked after hearing a song so well written about a subject no one really talked about. So yeah, the fact that now, under every video of a battle covered by Sabaton, there is an army of fans talking about the band probably led to it's success.

My first Sabaton song is Night Witches on spotify. At the time I didn't know that the lyrics has a historical reference. But I got hooked to the melody and looked for the songs artist. I found sabaton and the rest is history.

Actually that's exactly how i met sabaton, I was playing Hearts of Iron 4, and had the dlc activated (I didn't knew at the time). Suddenly Night Witches start playing and I'm like "Damn, this song is fucking cool" so i added it to Spotify and once i searched and discovered it was based on a true story I got hyped as fuck to listen to more sabaton.

You guys are awesome. Found you in the early days too, really happy with the direction you guys took. Love the power metal but also love the really chill songs. And you also make history lessons fun an interesting, both through your music, and your history channel. History is important, it needs to be remembered, told and shared. Anybody else want way more parts than four? Right before the lockdowns they were doing the behind the scenes at the tours taking turns following a different band member each time. That was GREAT entertainment because these guys are so fun. I hate reality TV but I love reality youtube with these guys. It's too bad other bands don't copy them. Within Temptation got close but not so much anymore and Nightwish, don't get me started on them.

I think a good topic for a song would be that time on the Eastern Front in WW1, where German and Russian troops basically had to stop in the middle of a fight to fend off being attacked by wolves, then made a truce to work together to continue repelling the wolf attacks.

The first listen to a Sabaton song was really on accident. It was some background music on some tribute video and was like "what the heck is this song?!" (it was Metal Ripper). Then I found out it was by Sabaton, searched for music, and first song to popup was Ghost Division. So then I proceeded to buy every single album after listening. No regrets!

Just to throw my opinion into the ring: Guys, listening to Sabaton being a history lesson in metal is one of the most amazing things f***ing ever. This is one of the things i love Sabaton for: Not only great f***ing metal, but You guys make history f***ing interesting. Something at least my school teachers definitely sucked at. I have a very soft spot in my heart for all u-boat- and submarine-related history, but You guys sparked a general interest in things i didnt know of in the first place. So yeah, in case You weren't aware: You're not only making great music, You're educating people and get them to dig into things they considered boring. That's what i call culture, that's what i call teaching. And that's f***ing awesome! So do. not. stop. ever. Keep going! With that being said: Noch ein Bier! 😉

Wait...so, if Primo Victoria is the first album, then what is Fist to Fight? Thats what got me into Sabaton....I dont even remember where I got the album from, but there were some awesome tracks on it, before the whole military history idea started. When Prim Victoria dropped (I was still in the military) and it happened to be on 6th of June and I remember that I was heading to base and I was so eager to listen to the album that I popped it in the CD player in my car, and after formation, our CO asked if anyone had anything to say... I raise my hand, and wanted to say a word about D Day, as none of us had realized that it was in fact that day many years ago...I was so pumped up by the album, that I wanted to motivate my troops too!

panzer battalion was my first too. i found a gmv about armored core. i searched the game and in the coments i saw sabaton, you know were this is going. and my history teacher raged about me because i learned only irrelevant and wrong things ftom her in school history class. and now ima historean myself, thanks to the real teacher SABATON younwere small as i found you in my town in the hellraiser club and soon again in the quaterback arena in leipzig. im shaking like a racedog till youre finaly back in leipzig.

I discovered sabaton after watching GIFs with sound videos that would periodically use the opening line of "Panzerkampf" which I wanted to find the song because I'm a huge history nerd. I fell in love when I discovered that that's the subject of most of your songs.
