The author of the book as well as everyone associated with the movie say it is not a Harry Styles fan fiction. The author said she got the idea for the book when she was reading about Harry Styles dating an older woman and thought “boy band celebrity falls in love with an older woman” would make an interesting thing to write about. But she created the character of Hayes Campbell to stand on his own. So feel free to get the idea of “One Direction“ out of your mind, if that helps you watching the movie. And Galitzine sounds like magazine, if that helps. Also, your video would be more watchable if you didn’t interrupt the film every second and nitpick angrily about everything.
Honestly, it wasn't the idea of a "Harry Styles Fanfiction" that affected my view on the movie. In fact, it had very little input on it; I referred to it as such because that is how it's being marketed to the masses (and it's a smart marketing strategy at that). I was more focused on the fact that the concept behind the film was let down by the film itself - there was definitely potential behind it, but unfortunately, the writing and directing were lacking. Also, your advice regarding "nit-picking" is noted; however, this is a movie commentary channel, so I will be commenting on the films I watch, which sometimes involves picking them apart. If that isn't something you're interested in, that's totally okay! However, if you enjoy the channel and the content, unsolicited advice isn't helpful, especially when it is not said kindly. This is a very new channel, and I'm learning as I go!

The book’s author and everyone connected to the movie have repeatedly distanced themselves from that association. If you watch interviews and press junkets with the actors, you will see them quickly shut it down when it’s brought up. And nothing I said about your video was unkind. I just pointed out how your review came across. It wasn’t a well prepared critique of what you disliked, it was a knee jerk bombardment of negativity every few seconds. If that’s what you’re trying to achieve, then you’re doing a good job. Otherwise perhaps take it down a notch and your reviews will be less choppy. I wish you luck with your channel but be prepared for viewers to give you “unsolicited”feedback…..good and bad. You really will have to get used to that or you’re in for a rude awakening. Just ignore what offends you. If I were doing a channel that’s what I would do. You’ll be happier that way.
@@casey.r No bro. But I have read the book and seen the movie including multiple interviews with the book’s author, the movie’s director and the actors who star in it. Also, why do you care if I try to correct misinformation?
