Guillermo Del Toro would be better. And also he's a huge fan of the Haunted Mansion as well so guarantee that he likes Phantom Manor too.

@@joebenzz he would be a dream! But because I know he is a huge fan I wasn’t sure he would take on Phantom Manor. Although the story would be a great fit for him. Even better then Haunted Mansion’s.

@@YaraBoussaadia In the movie Crimson Peak, he put alot of Haunted Mansion references like wallpaper etc. He also put Phantom Manor in it as a doll house in the beginning of the movie. You can see the dark outline of it in the background of the girl's bedroom.

I feel like the worst changes were putting the phantom behind Melanie in the hallways and right behind her in the ballroom. I prefer the mystery of the phantom stalking her without being seen. I also miss the old stretching room portraits as well

The Refurbishement of our Phantom Manor 🟦⬜🟥🇨🇵 was necessary. At least, we kept Vincent Price voice as the Phantom. In the Old version, we barely see what's inside.

Fun fact : Did you know the Whole Frontierland is connected with Phantom Manor.

​​​@@the____doctor6704she originally only had one suitor and couldn't get over his death, so she kept searching for him until she grows old and during the thunder mesa resurrection scene, she decides to sacrifice herself to protect the guests from the phantom. The 2019 refurb really watered down the story of the ride by turning her into another constance hatchaway

This ☝🏾. It even screws up her story because it makes her timeline hard to discern and leaves more questions than it answers. Having her speak creepily at the end of the ride instead of hitchhiker's ghosts was the biggest character assassination.

And did anyone else noticed they removed the decayed Phantom? Dude, not cool, that was the creepiest animatronic there.

Disneyland Paris for a week affordable? Well, in that case you should return and do Efteling, Phantasialand, Europa Park, Parc Asterix and Puy du Fou for about the same money.

I am like minded. I love everything about Phantom Manor. The music is gorgeous and you feel like you are invited to a never ending party when you ride it. Dull, never

​@@baltimoregunclub9772 I feel that Discoveryland in particular, whilst beautiful, feels quite small, and I wish that the park had more of the quirky attractions that the other parks have, like Country Bear Jamboree and The Enchanted Tiki Room. On the whole, I feel like DLP has one or two popular rides per area and not much in between.

J'étais CM à ce moment là également... Et quelle déception ! L'audio original massacré, les nouveaux dialogues aux ficelles narratives énormes. C'était d'une tristesse ! La version de 92 faisait bien plus dans la subtilité...

For those who don't speak French, yes, the old version could be kind of a bad experience. BUT, there was one thing that made the 92 version superior. The music ! Think about it : Phantom Manor has been concieved to create an atmosphere, and to tell a Story, to Guests who don't necessarly speak French, or English. In the new version, the stretch room score doesn't have enough time anymore to get as strong and impressive as it was in the 1st version, since Phantom's bilingual monologue takes much more time. In the piano scene, the continuity of the score gets broken, to put the new nuptial music. After Leota's scene, we get though a dark corridor. Here, there used to be a version of the score, with chorus, which made the arrival of the balroom scene much more dramatic... In the balroom, the music is played with a much lower volume. All those changes are making the music much less communicative. An attraction is like a movie. It's better to show, than to tell. Phantom Manor 1.0 used to show. The new version is like a Marvel movie, it tells...

@@martinb2251 it's all about preferences in the end. :) I loved both versions but prefer the most recent one and I do agree with you when we arrive to the ride the music before was way more dramatic and that's the only thing I miss from the old one. Except that, I like this one better, but it's Disney, it'll be good either way. haha

I live by the o.g., and have enjoyed it many times, also Florida's (my fave and the inspiration for Tokyo!!) once so far!

It'd probably work better as a movie than original Haunted Mansion for sure!

I am surprised to hear this, because I remember this park was in huge financial trouble and had hardly any visitors. I think at one point it was even in danger of shutting down. I just thought it was probably second rate?

@@gojewla You are right, and wrong. Indeed there was and are many problems. Climate and culture are main reasons for the unsatisfying numbers, and how advertising addressed US people, not Europeans. But the theming is incredibly coherent and immersive. I suggest offhand disney, very good channel. I only know the Anaheim park as comparison tho.

That's a reference to Big Thunder Mountain. The Phantom (Henry Ravenswood) owned the Big Thunder Mine Company.

@@Mark0612 they really put it in a lot of effort, I wish I’d known the storyline better before riding, it’s so much better than I realised.

They've screwed pirates of the Caribbean there too , and I don't mean by adding Sparrow and my beloved Barbossa

The same person in charge of the 2018 project ruined the nautilus recently and is probably gonna be put in charge of the rumored space mountain rework
