Edna is my favorite character, she has the ideal balance of sass and genuinely caring about others. It's a shame that her voice actress here in Brazil passed away.
The way people talked about Mr Incredible being a bad husband when this movie came out was SO weird. He didn't do anything wrong and he gave his all to looking after the kids! At worst, he was blatantly jealous in that phone call scene, but he's allowed to be!
Well, that bad husband claim is unfair. He's not bad, he's just in an unfamiliar situation, from full time worker to house-husband AND caretaker to three. Anyone would find it hard to adjust.
Not to mention he was just in the limelight being able to be super again like a month prior to this movie. It's understandable there'd be an adjustment and he'd be kinda jealous when his wife is picked to do the hero work, but despite that he never has himself wishing she'd fail or lets it cause a rift between them
I mean he was being super jealous instead of being happy for his wife (that’s kinda toxic), and apparently had no idea how to dad. Which…. being in the 1950s (60s? 70s? Idk???) that makes sense, and him overcoming his issues is commendable. But honestly the Incredibles did not need a sequel, and despite great animation this movie is a C leaning towards a D compared to the first’s A+. I bet, had Bird been given the option and had more time to develop a better idea for a sequel, we could have had something great.
To be fair, Helen was established to be able to fly stuff in the first movie, though she flew a jet instead of a helicopter, but I bet she could fly a chopper too honestly. Woman can literally do _anything_ she wants and we are here for it.
1:53 I can't believe the reason this movie has such a stupid villain is because Disney forced them to rush Incredibles 2 make room for Toy Story 4 because both of those movies switched release dates AND TOY STORY 4 DOES NOT NEED TO EXIST BECAUSE TOY STORY 3 HAD SUCH A PERFECT ENDING!
8:09 there is a scene from Incredibles 1 where she asks “your not listening to the police scanner again” it was when he came back home from the burning building.
There's also the scene where Frozone and Mr incredible literally sit in the car and listen to a police scanner. Thats what leads them to the burning building and the "I know, I know Freeze" scene.
@@Natd0gsef Not to mention all the talented animators these days. 3D animation is something you can literally legally learn and practice for free now, which is bloody beautiful.
In general this movie had banger after banger of hero scenes. Not just with Elastigirl, but with basically every hero character, the fight scene between Violet and Void goes hard. It's refreshing after the first movie was like 75% Mr. Incredible hero stuff.
There's a deleted restaurant scene where robbers hold everyone hostage, and Violet has to take off her clothes to stay invisible. I REALLY wish I was joking.
15:02 I'm not photosensitive fortunately but I do have epilepsy, and I remember watching this scene in theaters (BEFORE the nerf) and it baffled me that there were NO WARNINGS for this.
You know what, if Mike Ehrmentraut WAS the villain, it would have been BRILLIANT. Imagine: "Well, if superheroism were made legal again, I'd be out of a job. So..."
Watched this movie in theaters had such a good time even though Screenslaver was a huge letdown. Such a shame for a villain with a cool name and design to go basically nowhere. Also Winston should have been kept as a bad guy in the morally grey area where he uses his own sense of twisted justice to show the world heroes are still needed and as the Screenslaver he uses any means necessary to do so. But that's just me.
I liked the concept with screenslaver and I even liked the twist but what I hated was that she basically was trash without the screen stuff that was a let down.
12:33 bruh she could pilot that commercial plane that someone lent her in the first movie, I wouldn't doubt she'd be trained on Helis too. Someone needs to release Elastigirl's backstory. She's gotta be like a former Airforce pilot or something. Backstory probably goes NUTS
I think it is heavily implied that the supers are essentially a government program i.e they got their powers from the government and given the fact they were active in the 1940s, yeah, she is probably a very high level CIA or air force spy I base this on the fact that the way both mr.incredible and elastigirl infiltrate syndrome's island lair, they very clearly have espionage training. So imagine some James Bond type adventures, which version? well I haven't watched a single james bond thing so go ahead and pick one😅
I saw an edit shipping Evelyn Deavor and the chick from Megamind. And they were villains who teamed up to kill Elsa. Kept seeing people say they were the same woman in different font.
“They should’ve have just replaced the beginning of this movie with a full long play of Rise of the Underminer.” Thank You! That was the movie’s first mistake.
Criticism was heavy on this film when it came out, but it's a good film. However, with the first film being considered one of the best animated films of all time, it was impossible to meet the expectations that the public had accumulated for more than a decade.
No it isn't, this movie is God awful. The story is worst, it's treatment of the characters we love is abysmal and the villain is so dumb that you can see the twist coming a mile away.
It’s funny, the day after I watched it I said it was my favorite Pixar movie. The first Incredibles came out the year I was born and I always felt like the first one wasn’t long enough, so this movie was… special.
I’m being so serious. No one in their right mind would get that from just watching the movie. Everyone was acting like they saw the twist a mile away from her name and I seriously don’t believe it.
@@runningsandwich yeah, Evelyn was an obvious twist villain, but I refuse to believe that people got that from her name. And what about Winston? I don’t even remember anyone calling him (Winn) and this guys also trying to connect it with the phrase Win+Endeavor which no one would get if they heard it out loud. And no character would ever say!
A sequel story should have focused on Violet and or Dash growing up, or on Helen working with her fellow heroes as they sought to return to public life, or... Freaking SOMETHING because this villain just has nothing going on. It's weird that it feels like so little actually happened in this film.
