After the Military parade in the morning of Victory Day, there is, in a way a much larger parade that takes place. About a million people alone, men, women and children of all ages, come out with pictures of their relatives that they lost in what the Russians call, The Great Patriotic War (WWII) defeating the Nazis. 28 million Soviets lost their lives. It touched every family, and is still remembered strongly. The people came and walked all day, nearly a million, and similar parades are held in St. Petersburg, as well as other Russian cities, and indeed around the world now. The Soviet Union, allied with Britain, France and the United States fighting Nazi Germany, suffered by far the most, and know the horrors of war better than any of us.
