I bought an Imperial eagle to complete the rank up mission to master, it was supposed to be a quick bounty mission but i accidentally fired in a no fire zone, and had to fly 120 light years back to where i needed to be. In that time my systems kept falling apart and it kept over heating, by the time i docked i didn't have my lasers, docking computer, cargo hatch, and barely had my thrusters. but for some reason that just made me like the ship more, i feel like i bonded with it, i named it Mocha cause yeah it's a bit hot, but i love it.

This was the first ship I bought. And although I learned (the hard way) how fragile it is, also learned how good it can become. This ship taught me so much, how and what to outfit, what and when to engage, which enemies to avoid altogether. As starting pilot, this has to be the king of RES[Low], and yeah is drop dead gorgeous.

I have to say I absolutely love your editing style, your sense of professionalism in how you talk and how you don't go with everyone says and you give your honest opinion, so now if I'm interested in a ship I go to your channel to see if it's a good choice. Keep up the good work man.

I have to say you make some of the most engaging and beautiful ship spotlights of all the E:D content creators. Well done. I hope to see more of your work as more relevant content is released. A content creator can throw stats at me all day long, but if the video does not engage my mind and hold my attention, they are damn useless to me.

You can get the FSD to 40 ly. Exploring in style with a small agile imperial eagle. It's a bit impractical though so I ripped out the AFMUs and scanners etc. replaced them with extra fuel tanks and flight assistance computers. Makes the prettiest bubble bus you can imagine!

I like eagles a lot. When I see them in ressource zones it's like burning an ant with a magnifying glass.

my favorite ship for general fun, also: 3 HP, cant go wrong(if doing lazy bounties at nav points i will take a bigger death machine, or mining in a krait/vette)

In terms of aesthetics the Imperial Eagle is a beautiful ship but sadly I think a major issue with Elite has always been the way ships have been implemented. The Eagle is touted as a specialised light fighter but, as you yourself stated, if you're going out there for a fight then the Cobra is on the list of options over an Eagle. To me there is something wrong about this when you consider that the Cobra is advertised as a multirole vessel. I watched this video to see if anything had changed in Elite but it still appears as though my biggest gripes of role identity and more expensive ships always being the sounder option are still prevalent. While the argument can be made for making your own personal goals or even adopting role play, I found it very hard to justify cheaper/smaller ships once you entered in the more expensive options. I proposed a number of options to address this on the official forums but, while I did have some support, it was met with far more pushback. At a guess this latter group was probably populated by those who were happy in their pimped out Anacondas and Corvettes but that's speculative.

It's not the same, medium hardpoint, faster prettier, it's a tad more maneuverable due to more forward thrust.

I occasionally allow my daughter to play. Her ship is an imperial eagle named “Pinkachu” and yes it’s very pink. And she likes to go out to the nav becon and kill pirates with it. Lots of giggles and maniacal laughter... and yes it’s a-rated and engendered...

The Imperial Eagle has to be my current favorite ship. It's so much fun for canyon flying that if that's all this game had to offer, I'd still be flying every day without complaints. I have VR, I have a proper HOTAS, I have Two Steps From Hell music playing on Pandora over the game audio. The only thing I don't have to complete the immersion of pod racing is a simulator setup that pitches, rolls, and yaws my seat as my ship moves. I've never had as much of a religious experience with Elite as when I was flying the Imperial Eagle at 720 m/s through the tight and dangerous turns of a 10 km deep and 100 km long canyon system on some wackass moon 500 light years in the wrong direction, all while listening to an orchestral battle charge that wouldn't have gone amiss during the storming of the Black Gate of Mordor.

im just imagining a "retirement" from ED ship reviews, into the lucrative business of silly videos like "the marked man", or expanding into new games and genres all together. keep up the good work pilot, i know im along for the ride.

After he's done reviewing the ships, he's on to reviewing all the stations. I think there's about 35,000 of those so it should keep him busy . On a slightly more serious note, I wouldn't mind a pilots report or mini bio on each of the major faction leaders. What it's like to work for them, the perks, their characteristics back story, personalities etc.

Damn it! I try and have good morals and stay out of the imperial slave trade in E:D but I have been seduced by the Courier, Clipper and Cutter. Now I want this as well... so getting one once I turn on Elite.

Without a doubt my favourite ship. Is it efficient? No. Is it fun? Ohhhh hell yes.

I got it... watched someone else's video awhile back... all they did was bash it... they basically said it was the scout and the Eagle II was the explorer... I didn't care. It just looked so cool, and I had fun flying it. Was it the "best?" Nope. Did I have fun flying it? Yes. And, in the end, that was all that mattered.

I've just gotten back in ED and I somehow ended up with one of these, it was the first ship i bought and i still have it, i just love the way it looks better than the standard eagle, and its not a bad little in system run about or bounty hunter, and it kinda reminds me of riding my motorcycle lol

the biggest problem is the game give you no reason to use small ship. unless you are done with grinding, bored and just fly for the sake of flying small ship. it give you no tactical advantage of being small and agile. When you are elite your assassination target is always vette and sometimes cutter. You can't do hide and seek, ambush in belt like star war. You don't have speed running type mission to justify the need of speed.

Honestly, as an amateur Elite player, since I've discovered your videos I always come here to check out your review whenever I'm considering buying a new ship. Reddit and other sites are always so subjective, "i prefer this" etc. but your "no bullshit to the point" reviews have helped me in every single purchase I've made since getting into this game.

