While travelling on the Trans-Siberian railway we fell in love with long distance train travel. So we were absolutely ecstatic when we were invited to travel on The Indian Pacific from Adelaide to Sydney. Not only do we get to experience a world class train journey but we get to see our much loved Australian outback from a whole new perspective.

Trains are so better way to travel than Planes..obviously to reach faster or foreign countries flights are the only option but honestly if there were no Oceans I would love to take a Month long journey from Australia to USA on train lolz.

Trains can definitely be more about taking a journey than just a form of transport. They always seem to be so much more memorable than flying for some reason 😁

Hey guys 😀 so nice to see another vlog, feels like it's been ages! We have always wanted to go onabord the Indian Pacific, what an amazing journey! I Ihink as Aussies we tend to take our own backyard for granted! Ed and I were just saying we need to do some more exploring of Australia when we get home! Can't wait to see the rest of the vlogs 😀

Nice to see the Indian Pacific . . Years ago I moved to Perth from Sydney with my daughter who flew .. I took the train 🚞 ( there was a train strike so had to start in Sydney premium ) with my Mini Cooper car 🚗 on the back of the train : At Melbourne my little car was moved onto another sleeper that took me onwards the next day to Adelaide were my car was once more moved onto the Indian Pacific. Took 4 days I’m total , crossing the Nulabar (3 days & nights ) Silver sévis for each delicious meal . A piano 🎹 in the Club lounge . One double bed did me ... I read my favourite books in this monumental fabulous journey and loved every moment. I’m now in London & travel to Paris in the Eurostar .. less than two hours .. Incredible: Thanks for the post .. 🤗

Wow that sounds like a fantastic memory 😀 Arriving by train would be a great way to start a new chapter in a different city. Europe has some incredible train journeys, we would love to do some more.

That red desert dust is apparently really hard to get out of cars! No haven’t been on the Eurostar but we would love to one day. So many great train journeys to do around the world. Take care too 😀❤️

Very nice, hope to take the trip someday. The best train ride in the world is Via Rail's Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. The scenery is the best in the Canadian Rockies, and the food is fantastic. The icing on the cake is the train itself. It has dome cars which provide a 360 degree view. No other train in the world has this.

0:34 The car in Australia is driven by a passenger because the steering wheel is on the right... The driver does not have to do anything... Sometimes you see: a passenger goes without a driver! :D

One of these days I'm going to Australia for at least once in my life. I got an old Aussie musician friend in Brisbane that's really been pressing on me to come. The drag show is not for me, but Australia has always had a great music scene. I'd really like to ride the train from Sydney to Brisbane, or even start from the butt bottom in Melbourne, Victoria. Got another old friend there from my younger heavy metal days.
@AprilandTimTravel
@AprilandTimTravel 4 года назад
Do it!! 😁 Australia does have a pretty awesome and diverse music scene. There are some fantastic music and arts festivals too all year round. There is plenty to see in the larger cities, but getting out into the outback or the rainforests of Far North Queensland or Tasmania are fantastic if nature is your thing too. Definitely come for a trip if you get the opportunity, you won’t regret it 👍

Looks a great trip, cannot beat the sleeper cars. I have often thought about the Trans Siberian express, but do you not get cabin fever after 2/3 days?
@AprilandTimTravel
@AprilandTimTravel 5 лет назад
It helps if you really like train travel! Bringing a good book or two and a deck of cards is a good idea. We found that long distance train travel during summer in Russia was interesting because it would be light outside for most of the 24 hour day, which was entertaining in itself. Might be a different story in winter when it’s mostly dark and it makes it harder to enjoy the scenery. There can be a bit of cabin fever but that’s all part of the experience 😀

Wow that’s an epic journey you did!! That’s a tough one as they are both incredible train journeys, although we can only speak for the Indian Pacific experience. The landscape on both journeys will be spectacular, perhaps you could look at the off-train experiences for both and see if anything stands out. The Journey Beyond website will have all the details: journeybeyondrail.com.au

IP. Guys this is the greatest train trip ever. Wife & I have done it in both directions. Cannot compare them as they are both fantastic. Okay you see the same places on each trip, but the selection of tours are different. AND INCLUDED in the trip price! ie. Rawlina on E 2 W Best meal you will ever have. Broken Hill. E 2 W, see the miners memorial. Bring tissues. W 2 E. Have a snack at the pub and watch a play of The Queen of the Desert. Greatest train trip in the world. (For over 50 years I worked in aviation, These train rides blew my mind!

Australia has the Indian Ocean on the west and Pacific Ocean on the east and the train travels the length of the country between these two coastlines.

Highly recommended. Also book early minimum 6 months + try go in January (Summer) its low season because its very hot. went in 2016 Gold service twin was $2150 pp/twin share. worth every cent i guarantee. Take ear plugs as the journey out of Sydney over the Great Dividing Range is windy and noisy and the train rattles something fierce >

To be honest, I much prefer Dylan's Travel Reports or Kuga's Travels, who don't feel the need to insert themselves or constantly draw attention to themselves in their videos. Indeed, they tend to use text instead of speaking in describing the passing scenery...
