I have watched this movie at least 4 times and have watched the music videos and learning all the words to this amazing music. I think it is the best movie I have seen in a long time.

This is a really good movie...a different love story, right up there with The Way We Were, The Bridges of Madison County and PS I love you.......A keeper for sure. The music is pretty good too...loved it.

Seen several clips of this movie and I am going to pass. It seems instead of being about them, their lives or feelings its about the age difference. Throughout the movie they seem to bring it up and hit each other over the head with it. The back and forth seems boring and when Nick says 'you didn't fight for us' I was done. Alex/Taylor: crossed an ocean, stormed a castle (in the rain) and spoke up to the king and all Solene can do is run away? Like they are both too ashamed to be in the relationship. Check please.
I loved Red White and Royal Blue but I liked The Idea of You and I think they broke up because of the daughter. She did get back with him once until it became too much for her daughter. And besides I got to see Nicholas Galatzine again.
I just watched it. Not even close to the book. Izzy's age is wrong. Hayes and Sol's ages are wrong. So much left out of the book that should have been in the movie. The ending was stupid.
@@Rheinmeister09The book’s ending is shit. They break up and went their separate ways but in the movie, there’s a glimmer of hope they will keep on being together. Solene and Hayes’s ages in the book, were greatly exaggerated: a 19 year age gap. But in the movie, it’s a lot more healthy: 16 year age gap. It’s not even close to an age of being mom and son. It’s an age of when the woman could have been a teenage nanny and who comes to look out for a five year old after school.
Not a big deal. Couples of the same age are divorcing every 5 min ......so ease your conservative mind..... a little. She looks great and "he" seems much more mature than many...................... 40 years old!!!!

Just think of these names and that should tell you how stupid this film is... Hayes Campbell vs Campbell Hayes cause I guess that's just not special enough. Solene - even in France you won't find anyone pretentious enough to name their child that. And finally, the name of the painting, "Unclose Me" - no such word in the English language. Also, who would ever buy a mediocre painting with such an obnoxious title? Whoever it is, I hope I never run into them. 🤯
