Forgot to mention the Blais/Buchnevich trade. Blais only played 14 games for the Rangers before getting injured so there isn’t too much to say on that anyways, but I should’ve mentioned it. My bad.

When you draft a franchise goalie in the 5th round of a draft 2 years prior to rebuilding, things are going to go pretty well.

I gotta say that Reaves plays a big role in this team. Last year rangers were not so good. The rangers acquiring reaves gave all the players confidence and many teams do not want to mess with him. I went to the game at buffalo on 12/10 and he did fantastic all of his shifts.

Especially the McDonagh + Miller disaster. For a bag of pucks. Howden, Hajek , Namesnikov and 2 draft picks, that luckily worked out ok but that is random. Imagine if we had them now?

Incredible video you made this Ranger fan very happy, and when we got Strome in 2018 I was jumping for joy when we only gave up spooner it shocks me how little people had faith in Strome when he came over but I am happy that he has been amazing and is really blossoming into a top line center on this team

Good video, the rebuild is more based on luck than anything. Because of the lottery and their location they were gifted... 1st overall pick 2nd overall pick Elite Winger Norris Dman Top 4 Dman Not to discredit some of the moves they've made like the Zibanejad trade, Strome trade, Shesterkin pick, etc. Those are legit. Just lucky as hell at the same time.

Let's not give Gorton and Sather too much credit for the "rebuild". Most of the talent they have had little to do with this rebuild. I'll give them full credit for "stealing" Mika Zibanejad for Derick Brassard, but that was before the "rebuild". They did best during the "rebuild" (in quotes because it was a salary dump more than a rebuild) unloading Rick Nash. Nash had been good or great in NY, but concussions had done him in. That trade got them Spooner, who got them Strome. Other than that, it's hard to point to much good that came from giving away McDonagh and Girardi or JT Miller. They got better overnight when they spent a ton of money to bring Artemi Panarin to NY, but given that NY was one of only three cities he was willing to play in, let's not call that a "coupe". They got lucky with ping pong balls in a popcorn machine twice. They got even luckier when Adam Fox told the Canes he was determined to play in NY. Now, let's talk about the BAD MOVES because they are historically bad. ONe, they hired a smug asshole from Boston University who one by one alienated just about every player on the team, and they didn't fire him after two years. They let Panarin's and Zibanejad's play in that season blind them to how awful Quinn was. The even let Quinn wage one of his idiotic power plays against Tony DeAngelo, leading to a locker-room fight and, instead of downplaying it like everyone else in sports history has always done with such things, they made DeAngelo the bad guy. Now, he's a better version of Dougie Hamilton for the Canes at a fraction of the price. He's at least a top 5 offensive defensman, and he's actually a good teammate, not a bad one. Then, there was the Buchnevich trade. I'm tempted to go easy on them for it because Blais mght turn out to be a good acquisition, but when they found themselves without a RW to play with Mika and Kreider, it's hard to like that move. Finally, they were arrogant and stupid enough to think they could send Kravtsov to Hartford AGAIN. He balked at it the first time they tried that. He was never going there, and they should have known it.

I’m a huge Ranger fan. But I still think they are too inconsistent when they lose to teams like Columbus. They have played well early in games only to give up many unanswered goals and several losses. They will make the playoffs for sure but may not make it past the second round.

Overrated

I really don't like NYR too much but after watching a few of their home feeds; they are impressive. Kreider is an animal and Fox is great, too. Trouba has moments of brilliance. What the hell happened to Mika Zibenijad? He used to be top-tier from what I saw in games against the Capitals. I saw them live at Capital One and he was incredible. For awhile now; I can't remember the last time I've heard Zibenijads name during a game. Rangers have two great goalies, as well. Hopefully we see them in the playoffs soon. They might make it interesting..

Imagine how even better they would be if they had Tony DeAngelo instead of K-Andre Miller with Trouba. Instead they bowed down to the BLM supporter Miller and got rid of the Trump supporting DeAngelo who is having a great year. Now we have a crappy defenseman instead of a good one.
