IW should of let us customize more. Z Goku and Vegeta should be able to turn SSJ4 via items.(or change the costume on GT Vegeta and Goku. I hate short haired Vegeta and kid Goku) I'm fine with dragon rush getting cut BUT they should've let us choose our supers. (Let us switch out the spirit bomb or dragon fist qith the "Instant Transmission Kamehameha " on one of Goku's forms. Or Final Flash with Vegeta.
Also, I've thought about IW as a "Budokai 3.5", just like you. And we decided to mod it into the actual "Budokai 4" it deserved to be, maybe that will be interesting to you. :)
I bought this game pretty much as a fluke because I found it at my local Walmart, completely unaware of how the game was, how it played, or really anything about it at all. It was a DragonBall game I had never heard of. When I realized it was pretty much Budokai 4, it became my favorite DragonBall game of the PS2 era. I’m glad people are starting to recognize how good this game was!
It’s really hard to enjoy budokai 1-3 and not love this game! I think a lot of people missed out on it due to when it was released. Really deserved a ps3 port in my opinion
@@mysteriousthirteen Honestly. Burst Limit may have had better visuals but IW was definitely the better game. If they had this with with Burst Limits visuals rather than 2 different games it would probably be one of the greatest DragonBall games of all time.
@ChrisBleu I actualy find shin budokai a better sequals and sort of a sequal to budkai and it's limited gameplay. Never played infinite world but budkokai 3 and tenkahichi 2 when first played felt like a breath of fresh air no longer stuck on a plane

@@mysteriousthirteen it was truly brutal. I put it easily in my top 3 hardest games of all time for that reason. Didn’t spend a lot of time in the shop lol. I tried to basically do a Hit time-skip move and predict exactly what the ai was going to do. 100% Frieza and Kid Buu were absolutely the hardest fights I remember
@@A.C.E.Kid boo is hard but can be beaten w/out the skills/itens with some combos he can be cheesed w goku kick loops if you block cancel so i have (due to a challenge) beaten him no itens no skills and on hard dificulty (sorry bad english)
6:30 , lot of others i've chatted with have agreed that its a pretty clear oversight from the devs. They forgot to adjust the difficulty for the Ai. In easy or hard mode, the enemy will still have the same number of health bars and read your inputs for combos. The Kid buu and Shenron fights made me ragequit so many times, since there was no way to make them easier. Also 11:09 is another oversight they missed. I still have alot of fun with IW, but its just below Budokai3 for me.
I own all 3 Budokai games and Infinite World. I bought my copies release day, infinite world was definitely the best one of the Budokai series. I actually played Infinite world mainly on the PS3 since I had a launch model PS3 with full backwards compatibility. I still have both Infinite World and that same PS3 both still working.
@@mysteriousthirteen yeah I did the same thing and played burst limit as well. I bought it at launch too when it came with a copy of Dead zone on Blu-ray for the PlayStation 3. I'm surprised you didn't talk about the PSP Budokai games. They were also pretty interesting and use the same engine but had some differences.

FOR ANYONE NEW TO THIS GAME -- Both Frieza and Cooler are OP, the both have a purchasable skill that allows them to respawn as the metal versions of themselves with FULL HEALTH upon defeat in a match. so if used the cpu has to beat you twice in one match to win
@@mysteriousthirteen Definitely try it out. best thing about it is that your final score and the amount of money you make is heavily determined by your end health at the difficulty. so, in some situations it'll be advantageous to die and respawn with a full health bar before you finish the cpu. This + Z difficulty = Easy Jackpot 💰💰 You'll have all the skills purchased in no time💪🏾

I'm glad you not only spoke thoroughly about IW and its gameplay, but you even mentioned cancels! My only clarification would be that the game isn't hard 'cause it wants you to equip a lot of capsules, but it wants you to *learn* canceling. You can beat Z difficulty without taking damage nor equipping boosting capsules, if you master canceling. All in all, great video.
So glad you enjoyed it! I tried my best with mastering cancels, got a few good clips but it was difficult to learn, for me in the time I had with the game. If I ever get around to doing a part 2 I will definitely dive deeper into that :)

