The Innisfallen, Cork 1970

of The Innisfallen Ferry which docked at
Penrose Wharf, right in the heart of Cork City.
This required the boat be turned about
where the river channel widens.
This slow moving, nautical ballet is caught on film here
by Robert Desmond on his Zeiss Ikon Camera circa 1970.
His lens also catches the joyful faces of family members
reunited on the quayside, the scene of so many
emotional homecomings and leavings.
