Even though most cars are getting an upgrade for their 2023 models, the Subaru Forester is different. Subaru has decided that the only difference is mainly in the pricing, which is a difference of about $550 compared to the previous versions. Yes, there are some minor changes, but nothing super major. However, the 2023 Subaru Forester is still one of the best SUVs available. After all, it has been there for a while now. So, that begs the question. What minor changes are there? Let’s find out, shall we?
Hello everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we will look at the 2023 Subaru Forester. Before we continue, make sure you give this video a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favorite cars. And with that, let’s look at the 2023 Subaru Forester.
The 2023 Subaru Forester does not really have any notable upgrades. However, the only thing it was granted was an extreme makeover last year. And for the next year, the only thing it is getting is a slight bump in the price tag.
The Subaru Forester is one of the few all-rounded small SUVs that shines both on and off the roads. This two-row SUV from Subaru has passed all the tests possible. Not only that, but it also comes with some impressive off-roading capabilities. It may be humble, but it is definitely powerful.
However, when it comes to the 2023 model, there are not many changes to this capable SUV. The Forester continues to be a well-balanced pick, standing out among its competitors, which include the Mazda CX-50, the Honda CR-V, the Kia Sportage, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
Nothing has been added or removed in any of the six trim levels of the Subaru Forester. This even applies to the various optional packages that come with them. The performance is very mature and sensible, but the flat-four engine has enough grunt to put a smile on the driver’s face when it is taken off the road.
The 2023 Subaru Forester still remains a driver’s car, and the dynamics are livelier than ever. If you prefer going off-road more, then the best option for you is the Forester Wilderness. But in addition to that, there are five other trim levels. Either way, if you are looking for an affordable option in the small SUV space, then the 2023 Forester is still your best option.
One thing about the 2023 Subaru Forester is that it still packs a tried-and-tested flat-four engine. Subaru remains to be the only automaker that packs a flat-four in bread-and-butter offerings. The 2023 Subaru Forester is still powered by a well-versed 2.5-liter flat-four engine that gives it about 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque.
The Forester is quite strong, given that it can tow up to 1,500 pounds. The Wilderness trim is more powerful, towing double what the other trims can. This means that the Wilderness trim can tow about 3,000 pounds comfortably. However, even though his trim is not the most spirited, the Forester has enough low-end grunts to put a smile on your face.
Subaru has ensured that the 2023 Forester is highly capable of going off-road. The 2023 Forester is an SUV with a much more dynamic and plated character on the tarmac.
So far, we have seen that the 2023 Subaru Forester is no different from the previous model. But what about the MPG figures and driving range? Well, the 2023 Forester still remains to be a very efficient all-rounder. Given that there are no tweaks on the powertrain front, the MPG figures are unchanged from last year. Considering the all-wheel-drive layout and the athletic engine, the 2023 Forester can give you a combined 29 MPG, which is about 26 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
The interior of the 2023 Subaru Forester is rugged and full of technology. Subaru made sure that the 2023 model maintained its clever interior. It still has the same rugged style, and it packs the latest technological features there are.
As much as the 2023 Subaru Forester gives off a lot of power, Subaru has also ensured that it has some clever safety features. The Forester was lauded for packing a commendable safety suite with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. And with that, the 2023 model of the Forester continues to pack some of the most impressive safety features.
Subaru has not really changed anything with the 2023 Forester unless they fix a few things. The only thing they have changed is the pricing, which costs an extra $1200 to $1300 compared to the 2022 model. However, this is understandable, given that the car was given a major upgrade for its 2022 model. Therefore, there is nothing new at all with the 2023 model.
What do you think of the 2023 Subaru Forester? Feel free to let us know in the comments section below. Also, make sure you give this video a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favorite cars.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!

Drove a Legacy that was a company fleet vehicle for years. After retirement, I test drove over a dozen different SUVs, looking to buy new. The Forester was the last one I test drove. It felt so familiar, and I was astounded that it was so comfortable to drive. I bought a Premium. I'm getting about 34 mpg's on long highway trips. I can't believe how much power is available in this engine when cruising at 65 mph with the tachometer at around 1500. There is great visibility & plenty of cargo space and room in the rear seat. And the tech is anything but overwhelming. I really could have opted for any trim, I felt that this was the practical choice. Couldn't be happier than I am driving this Subaru. And I'm not gay and not quite yet a senior.

I do wildlife photography, and got the 22 Forester Premium in January, and it's perfect off and on road. well, except that X-Mode makes driving in deep snow boring. I used to love my drift practice! For those that like power, sport mode has plenty of "get on it" thrill. The windows are huge and great for spotting, its extremely comfortable, just a good all around SUV. The Mazda CX-50 is not in the same segment the Mazda CX-5 IS. The forester is good but they need to go away from that horrible CVT transmission and go to a proper torque converter gearbox and make it 8 speed. Also the 2.4litre turbo engine needs to be added.
@Doc1855
@Doc1855 Год назад
I hate to burst your bubble, but the 2.5 naturally aspirated 182hp engine is GUTLESS and the CVT robs the engine on power and torque even more. Our Outback is sluggish at best and seldom gets 30 mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75. Just look at how slow all non turbo Subaru’s are. I have a Rav 4WD Limited with a 3.5 V6 with 269 hp. It’s quicker than the Subaru turbo and gets 26mpg. My Rav also has a 5spd geared automatic transmission. We have also found that though Subaru’s will last as long as a Toyota, they require more maintenance and tend not to be as reliable as a Toyota.

I just bought a 2023 Forester Wilderness. I'm so glad that I didn't let comments about CVT engine stop me from making my purchase. This vehicle takes off like a rocket compared to the Jeep Compass that was totaled last year. I took it on washboard dirt roads and hairpin curves, leaving me blown away by the smooth drive ...that also was remarkably different from the Jeep Compass. No power issues at all, but then again, I've never driven a Ferrari so what do I know.😂

I got the 22 Forester Wilderness in January. After 6 K miles, I have gotten 36 mpg "actual" (the computer recorded 38 mpg). I always divide the miles I drive by the gallons needed to fill up the tank. It depends on how you drive the car; I just follow the speed limit in the Houston metro area, so it is a combined city/highway mpg rating.

FAIL! If they made it towable behind an RV, not only would it stand out among the competition, but I would buy it. They would stand out as no other foreign manufacturer approves their cars for 4 wheels down towing behind an RV, and in fact explicitly state not to. Sadly, in the same class as the Forester, approved vehicles are limited to Chevy Equinox and Ford Escape Hybrid (FWD and AWD versions of both) and for more aggressive off-road, the Jeep Wrangler and certain 4WD versions of the Cherokee and must have the low disconnect on any Jeep to qualify and FWD or basic AWD on any Jeep doesn't qualify.

@larrygray1557
@larrygray1557 Год назад
@@danielfair4675 Not simple at all as you just created to difficult problems with your solution. There are several reason you don't see RV's on the road pulling trailers with cars, and rarely dollies. 1) Where are you going to store the "third vehicle" at campsites designed for 2 vehicles at the most? And 2) The weight of the trailer (or dolly) becomes part of the GCWR maximum for the RV chassis and the hitch weight becomes GVWR (RV loading limits) where you or passengers may not be able to get in without making it overweight.
@captainkangaroo4301
@captainkangaroo4301 Год назад
@@larrygray1557 the main reason you don’t see RV’s pulling more trailers is the drivers inability to back it up. They damn near need a 911 type number for the idiots who can’t figure out how to back up an RV with a trailer.
