I understand he is young, but he isn’t just making poor mental issues. That is easier to fix. He has terrible accuracy throwing the ball and constantly drops his shoulder and floats it. The number one rule is to not miss high. People need to stop comparing him to Peyton. Peyton was never that inaccurate. He made dumb decisions early in his career.
We're not comparing him to Peyton we're just saying give him grace like we did Peyton he lost threw picks and got his lumps don't treat Anthony any different
I still can't see why people are hating on AR as if everyone knew he wasn't a multi year project when the pick was made it took Allen 5 seasons before he broke into the elite tier of QBs I don't think Richardson will be different.
Peyton isn't a great comparison in some regards, but in interceptions, he kind of is. The difference between the two is telling to me. Peyton's INTs were mostly accurate throws that he tried to force into windows that he misjudged the defenders abilities or was wrong in assessing the coverage. When he started diagnosing better, he was still as accurate as before, but knew which throws were more or less safest. AR on the other hand, isn't bad at reading defenses, but his short-intermediate throws are just wildly inaccurate. If you put a trash can on the spot where you'd hit a 5 yard out for instance, he couldn't consistently hit the trash can. It's a problem he needs to fix sooner rather than later if he wants to continue starting, because it's killing drive sustainability.
he has owned up to it and explained how he needs to calm down because when he sees an open man he gets to eager and throws it poorly, it comes with the low amount of games played, he will figure it out
Is the terrifying new identity going to be just playing the bears every week? AR has 6 INTs through 3 games. Stroud had 5 his entire rookie season, and I think he might have been younger than AR is now. The only way the Colts can win consistently is if they rush for 200+ per game and shut things down on defense. AR's arm strength doesn't matter if he has no accuracy. He isn't showing improvement week to week. At this point, you might be seeing what he is. You don't learn accuracy this late in life. Yeah, he's 22, but he is a starter in the NFL. All pointing out his age does is prove he isn't ready yet. You said so yourself, the team would be better with Flacco. Let AR sit and learn. Take the pressure of starting off his shoulders and let him get coached up. Forcing him out there when he isn't ready will ruin his career. The NFL roadside is littered with QBs who were forced to play too early. Sitting him will help him long term, and it will help this team short term as well. With a good QB, this is a playoff team. Wasting a playoff window just to test out an experimental QB is foolish.
He needs game reps man. That’s what he lacks. Sitting behind flacco and waiting may have worked if he started 2 seasons in college and was 25 years old but he’s no jordan love. He needs to get in as much experience as possible. I think he’s a dedicated player with good processing. He just needs to work on his mechanics. Just gotta be patient.
@@wyattdavis6311 This is a playoff caliber team right now and you want to waste that on a guy who isn't NFL ready? And did you say he doesn't know enough to be benched? You are all off base trying to do mental gymnastics to justify the biggest weakness on your team.
@@stevedoredandyfunk3032 We knew this guy was going to be a project QB. I didn’t say he doesn’t know enough to get benched. I’m saying that these reps are incredibly valuable for him. When you draft a franchise guy you gotta trust him and let him learn. We may win more games this season with Flacco but we gotta let ARs confidence build if we want him to be the QB of our future.
@@wyattdavis6311ravens left Lamar Jackson in even tho Flacco was healthy and they still lost the playoff game it was crucial for Jackson’s development so he needs to have a better game it’s the ups and downs of the league
The last 2 weeks the middle of field has been wide open they r trying tonstop the run and trying to stop the deep pass. AR gotta learn to utilize this area and get accurate. Steichen gotta learn this is what the TE are for these short first down passes.
Before watching this I still think ar struggles with accuracy on wide open throws there was one to downs that was horrible but people don’t understand he is young and still is doing an okay job leading this team even this early into his career
Manning and Luck were accurate QBs who had to learn to read NFL defenses. Their problems their rookie year was bad reads and throwing into spots they shouldn't. AR's problem is he can't hit the broadside of a barn. He's so inaccurate that I'd hold my breath if he was spiking the ball to stop the clock because he could throw it right into the linebacker's chest while trying to spike it. He needs time to sit and learn.
Thing is sitting and watching isn't the same thing as actually doing it. Just have to be patient enough to let him develop no matter how many mistakes he makes this year its only benefitting him in the long run. We won't see a polished AR until probably 2026.
I love this for AR if his short and intermediate accuracy was decent.. he’s a deep ball specialist atp who can’t throw any other routes that don’t consist of throwing it up 50/50. His connection with Alec Pierce is there bc Pierce is a deep threat.. he has no connection with Pittman who’s the short and intermediate possession receiver bc he can’t put the ball on him.. minshew last year could at least throw quick passes
@@sammontes1148 see I'd say you have a point because it's understandable but same time his passes are just off no matter the type and in order to fix that he'd need to throw the ball about 20-25 times a game and 3-5 of them be deep until he proves he can hit all of his passes or at least 70%-80% of them the rest of the time it should be running the ball especially when you look at the Colts and they're set up to be a run first team
Coach Irsay has hoodwinked the Colts fan base by promoting Tony Richardson as a starter immediately. Irsay is not concerned about Tony Richardson. Irsay wants to make money without spending money. Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes did not play immediately, and they have turned out to be pretty good players. TR should be sitting out and learning how to play in the NFL. His confidence is being ruined. Coach Irsay and weak Ballard are to blame.
Terrible take. Peyton manning started day 1 and hes a pretty good player, also threw 28 ints. Anyone who watches the games will tell you hes not losing confidence, if anything hes gaining confidence which has nothing to do with his accuracy. Losing confidence looks like what bryce young has shown. And nobody calls him tony😂
@Reggie717 Terrible take to compare Tony Richardson to Peyton Manning. Manning had tremendous experience entering the NFL, and the Colts had a horrible OLine.