Sadly, although pretty, it's a pretty bad racer too. It's acceleration and agility really suffer with weakish thrusters and poor boosting capability with class 2 distro. Much better flying a Viper for high speed & agility or a regular Eagle for the fun+agility. Definitely one for those who don't know better, as said on the vid :)

Loads of fun trolling gankers and pvp shitbrains with this, interdicting them and laughing as they can't catch up.

Needs to ditch the medium hardpoint for 2 small hardpoints (for 4 small max), upgrade the thrusters to next stage, upgrade the power capacitor to next stage, and offer kits like the other ships. Then it would be sick. Visual upgrades over the core eagle didn't really make it into the actual stat block as much as it could. Love the ship. Just needs some better core setup.

Thanks for this video review, stunning shots here and there and interesting opinion about it, probably a pretty pragmatical one. I want this shit among the few ships, I would like to own (like 5-6), and I kinda prefer this one due to the higher speed. I don't know due to the big changes the game has had if the normal eagle doesn't allow to kit it with stuff that makes anyway speedy as the imperial potential. Anyway I am gonna find a way to get this: this game is fun when you create your or your team mate interesting quests to fulfill etc...

The Imperial Eagle will always stay in my fleet. I had the most difficult time when I started off in this game. I could not survive combat, I couldn’t complete any missions due to piracy or lack of combat capability. And I finally had enough and decided to buy the imperial eagle and the rest is history. This ship showed me it is possible to be get shit done hahah.

I've built mine for mostly speed but some utility. All speed everything except max full, good FSD and a size 1 bi weave shield. Not engineered yet. Haven't got anything engineered on any of my ships because I don't really think it's worth the stupid grind but ~900 mps is worth it and the engineering grind makes for a fun change of style compared to the usual. Speedway red is best skin on Imperial eagle btw

I really began to love the Imperial Eagle after putting high performance thrusters on it and engineering G5 dirty drives. A boost speed of ~650 m/s is makes for a great hit and run ship.

Im fairly new to this game myself, however I fly with members of a community finding bounties, and this is the ship I run, and I like it.

I really loved the imperial eagle before the engineers update. Back when it was about the flying and less about the modification you made to it. Back then an A rated Imperial eagle could take on an Anaconda in a real David and Goliath battle based purely in dog fighting skills. You grab an anaconda by the tail and you just hung on till you killed it bit by bit. It felt more pure/raw back then. Now its just a glorified racer for me.

An Imperial Eagle outfitted with 3A Enhanced Thrusters from Felicity Farseer engineered to grade 5 can cruise at 600m/s and boost at 800 m/s. It's fucking fast, and if you fly in FAO while trying to encircle a fed at a federal Orbis Station - well, give it a try. You'll love it or die.

I recently got me the imperial eagle and I am pretty happy with it. Ok, PC gameplay is something else than console and right now I can't play public due to my NAT code... But upgraded and equipped with some explosives on the 2 class wp rack you can be pretty annoying in gunfights with 1 or more ships as backup. 1v1 however can be different of course.

Been flying a Keelback for a while, outfitted as an armed merchant/miner... And after I got tired of getting outturned by fucking everything (because I'm stupid and I won't run away from a fight), I stored that thing away and got an Imp Eagle, so I can pull 400G turns for no reason. Love it.

Still a noob to this game but this ship does not sacrifice any function in favor of form. Why sacrifice form when it can have all the function? The Imperial Eagle is not a knock off. It was what the Eagle MK III could have been with proper cloning (breeding?). Before I even owned this game I learned I was going to be an Imperial brat. I would say I regret flying anything that was not "Gutamaya built" but I must appreciate what made the credits to buy Gutamaya products.

Damn. This video must not be fitted with a good FSD because it took WAY TOO LONG to come out.

* ~Space Time~* I use my IE as an SR-71, where speed is both it's primary armor as well as it's weapon, which means killing anything was never the point. The point is the speed.

My Imperial Eagle was my favorite ship, in fact, it was the only ship i could fly do to how long i used it, i simply wasn't able to fly or use anything bigger. Not that it ever bothered me, i was able to solo Anacondas and a pair of chieftains with it, and now that I'm getting back into the game, I'm worried I'll do the same thing. Jk, not worried about that at all, time to do some sick stunts.

I guess Im just a fighter pilot, because the Eagle is still the only ship that I can come back in, without a scratch on the paintjob. Yes you heard that right, for whatever reason I do best in combat, flying eather version of the Eagle. How can you not get hit in some giant lumbering slow moving target? And my other ship is a Vulture. Because snakes are just a snack for birds of pray... remember that.

I love my engineered imperial eagle.. I’ve taken down chieftain’s, kraits, clippers anaconda’s u just stick on there ass with a big overcharged multi canon and 2 engineered beam laser’s..a little engineered shielding and u can be a force to be reckoned with…

this ship is like the fiat 124 of elite. at its core its a good reliable ship. then some foreigners with arguably more style made it cool and a little faster.

Lol he called me out hard, I'm the guy who initially started flying both eagle and ieagle because I had something to prove. My buddy told me they were shitty paper ships that couldn't really kill anything, and was adamant that I should get a vulture like him (right or wrong, he tends to tell people how to play a game in the name of absolute efficiency, sometimes it's asked for, most times it isnt.). I now use the ieagle and complete high end bounties just to spite him, killing ships far stronger than ones he's capable of, even if it takes me longer, I still ended up being the overall better pilot and it rustles his jimmies
