Dude, I absolutely love your review videos. They’re humorous, hilarious AF! insightful, and straight to the point, all with an accent. You could literally be reviewing a grain of salt and I’d tune in. 😂😂😂
I have the non shield versions of the Samsung T7. I have both the standard and touch versions, both 1TB. The drives comes with two cables - USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C in the box. I use mine as backup with my Samsung Galaxy S20FE 5G and other devices. This means less reliant on having microSD as expandable storage. It is worth getting any of these drives. I got mine on discount offers from Argos and Currys. Good review.
@@naumanmirza7 Since my post last year, I have added a 2 TB T7 Shield (not yet used), another 1TB T7, both as spares. The T7 Touch is slightly better because the fingerprint is quicker access than password. Here in the UK, there are good deals at various times from the stores. That's when I get them. Also cheaper and safer than buying online from a small seller, who may have fakes! Oh yes, my phone is the S23 Ultra, and it has been great.
@@naumanmirza7 T7 Touch for slightly faster access, T7 Shield if you need protection from impacts. If you don't need either, the standard T7 is fine, and the bigger the storage the better.
I'm looking to pick this up, I love the beige more than the blue one but I'm quite concerned with how well it holds up as it ages. Is there anyone who has gotten the beige?, How is it holding up with aging and dirt with regard to it's colour?

u should have pushed the durability of the shield to extremes.. drop it on a concrete floor, drive a car over it etc.. it makes for an interesting video and if the drive survived any of these, it would be impressive marketing for Samsung as well
Just picked this up on sale for my video production . I have a 1 tb ssd in my pc & it just is not enough space for up-scaling movies to 8k. I have an up-scaling program that up-scales video footage up to & including 8K resolution which produces video files of over a tb(if they are over about 1 hour and a half). This ssd will be perfect for temporarily holding large size up-scaled video files until I convert them to another format that produces videos with no quality loss at a fraction of the size. The ssd will definitely come in handy when I upscale to 12k also.
I was wondering how you deal with all your shot material, hopping between an endless stream of different new phones + A-role & B-role material. Also what do you edit on? How about gaming content? Do you use whatever the phone itself comes with, or a specific App?
I might grab one for my Xbox one S 😅, it needs that storage (new patch of space for the games I'm going to play in future) until I get the Xbox series S.
Can you please share the details about the LifeSpan or Endurance Level of Samsung T7 Shield SSDs? I want to buy for me personal use. Youe opinion matters.
@@Vendzor It's great and the finger print sensor works 100% for me. Transfer speeds are incredibly fast. Well worth getting and I wouldn't hesitate in getting another one with larger storage if I ever needed the increased capacity. 👍🏻
@@PeterHughes We live in a great era for tech like this, and it's only gonna get better. I love archiving random stuff like RU-vid videos, but the gigabytes add up quick. 5,000+ liked videos plus playlists, all in full quality. Can't be too careful these days man, only a matter of time before the uploader or RU-vid removes the video forever. So much golden content on this platform that needs to be archived.
Using now for almost a year, and I’m having issues. The drive slows down sometimes to where I have to run a first aid on it then it works fine again. Not sure why
Thank-you for the review. You said that we have to use encryption on the drive, and use a Samsung programme to access it. Which means the disc drive won't decrypt on ios, Android phones, or with my TV. As soon as they make us use encrption on all these drives, the drives turn into book stops. Glad I didn't buy this.
Thanks for the upload. I got mine on the sale recently, just wanted an SSD with capacity. But this one over exceeds my expectations. Will get another next sale. And the transfers speed from pc and the to iPad I just the best I ever experienced. But I can’t get my head around the file format that fits both LG oled to and the ipad. Any suggestions?
Liked and subbed just for the “Just make sure you don’t forget whatever password you pick. Otherwise, if you do, the drive will be about as useful as James Corden” comment. 😂😂😂
Thanks for the review. Does this "Shielded T7" gets more or less hot than "Regular/Non-Shielded T7"? That "Shield" concerns me that may be the device can get even hotter with that extra plastic cover over the SSD 🤔
Mine got so hot that it overheated and failed. I need to get it replaced by Samsung. The ssd is totally dysfunctional after reaching temperatures that were uncomfortably hot to the touch
Nah, the black friday deals right now on this are amazing! I picked up the 2 TB T7 Shield on Best Buy for USD 150! I don't have any active/outdoors use-case for this. I will be using it for general purpose storage of photos, videos and docs :)
I am in despair. On the front 10 Gbit USB C port of the PS5, the T7 Shield only reaches 80 mb/sec for me. I just don't understand it. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
I got usb 3.2 gen 1 slots on my pc but this drive only writes for me at 330mb/sec, shouldn't it be quicker then that? I know its not gen 2 to reach that max speed of 1000 but 330 seems a bit low?
I don't know what is wrong with you! ... Not only did he mention "compatible with Mac" ..he even uses it in the video! ... Can't you just watch the video to the end and THEN ask your stupid questions? And even if he didn't say/show anything about mac; WHY the fuck would even an Apple computer not recognize external storage?! ...Your question is on every level just stupid! What is the matter with people like you?! Damn...
