1971's "The Indian Scout" was my juvenile attempt at narrative filmmaking. It starred my fellow boy scouts from West Nyack's Troop Four with Robert Mahon in the titular role. Kurt Wanaselja, a tenderfoot who was already making funny little movies (including a Star Trek parody!) did the photography. I scripted the silly story and directed.
For the 2016 restoration I've tightened the pace, inserted a few new titles and added a sorely-needed soundtrack. (Kurt's camera, like most home movie equipment of the time, did not record sound.)
Dear fellow troopers - - wherever you are today, I salute you for putting up with me during this production!
