When I starting using Waves InPhase years ago it completely changed my life. I did do phase adjustments manually before but it took more time. A phase alignment tool is the first step always.

Great as always! The biggest thing I’ve noticed about pro mixers is phase is always the most important thing

I'm using Aligner from Nugen Audio or optimize phase and polarity in Harrison Mixbus, which is quite cheap and great for mixing. Auto-Align looks great but is quite expensive.

I always use the track delay function from Studio One to line out the drum kit, it takes a minute or 2, but that works fine

Can you describe your process?

@@chaddonal4331 When you open the track Inspector page on the left side of the arrange window, the 6th option from the top is 'Delay' (in ms), you can use this function to move your track forwards and backwards. When you set the Time base (in the middle of the Arrange window's top bar) to seconds and zoom in on your track, you look for a clear kick hit in your overhead track, for example, and with the selection option from your mouse (on the upper half of the track, the standard pointer changes to a cross) you click on the start of the kick hit on the overhead track and drag the mouse to the start of the corresponding hit on the kick track (to make this easy, you can hide tracks in between, so the overhead and kick tracks are close to eachother). As long as you hold the mouse button down, a white box is shown next to the mouse pointer, that tells you the time distance of the selected area in ms and that is the number you want to set for the Delay in the Inspector page for the kick track.

Hey, Marcus. First of all a great tutorial on phasing issues. My question is do drum plugins like EZ drummer 3 need to correct the phase using Auto Align? Thanks man!
