"incel music" is just more "sensitive" or "arty" music that jocks don't listen to in his definition. So the thing that makes something "incel" is most anything that would make music interesting to me... like emotions other than aggression. I feel like in the 90s there was more crossover between the music the art kids and the jocks listened to, then it went super tribal with the jock buttrock / generic heavy music fan vs art-school hipster indie fan. The early grunge ere was nicely in the middle. I think the actual incels are more people who like the more "masculine" music but aren't actually masculine. Like modern 20-somethings who just play video games and don't care about health or appearances at all. You can criticize 2000s metro-sexuals for being annoying and pretentious sometimes, but most did get married because there's more to male attractiveness than being "chad".

I’ve seen some pretty cringe posts in the Facebook group from fans claiming they’re single because they’re a DT fan. They’re really just scaring women off because they feel like it’s super important that they make them a new fan on the first date. anecdotally i cant argue with this stereotype lol. I got into megadeth when i was like 13 in 2007, it pretty much introduced me to non-radio metal. 15 years later and I cant remember the last time i listened to them. But my dad is 55 and still loves his thrash lol.

Megadeth has that fanbase because they haven’t done anything cool since Marty Friedman left. It’s either just angry kids who stumbled on their music by accident or the old core fans from the 80’s. Dave Mustaine himself has some massive incel vibes.
