ABSTRACT
This remains the most viewed video on my channel, even 5 years later. It was around this time when I was able to make and publish EAS scenarios without having time constraints. Of course, I no longer have time. This scenario was originally a little over 40 minutes, although due to copyright issues, a small section of the finale had to be cut. This doesn't affect the entire scenario.

I don't advise you wear headphones when watching this, EAS tones and many other elements of this scenario aren't particularly comfortable at a loud volume. If you must wear headphones (or some other audio device), start low then adjust. It can get annoying with all the noise complaints I get from viewers, so please take the time to ensure your ears are comfortable.
VALID TONES
I get this question a lot, these EAS tones you hear in the scenario are the same type you hear on radio and TV. That means, if you were to play this on air, EAS equipment will activate for it. I, dewpoint8900, will not assume responsibility for any activations as a result of this video.
RESEARCH
This scenario was aiming for some realism, mainly in the EAS alerts. At this point in time, I was well aware of the primary EAS stations for the NYC area. These stations make the main stage for nearly the entire scenario. Looking at this scenario now, there are some inaccuracies, most notably the ID of radio stations, since I know what they are now. I also wouldn't use the visuals for the alerts as none of the stations in this scenario use EASyPLUS encoders. In fact, all of the radio stations seen in this scenario (except KWO35) all use SAGE Digital ENDECs, which has a unique sound to their EAS headers, and definitely do not use the screen seen in this scenario. Given their observed behavior, I also find it unlikely that these radio stations would relay any alerts outside of tests. Of course, in such emergencies, it's more likely these radio stations would just provide information in a typical breaking news format, and an EAS alert for the events in this scenario wouldn't be necessary. New York is also quite primitive in its EAS matters (compared to states like Washington or any state using IPAWS), so how actual emergencies would be sent through the EAS remains uncertain.
As for the plot, this is loosely based off of the events of the video game The Last of Us. In particular, this scenario focuses on the game's intro, where Austin, TX is quickly overrun by infected individuals in the early days of the in-game cordyceps (CBI) outbreak. I'll avoid spoiling the game's plot, but the intro level does show a lot of instances of public discourse and panic. Amid confusion and to avoid further panic, wouldn't be surprised if news outlets pass it off as a riot. I know this seems to be a awkward decision, given current events (2021), but mind this was made back in 2016 before the craziness of today.

This was edited and published from my mid-2010 MacBookPro, if there's any jitter in the visuals, it's probably because the laptop is quite old and slow, including back in 2016.
