Pandora: The World of Avatar is… amazing. It’s not just a land that’s incredibly well-themed, but aims to really impress and “wow” its audience through atmosphere. I know that I’ve offered quite a bit of criticism of the leadership of Bob Iger and Bob Chapek, ultimately concluding that their additions to the parks have been at best, mediocre. At worst, insulting. But why is Pandora the exception to this rule? I’ve seen a lot of people criticize Flight of Passage as a Soarin’ clone, but I don’t agree. There’s also the consensus that Na'vi River Journey might leave you feeling a bit… unsatisfied. I would agree, but it’s not for a lack of effort. So today, we’re going to be breaking down what I feel is easily the best addition to the Disney parks over the last few decades, and why it works when so many other Disney additions have not.
