don't think these kinds of -metal bars - can be used for anything further. maybe cut into smaller bars. And then used as a ballast or the likes. since it is no clean metal. or aluminium, copper or the likes. - open hearth furnace, - some of the oldest and most primitive furnaces. but for the product they make, and there must be a demand, otherwise they would not make them? Safety enforcement, air pollution, smoke pollution, all non existence. Suppose al these not doing them are reasons why they can produce what they are producing?

Have seen this myself , went to a brass foundry in Deli many years ago, they throw any old rubbish in the melting pot, hence the finished casting has porosity

Strange to see...no safety at any stage. The scrape is just put in carts without being checked whether it is steel, alloy, aluminum, plastic just collected and poured in furnace...what type of steel is manufactured with how much carbon %age?

I really hope they get some better quality management. To even think of this potpourri blend they tossed into the crucible as "steel" just boggles the mind! They definitely need to have a covalence magnet sorting the metals out instead of just throwing it all into one giant melting pot. It's like a lucky dip, except the buyer will be lucky if he gets a quality iron product out of any of it!⁉❓❔

Estas personas trabajan en una fundición de hierro con el horno a ras de suelo, vertiendo los desechos a mano, en sandalias, sin ropa ni equipamiento apropiado, realmente las distancias entre países desarrollados y todos los demás es abismal y una pregunta ¿Alguien sabe que es ruido como de un silbato que se escucha constantemente? Me queda la duda si esto esta dentro de las normas de seguridad del país (me parece la India, pero no estoy seguro) o es algo no regulado o ilegal, realmente impactante para mi.

It's all come full circle, hasn't it ? The steel made here fails so often, there are dozens of other channels dedicated to fixing those things that break. When they can't be fixed anymore, they wind up back here.

Sort of impressive, but not really. I mean, seems interesting that so much scrap is reused for...something, but for what actually? From what I see the scrap is almost random metals mixed together (those seem to be refrigerators compressors?) and the resulting ingots are made of...what is that?