@@mysteriousthirteenI 100% agree with you but I still do think this is like a mash up of all three budokai games, the mini games fully fleshed out and cutscenes like the og budokai, the map overworld that’s similar to budokai 2, then the playstyle of budokai 3 with extra content, not to mention the the cutscenes are the same artstyle of the dragonball hero’s card game in Japan😂
I remember grinding this game all night the day I got it with my cousins. Great memories with most of the old PS2 Dbz games. Hope you make a video specifically about Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
So you didn’t play the game through on Z difficulty? Cause to say it isn’t “that” difficult is crazzyyy 😭 Kid buu, Shenron, & Janemba were hell for me when i was a kid.
I played this game and Budokai 3 recently, both for the first time in years.i didn't realize just how different they were. Budokai 3 felt notably slower and I was frustrated playing it b/c it was just hard for some reason. I seemingly forgot to play. But when I played IW, I got up to speed pretty quickly. The only hang up was the X button was mapped to charge ki instead of Dodge/block. Other than that, it was way more fluid, much more intense. My point is, it still holds up! This game only lacks the presentation of other Z game and other game modes.
Definitely can agree with that, the gameplay feels quicker and faster here. If we had world tournament it would’ve felt like a more complete experience IMO
Thanks for your work, this is by far the best video that I’ve seen on DBZ Infinite World ! We want a part 2 🥳 In my opinion, the gameplay of IW is a mix of Budokai 3 and DBZ Shin Budokai on PSP and this makes the game more dynamic, strategic and fair than Budokai 3, examples : - they add the Ki guard which is a great mecanic for the defense but very energy-hungry, so the fight becomes automatically more strategic when used properly - no more shitty random feature like the Dragon Rush 🎉🎉 - the gameplay is a bit more accelerated which makes the game more nervous than Budokai 3 - and for the ultimate attacks without QTE like teen Gohan’s Kamehameha or the Makankosappo, we have the choice not to play with them to keep the gameplay as it was in Budokai 3 *OR* we can only choose them to have a gameplay similar to the Shin Budokai series. Also I love the exclusive characters of this game, so for the versus mode my preference goes to DBZ Infinite World for sure 😌❤️

Thank you :) You know, I haven’t played the shin budokai games in at least 15 years - so the fact that it took elements from it didn’t correlate with me when making this vid. I do plan on playing through those games so when I see the similarities I’ll be sure to point them out! Otherwise completely agree, I felt way more challenged and the fights are much more nerve racking than B3
Nostalgic Vibes... In my opinion DBZ Infinite World is a step up in the right direction from DBZ Budokai 3 in fighting mechanics apart of the removal of beam struggle. But other than that Infinite World is essentially better than Budokai 3 because we get a few more characters in the overall roster and the gameplay it's more versatile and fast-paced, the only complain about Infinite World it's the removal of the Tournament Mode. 🤷🏻♂️✌️

IW got rid of the dragon rush supers. I'd be fine with it if we could SWITCH supers. (The "Final Flash" and "Instant Transmission Kamehameha " were awesome) Also splitting the SSJ4 form from Z Vegeta and Z Goku was LAME!😂
Remember ordering this from Amazon for keeping my grades up in school as a reward the dark souls of dragon ball 😂😂but at least everything including Gt is in this game the time chamber training missions were pretty cool ❤❤

I’m glad someone caught that 😂 all jokes man, we’re still young I think the game got a bad rep at the time for being too similar to Budokai 3. But even if that’s true, the improvements to an already great system make it worth it for me
Crazy. I been doing deep dives on this game. Recently picked it back up and no beam struggles aside it's prolly the best fighter in the series aside from "Fighterz"
Have to agree with you, so far at least. I’m replaying every dbz game here on the channel. B3 is great, and more nostalgic for me. But in terms of gameplay this just takes it to the next level
great video i agree on most of the points and I think that from a creative perspective it is the best of the budokai series but the skill list is sometimes frustrating and gaining zeni is so slow and can be very tedious, also can be very difficult compared to 3, but 2 was just as hard, it very much feels like a highlight reel of the budokai series
Yeah, I honestly agree with your take for the most part as well. I did find the game tried to hard to be a “highlight reel” as opposed to its own thing, but I think they pulled that off pretty well. They just needed to balance the game a bit better is all lol
So glad finally got to see this. I loved this more then burst limit and running on snake way and frezia’s mini game was so memorable and fun. I been playing the mod version which definitely interesting.
@@mysteriousthirteen yes they replace some outfit like Yamcha as frezia soldier but from what I remember think it has ego vegeta , golden frezia , goku black, etc. I don’t think black frezia is in it but I could be wrong.
I feel like too much of something sort of bites something already perfect in the behind, Budokai 3 was perfect, but i will mention the added characters playable in Infinite World would have made Budokai 3 a whole lot better.
I can completely respect that take. Budokai 3 was/is perfect, and has a much more “complete” feel too it. But, I’m still glad they made IW. Any return to the OG budokai formula will be met with open arms by me lol

Definitely an option I can respect. I dig both of them for different reasons - it felt great to not have to deal with dragon rush in IW but B3 feels like a much more complete package. I’m also a sucker for the mini games in IW so that sways my opinion a tad haha
No point of talking about a game that you can’t buy in stores second it’s on PS2 not PS4 PS5 Xbox series X Nintendo Switch so you’ll need to go on PS2 that console wasn’t the best for dragon ball z games

I actually got all the capsules in this game recently amd its not that hard tbh, just have the "WE GOTTA POWER" skill maxxed out, do the Z difficulty fighters road, get an S rank, and you'll consistently get between 100k to 200k in zeni. However i didnt even know there were more maps available in fighters road so i guess that's something i can do soon
Yeah, I used that skill in Budokai 3 I believe - definitely a game changer! & yes, there’s at least 4 maps. I can only imagine they get much more difficult