Aside from the villain being bland, the worst thing about the movie is Mr. Incredible’s jealousy towards his wife. He was so desperate to fight crime that he got jealous that his wife got a crime fighting opportunity instead of him. He had to take care of the kids; which caused him to have a mental breakdown midway through the film.
The movie isn't that great but I thought that part was pretty realistic. Like imagine a dad being the sole breadwinner of family for years but suddenly loses his job to his wife and he is stuck at home all day. I'm sure he is happy for her, but that isn't a situation where people can stay too positive.
@@sarwatarannya8786 The thing is you gotta remember like just a month ago in-canon Bob overcame his mid-life crisis and was no longer a mere pencil pusher...only to now just sit on the sidelines while his wife took care of things. Think about it after going through the emotional journey he went through realizing he didn't just wanna abandon his current life but wanted to be Super WITH his family, refusing to ever leave them again...he had to part with his wife while she got to be super and him and the kids didn't. Yet even with how aggrivating it was loves his family and is actively wanting to be a part of their lives, he's trying to help Violet with her boy troubles, he's doing what he can to raise Jack-Jack despite being exhausted, and not wanting to cause issues for Helen or the public. Incredibles II gets a lot of unwarranted shit like yes plotwise it's not as clever as the first one, most likely because Disney rushed production. But Bob NEVER was someone who hated his wife's success, he was dealing with a lot of intense emotions and new changes, and in the end of the movie he comes to be a good father who respects what Helen does far more than before, and the family as a whole grows even closer together. It's a powerful message that sadly is lost because of shallow analysis.
@@TECH097 Yeah! I do agree that the villain was way more lackluster this time around, but I really liked that the film made the distinction that even though Bob was very much jealous of the fact that Helen got to be a superhero again, he never wants her to fail or lets that create drama between them, and is in fact self-aware that he probably shouldn't feel that way. Like, it would've been really easy to go the lazy route and make Bob's jealousy of Helen create drama or tension in the family, but they didn't and I really appreciate that choice.
I thought the worst thing about the movie was that they had no idea what they were doing with the end of the first movie and the start of the second movie not making any sense at all.
8:02 Actually, she did know about the police scanners. Remember how in the original, in the scene where Bob comes home late, she said, "Don't tell me you've been listening to the police scanner again." So she did know. Sorry to be a know it all.
8:13 There’s a moment in the first movie when Bob and Helen are arguing and she says “tell me you haven’t been listening to the police scanner again” implying that she’s caught him doing it in the past. So she very clearly knew about it. This is most definitely not a retcon
0:34 Um for the Disney castles. Beauty and the Beast had one, The one in the Live Action Mulan movie had a custom background and castle. Also a Wrinkle in Time had a special glitching effect to it. Just wanted to help a bit
11:12 love that an example of 'the best father he can possibly be' is Doofenschmirtz, that man is a _great_ father Also the police scanner thing was ya know.. an actual scene in the first film😂
I remember watching this movie for the first time in the theater with my friend, and we both absolutely lost our shit out loud in the theater when Helen used the flare and Evelyn flew out the window... I still find that scene so funny- it's so abrupt and wonderful.
5:38 this is one of the worst things Disney did to Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2 they just completely changed the main characters character traits and make them complete unlikable assholes. 1. In Toy Story 4 Woody decided to leave Bonnie and fulfill a life with Bo Peep WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL HIS LOYALTY DOES HE NOT CARE ABOUT HIS KID ANYMORE!? 2. In this movie they made Bob kind of an idiot and he's not even happy for his wife.
Edna mode for own movie that has her exploring to make more advanced suits now that supers can come out of hiding, plot twist is one of the superheroes she makes a really powerful suit for is actually evil and right when the person is about to do something catastrophic she activates a failsafe to shut down the suit permanently and every suit she has made has one just in case someone ever decides to switch sides.
15:18 yooo, a clip from Primal. Your editors put in some elite clips from shows I like. I remember they used a daredevil clip, specifically the hall way fight scene from episode 2 a while back
13:30 I can't believe you guys didn't think the old man superhero looked like Mermaid Man from Spongebob. That was my first thought and I thought you guys of all people would pick up on the same vibes straight away 😂
SO the point of the grey scale and the oversaturation at 11:00 is a film design choice. Its to represent how Bob is having a very dull and boring life. and how Helen Parr is having an amazing fun vibrant life
Bro I remember watching this movie in theaters, and when elastigirl confronted screenslaver and the room had the glitchy effect. I HAD TO BLINK MY EYES ALTERNATING WITH THE EFFECT OR I WAS GONNA GO BLIND. glad they recalled that later-
12:17 in their defense there was a warning, at least at the movie theatre I went to (and I think I watched it pretty soon after it came into theatres but I don't really remember). Idk if the flashing lights were worth the risk tho.
15:12 I don’t have epilepsy but I have autism and I remember that room flashing scene I had a anxiety attack and started crying I had to leave the theater for a bit until I was fine again
@@soggywater8basically, the Brain isn’t able to process certain things , kind of imagine yourself in a situation were you can’t comprehend what’s in front of you or you don’t know how to rationalize or figure out something you would normally be able to in other circumstances. So there’s nothing but your emotions that can really do anything
